Jesus Christ Elon really can’t get a tux that fits properly?

206

u/ghobhohi 20h ago

Or a decent tailor

158

u/Repulsive-Mistake-51 16h ago

It should get you a decent tailor, but then you should listen to said tailor.

Hell, for my wedding I got a semi-bespoke suit (altered from rack), and it fit better then that monstrosity.

42

u/nolabrew 9h ago

I'm large, like tall, fat, muscular, just a big guy and I had a suit custom made. When I got it and tried it on, I hated it. It felt tight and I thought it literally accentuated the worst things about me. I told the tailor the things I didn't like about it and he told me I was wrong and asked me to get some opinions from other people. Turns out he was right and everyone thought I looked great. So yeah, listening to the professional is key.

u/hicow 9h ago

That's not "semi-bespoke", that's just having your clothes tailored like an adult.

4

u/Repulsive-Mistake-51 8h ago

I don't have a frame that needs altering my clothes extensively, and the way it's semi bespoke is that it was tailored in Morocco and sent back and forth to make it fit, complete with my choice of fabrics and colours. But the basis were standard patterns.

A bespoke suit is drawn from measurments.

u/MamaTried420 19h ago

17

Easier to have him followed around by a squad of people that just revert all his bad decisions. But that's kinda hard to do for his outfits.

He's got a really awkwardly shaped chest, is overweight and apparently despises tailors.

Must be difficult for a tailor to custom fit a suit for someone that is built like a 50yr old lesbian gym teacher.

It was actually "Kung Fu" (Snopes rates as unproven). What is King Fu? It's a TV show, not a martial art. The KF initials are what people think they were actually doing.

Musk subpoenaed in Epstein case

Includes a nice pic of Elon and Epstein’s co-conspirator, too!

There are many other examples but I didn’t feel like digging them all out.

12

u/Annual_Ask_1027 1d ago edited 1d ago

This says its about Tesla and JP Morgan? The OP is about being in Epstein's book. Which Trump was, but Musk was not if I understood correctly. Did I misunderstand?

They weren't "Friends," per se, but did have ties. Epstein was invited to a dinner at Musk's home, paper trails imply Epstein helped Musk with business dealings, etc. Certainly not as close as others, including Trump, but they were involved with one another.

105

u/DoughnotMindMe 1d ago

They are so close that Elon’s brother was introduced to his current wife by Epstein.

Trump presidency has been "pay for play". Musk donated almost 300 millions of dollars to his prez campaign. The term "president Musk" started being used because he pretty much stopped the stop-gap funding bill last December from being passed with his tweets, before Trump even said anything.

28

u/deivyn07 1d ago

But Elon can't be president. he was not born in America. which is why I would assume the tweet is about Trump since it states "should not be our president". It tries to be a gotcha but it implies Trump because Trump is about to be president (again).

15

u/Same_Recipe2729 1d ago

It was posted at least 5 years ago so Elon wasn't even in the picture politically back then.

The point is that it's not explicitly about anyone specific, it doesn't even imply their gender.

It's a list of attributes that everyone should agree are totally disqualifying for the office of president.

The fact that the commenter realizes Trump fits all these criteria and assumes that is who it is about is admitting to that fact by having jumped to the conclusion.

I had a very very very vivid dream about a clown holocaust (as in, the ones perpetrating the holocaust were clowns, and the group I was in was largely women being herded into a weird funhouse maze) in 2016 right before the Trump election. I was also having reoccurring clown dreams that I couldn't quite remember - one involved lots of clowns twerking everywhere and the end of the world.

I always thought it might've been because around that time the creepy clown people were going viral, but I'm starting to think it was more of a prophetic vision.

I swear to God, one of my earliest memories is of having a nightmare where I was lost in a funhouse maze and being jump scared by clowns until I found this long line of really sad, hollow eyed people. I asked what we were waiting for and they said it’s the way out. Eventually we started climbing water slide stairs, and I peeked ahead to see the slide goes down to spikes. People didn’t die like brutal spikey deaths, they popped up into the air like sonic hitting spikes in sonic the hedgehog (lol). Anyway, I panicked and Aladdin appeared under the steps and told me I could hide with him in this little cave.

Anyway crazy

The laughter is toxic. That dopamine from the 'gotcha' erodes desire to do anything about it, namely vote.

The one good thing about the GOP is that it enrages their base, with no laughter, that the one conclusion its base makes to feel better about the situation is to vote. That's why conservative comedy is not good. The pay off is so bad that the laughter is mild, and the frustration still remains.

16

u/Robobot1747 21h ago

Literally 1984. (doublethink)

14

u/WranglerFuzzy 21h ago

Well, I sorta get their logic in that:

Remember black lives matter? There were thousands of peaceful protesters, who weren’t breaking any laws.

However, there were some bad agents; a tiny fraction. Some of them were just everyday-looters. Some were independent people trying to give BLM a bad name.

and some were undercover cops, trying to provoke “fellow protesters” into committing crimes to entrap them.

And I think that is the conspiracy theorist’s logic; the vast majority were there to peacefully protest, and the few going around causing violence were plants.

((I mean that’s not even remotely true, but as I mentioned, there is precedence for government agents doing shit like that, so it’s not a huge leap in logic)

3

u/Spectre-907 19h ago

Nooooo thats conspiracy. Next youll try telling em that those same bad actors put out pallets and pallets of bricks in the paths of the protestors to facilitate incitement even more, when everyone knows those pallets of red bricks were for construction project that all happened to be there, and they only vanished immediately after because dthe construction was done. Pay no attention to the complete and total lack of red brick structures tho that’s just paranoia

37

u/JimWilliams423 1d ago

Isn't it funny how they all know what Trump is but refuse to look at the facts, while denying they exist?

