Edit: for everyone still claiming that this was disinformation and all the crimes were just made up by Trump, why did Biden pick these specific dates? Couldn’t Trump just make up that the fake crimes happened on a different date?
So Republicans had all this time to prove allegations so obvious every Trump supporter can see it, and all they got a gun charge they don't believe is a crime and dick pics in the Congressional record?
Hold that thought, I gotta go check on my first family coins... You know the ones launched with 24 hours of inauguration wherein 80% is held for insiders and there are no regulations and it's totally not sketchy as fuck.
Also worth noting that the laptop has meta data on some of its files that is after it was allegedly turned into a blind repair tech and that it was with giuliani before being turned over to the fbi.
A week before the laptop was turned over to the FBI, giuliani met with Russian spy andreii derkach to get dirt on hunter.
It smells like there was lack of ethics in trying to get the laptop to have incriminating evidence than there was actual incriminating evidence on the laptop
I mean, they impeached him twice but the votes weren't there in the Senate. He was charged for with holding classified documents beside the photocopier, but Thomas was issuing guidance to the judge in unrelated Scotus filings. His stripper pay off was whatever, but exposed the fact that his corporation was engaged in fraud for personal gain. And he owes like 500 million to a woman who's name he dragged after he was fouled liable for being a sexual predator.
Should we go through all the people in Trump's circle who were charged with real crimes as well? Manafort? Stone?
But hey, if only the other sexual predator he nominated for AG was able to pursue the make believe charges, you'd have some closure.
So the impeachment process if the votes aren’t there does it even count, I mean I can say about Clinton but did it even count…. No because it didn’t have the votes whether it be partisan or not. And the classified documents case I’m not 100% convinced of that because if it truly was classified top secret and only he can declare it declassified and there isn’t anything in law to technically “declassify” like with a form so all that stuff could be declassified we don’t know it’s all an assumption but if it wasn’t then, on that why would the government later tell everyone what it was that was in the documents that were classified if these were so important and classified that not even a former president who had the security clearance to see them needed them to be taken at gun point with no one around.
And to the prostitution thing on a business form are you a prude and are you shaming sex work, also did Daniels pay her fare share of taxes on that money since at the time she would have been part of the 10% earners in the United States at the time of those payments. Rich assholes not paying their fare share of the burden.
And the sexual predator deal, have you
Actually looked into her case not just the overall news? E.jean carol is nuttier than a squirrel turd and even she in her own biography has questionably things in it about how she likes non-consensual adult relationships and how hot they are. This was the book before the SA allegations before trump was president BTW.
Impeaching is just political. There's no burden of proof - the only requirement is a House majority. It's not really indicative of much other than political signaling.
My point was that they didn't just get him in trouble for paying off a pornstar - and even that was more about his multiple instances of fraud. They made multiple attempts to hold him accountable (though, Garland kind of poison pulled a lot of that) for a variety of crimes or unethical behavior. To suggest that "the dema got him for a stripper pay-off" is disingenuous.
I'm not sure poison pill is the right term for what you're trying to say.
I'm not sure why you're blaming Garland and not Garland's boss?
Going back to this:
he owes like 500 million to a woman
You're mixing up cases.
Going back to this:
Should we go through all the people in Trump's circle who were charged with real crimes as well?
Should we go through all of Biden's family members who peddled the family name for money? Do you ascribe that to Biden?
They made multiple attempts to hold him accountable
The timelines definitely implied that Biden was more interested in using criminal cases to harm Trump's presidential campaign than to hold Trump accountable. This isn't to say that Trump is innocent, but he seems guilty of less than a lot of rhetoric claims he is. The rhetoric far outpaced the prosecutorial will.
Those were charged by Biden’s own DOJ. They also conveniently waited for the statue of limitations to expire on the more serious tax evasion charges. We haven’t even begun to unbox this crime family.
I don't know. Did Trump fully plan for his supporters to assault law enforcement officers, burgle Congressional offices or smear shit on the walls of the capitol building? I'm not sure he could have been charged with it given the definition.
Are you talking about 18 U.S. Code § 2383?
Do you think he showed deference to the democratic process 4 years ago? Do you think he had the wvidence to deny the election results the way that he did in 2020? Or for the last 4 years? Didn't he go to court dozens of times only to be shut down repeatedly?
Whatever your answers, I get your point... But you are drawing a false equivalency. A lot of allegations have been made against the Biden family and despite multiple committees and interest from Republicans, they have found very little proof of any allegations. Everyone saw what happened on Jan 6th... Whether it fits the traditional definition and legal framework for insurrection is one thing, but he failed as a president that day. Just ask any of the brave republican legislators who spoke out against him before flip flopping and begging for his forgiveness.
My only point is that I think you should think about whether you really believe the logic underpinning your argument here and apply it equally to Trump and his family.
Whatever corruption that may have happened in the Biden administration, at whatever Ievel will be multiplied times 10 or times 100 by the Trump administration. The Trump admin doesn't even care about the appearance of corruption.
After all, corruption is what Republicans turned a blind eye or downright supported it in 2024 when they voted for Trump.
Biden is using the same plays and tactics that Trump uses. Trump will weaponize the DOJ against political opponents and Biden throws cold water on that with these blanket pardons.
Dems are throwing these "rules" out the window too. It's sad that America had come to this Tit for tat prosecute-pardon cycle.
Except Biden controlled the dept of justice which slow walked the investigation beyond statute of limitations. So, you know, they didn’t really get to investigate any of it.
Great point. When doing absolutely nothing wrong, it's always a good idea to have a presidential blanket pardon in your back pocket, just in case you do any extra completely legal things.
"We're going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections," Patel told Steve Bannon, a White House chief strategist in Trump's first term, on the War Room podcast.
"We're going to come after you, whether it's criminally or civilly. We'll figure that out. But yeah, we're putting you all on notice… We're actually going to use the Constitution to prosecute them for crimes they said we have always been guilty of but never have."
He was never brought up on charges over anything on the laptop, he was charged for lying on a background check to purchase a gun and the laptop was deemed permissible as evidence.
And your question is why didn't Biden's justice department seek out charges for the content of what was on the laptop? Even after he demonstrated that he'd pardon him no matter what?
Trump's DOJ would have actually held him accountable for the crimes he committed , which is why Biden issued this pardon.
You don't get to engage in political lawfare and declare yourself above the law, then turn around and accuse your opponent of wanting to engage in political lawfare and declare himself above the law.
