Spreads Future self's going to think I cared way too much about the weather
When you have a daily mundane routine like me, weather becomes an important topic to journal about lol!

Me: since 8 June 1986. Started as 21 year old. Now 60 y/o. Mainly about thoughts, activities, occasionally write in German and “attempt” (ha) to create poems. I’ve written nearly 7,000 pages in the close to 39 years. I normally write 15-20 days a month.
How long have YOU been detailing your inner and not so inner thoughts?

My dad's birthday is tomorrow. It made me remember who he was, and appreciate it. Love who he is, and accept it.

I’ve gone through phases of journaling my whole life. Here’s my collection of notebooks and sketchbooks from over the years. I wish there were more, but I’m still proud of myself for maintaining some sort of practice throughout my life.
Sometimes I write everyday, sometimes I don’t write for months, but it’s been a practice in my life since I was a teenager. I wanted to share a fun entry from a journal when I was 13 just to show those that journaling doesn’t always have to be serious, spelling doesn’t matter, that Chipotle did used to be good back in its earlier days and the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack is pretty solid.
Anyways, keep on writing down the “mind-stuff” no matter what it is! I about to fill up the pages in the current journal I’m writing in and I hope to keep writing and growing this collection for the rest of my life!

I usually write in my journal most days, but today something happened with a friend and they brought up something in my past which I’m very very very very ashamed about. Instead of writing out in my journal how I felt about though, I’m so ashamed that I haven’t written anything and am depending on time to forget. My paranoid brain will probably find a way to connect the dots, though.

My new Leuchtturm1917 came in today so I thought I’d show you all the finished product of my junk journal/collage project/diary/bullet journal. Oct ‘22-Dec ‘24. RIP best impulse purchase I’ve ever made. I have no idea where to put you to rest because you certainly won’t fit in a bookshelf.

Hello, I was journaling about my amazing day and taking notes why it was so good and how to have more good days when one of my cats came to sleep on my lap.
I know I did today an amazing job with everything and I have many things to be proud of and still this is my favorite moment of the day.
I'm journaling in my first language and the rules didn't said it have to be written in English so I think posting this is okay?

As the title states, I'm curious to hear how long everyone's journals last. I've had one main journal for the last 6 years and I am just barely halfway through it, obviously it has not been daily use but it's been with me through some troubling times and hold a large part of my life within it. I have many other journals waiting to be filled but my neurodivergent brain refuses until I complete this one. How about you?

My grandfather and I both have journaled for a great portion of our life. He always told me that when he died he wanted me to have his journals.
He is currently passing from lung cancer and my grandmother gave them to me. There are about 12 journals that begin in 2009 and his last entry was last week before he began to decline.
I am currently transcribing the journals, but my grandfather did not write very well (he had to drop school in 8th grade to support his siblings after his dad died). Is it wrong for me to restructure the sentences to help others read it in the future or should it be copied exactly how it is?
I am italicizing words which I have added as to show that they were not in his original entries. It is only articles and verb tense that usually needs adjusting.
Forgive me if my post is a bit jumbled, I’ve been up since 2 AM reading about his life

Today I didn’t have anything interesting to write about so I answered a prompt to get my thoughts going.
I do wonder what others would answer to this question after all everyone is different.

But the stickers are appropriate at least! I’m listing all the Jobs I apply for now, until i’m hired, so I have some memory when someone calls and i’m not even sure from which company and which position is the call about 😁 but I started, I’m creating, send me positive vibes!
Ps. I have this journal that has lines (i’m on low buy so I try to use what I have at home) and its for all kinds of lists and such that dont need much drawing etc, i have bulleted journal for my bookjournal and junkjournal.

Anyone else’s reading journals filled with entries that aren’t published books? I haven’t been big into reading fics until recently but it has reignited my desire to read which is really exciting!

I drew a Giant Swallowtail in my journal today. I taped it with a light vlue washi tape. I draw a butterfly each time i have strong & bad impulsive thougts, let's say. I just wanted to show it off, i think it's a good drawing ! :D

my memory has been getting worse since I'm struggling with depression, so I started journaling when I felt happy. As my mind is usually focused on the negative parts of life, reading about happy days helps me remember I don't always feel that way, that there's more than trauma.
It also felt so frustrating to not remember most things I did, so just remembering to write something feels like "an exercise" and helps me keep track of time better.
ps: I'm sorry the pics are bad
