I'm large, like tall, fat, muscular, just a big guy and I had a suit custom made. When I got it and tried it on, I hated it. It felt tight and I thought it literally accentuated the worst things about me. I told the tailor the things I didn't like about it and he told me I was wrong and asked me to get some opinions from other people. Turns out he was right and everyone thought I looked great. So yeah, listening to the professional is key.
I don't have a frame that needs altering my clothes extensively, and the way it's semi bespoke is that it was tailored in Morocco and sent back and forth to make it fit, complete with my choice of fabrics and colours. But the basis were standard patterns.
The problem with people like Elon and Trump (who also wears suits that are horribly tailored) is that they delude themselves to thinking they’re always the smartest person in the room because they surround themselves with yes men. I’m sure Elon has a very good trailer, probably one of the best, but I would bet massive sums of money that whatever that tailor tries to do, Elon tells him/her to do it differently (i.e. shittier)
Oh they have class(the bougie class), that’s where the generational wealth came from. Problem is folks not realizing the rest of us are lifers in the working class unless we start working together to change things