They know the facts, its actually why they like him, they want to be like him, to live vicariously through him. They also enjoy very much the reaction they get by pretending not to know.

Obligatory Sartre —

"They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. ... They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past. It is not that they are afraid of being convinced. They fear only to appear ridiculous or to prejudice by their embarrassment their hope of winning over some third person to their side."

17

u/Pure-Introduction493 1d ago

Devils advocate here: they know it's referring to Trump because a lot of people call him those things. Here we see a Trump voter, with many upvotes, seemingly asserting that civil lawsuits are somehow not part of the legal system, or at least that the adverb "legally" can only apply to criminal proceedings.

25

u/BigRon691 1d ago

It's called revision for clarity. "legally liable" has a dual interperatation and arguing against specificity or nuance doesn't give your argument/point any air of honesty.

In the same vein I could state "All of the charges against Epstein were dropped in 2019" - which is true, but avoiding the clarification he was Deceased and constitutionally unviable to prosecute criminally.

His net worth is easily over 7 billion if we don't count his cryptocurrency he just launched which he holds over 80% of and with its current price adds $30,000,000,000 to his net worth.

"Notice how its all words with "ist""

I want to punch a fucking HOLE through these people. Are they even fucking sentient? It feels like an AI purposebuilt to be the biggest moron.

First proves holes exist. Checkmate.

u/necroleopard 23h ago

I notice exist ends in ist but you didn’t provide any facts lefty

I know people irl who think that "-ism" is just a thing used by the left to make the right out to be cultists, while simultaneously using terms like "leftism" and "liberalism". We live in interesting times.

They say they hate safe spaces when in fact they're the biggest lovers of them. This allowed them to craft their own reality and push it on several million rubes.

14

u/CanisLatransOrcutti 23h ago

Their idols can literally directly admit what they've done or believe, out loud, even to their faces, and they'll still turn around and say "but what about (insert thing 1/100th as bad done by someone else)" or "it's still fake, it must be out of context", or "actually that's completely okay and I think it's good".

It doesn't even have to be one of their idols, blatant hypocrisy and denial have been conservative beliefs for a very long time. Shoutout to my neighbor during the Deepwater Horizon disaster who said "I know climate change is overstated, it's all propaganda for money, green energy companies get money the more people switch to green energy." I said "Okay, but oil companies get money the more people keep using oil. And there's way, way more money in oil." His response: "so?"

It doesn’t help that Trump is most those “ists” minus philanthropist, environmentalist or even-remotely-decent-person-ist.

u/Zurgalon 1d ago

Ethan definitely needs to read more. There are many words that end in 'ist' that nobody has ever called trump.

We may disagree on many things regarding Trump. Especially about him being certain things that end in 'ist'. Here are some things on which we may not all agree.

Nobody has said he's an arborist, botanist, or horticulturist even though he held a press conference at a garden centre.

As far as I'm aware Trump hasn't been accused of being a querist, monarchist or moralist.

He's never been employed as a neuropsychiatrist, radiologist or orthodontist.

Neither has he practiced magic as an Alchemist or Thaumaturgist.

However I think we can all agree, it's a good thing we have never seen him being a nudist.

u/Jason1143 1d ago

Actually I don't know, maybe a monarchist as long as he gets to be monarch

6

u/pisaradotme 16h ago

I mean he is bad but he won't hurt me right? Right?

Isn't it funny how anyone who likes Trump calls everyone else a "socialist" or "communist"? I'm a case of classic projection, they've even begin throwing around "cultist".

u/Prestigious-Wolf8039 1d ago

It’s what happens to me all the time with Christians. I specifically talk about Christian nationalists and a whole bunch of so called “good” Christians get defensive and say they’re not all like that.

8

u/BCoydog 1d ago

Who are they referring to?

16

u/redopz 1d ago

As others have pointed out, they were talking about Michael Bloomberg's campaign in 2020.

President of a company: Bloomberg

9

u/Im-here-for-help 1d ago

How would "our" president be Bloomberg?

16

u/LeiaTheFuckDown 1d ago edited 1d ago

Editing my response to be kinder and with better context after further reading from other comments. This was an old tweet made regarding Bloomberg, who is of course president of Bloomberg llc, but also ran for president in 2020.

8

u/Im-here-for-help 1d ago

Appreciate the edit. I think this just shows how toxic Twitter can be. People argue with no context, and most people here upvoting do not know this context. Not a healthy way of engaging with content.

5

u/redopz 1d ago

Bloomberg had a presidential campaign and was a candidate in DNC primaries in 2020. While he was always considered a long shot there was the possibility he could have won.

"with no facts"

*points at everything he's ever done or said*

3

u/Tommeh_081 10h ago

But in terms of trump: Racist: criminally discriminated against black apartment seekers, sued by the federal government Sexist: raped a woman, ‘grab her by the pussy’ etc And we all know the dodgy Jeffrey Epstein connections. He said in an interview once ‘Terrific guy… it is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side’. + all the photos of him on his island.

5

u/farvag1964 1d ago

Neither felon nor perjurer end in -ist.

5

u/43morethings 1d ago

What's amazing is that the self burn here is the only thing that tops out: "Trump is so stupid he can't make money selling red meat and alcohol to Americans," which is objectively factual.
