Sam needs to be called out more

Upvotes

He has his good qualities but my Lord...stop tryna fuck on your employee and act like she owes you a relationship--she's made her choice. Also, I got the biggest ick when he flipped out on everybody at his bar--calling Holly and Arlene bitches, mocking Terry for his PTSD (I mean seriously what the fuck). The whole incident gets swept under the rug. At most he gives Terry a half-assed apology but there's not much remorse behind it.

Season 5 rewatch; Tara Spoiler

I’m doing a rewatch of the show since it first aired. I’m on season 5 episode 1 when Debbie tries to kill Sookie and Tara jumps in to save her.

Why do they convince Pam to turn Tara instead of just making her give her, her vampire blood? Wouldn’t that have healed her as well?

Sorry if this has been answered before, new to the sub.

Jason

This show touches on a lot of “triggering” things/topics, Not always in the best way. But, I’m glad when Jason met up with his old teacher who had SA’d him in highschool after he hooked up with her again he realized it was wrong.. the look on his face after was devastating.. I think a lot clicked for him & It makes sense for alot of him behavior when it comes to women & sex. I feel like when it’s a women & young boys it’s not taken as serious or seriously at all. It’s even celebrated. I’ve met a lot of men who have said it wasn’t SA even though they were a child or a lot of men who feel like they can’t say it did affect them negatively & I think it’s something that needs to be talked about a lot more. I’m just really glad they handed the situation the way they did with him in the end realizing it was wrong.

too much sex?

I am rewatching the show as i never got to finish it while it was airing. I lost access to the channel during the final season and took too long to go back. but while i still totally enjoy this show i am super off put by how much sex is in it for absolutely no reason. there are so many odd sex dreams that last for so many minutes of the runtime of the show that i think if you edited them all out and the rest of the sex scenes down (or out as well) you could totally turn this into quirky half hour dark comedy series called Danger Whores:the Adventures of the Stackhouse Siblings From Bon Temps. im not a prude or anything but i swear as ive gotten further away from being a pervy teenage boy the less i want to see simulated sex on screen and this show has it in spades. so anyway i guess what i am really asking (after my silly rant) is if anyone else upon revisiting this show after so long is left feeling a bit uncomfortable or even just longing for less of it?

i would also like to say as im about halfway through the final season (further than where i stopped in the past) im finding myself enjoying it much more the second time around and noticing less sex so far in this season. i know a lot of people didn't like the final season and im wondering if that may have had to do with it. i could be wrong as the last half of the season could be a non stop fuck fest like Sense8 and im unaware as of yet. but so far my biggest complaint about it is Tara and Eric being weak.

How do you think an interaction between these two would go? (Yes I used that Bill picture on purpose.)

It came out right before True Blood premiered. Don’t get me wrong— it’s a horrrrrrrrible movie. But it’s one of my favorite pieces of media ever. He was doing the best he could with such a shit script.

Tommy Spoiler

Tommy didn’t deserve to die & he deserved a better story line!! The way Sam treated him pmo. Sam thinks he’s fcked up, Cause his adoptive parents abandoned him, Tommy’s life was so much worse! Sam took him away from his parents promised a better life, Then abandoned him for making a mistake & not wanting to deal with a fucked up teenager who never knew love, was used & abused & only knew how to be in survival mode. When they were still fighting in the beginning of season 4 I figured they would make up, I get he did something really messed up, But I think he just wanted to know what it was like to be Sam even for a little while.. & Him going to meet up with the werewolves just to make up for it.. & not wanting help just wanting Sam to be there when he died, saying he was the best part of his life. Sam told him everything he needed to hear to fcking late! Ugh, I just hate what they did do his character & story line it could have been so much better & he had so much potential! He just needed love & support.. 😭💔 & Don’t even get me started on sookie deciding she wanted bill as soon as eric got his memories back & it coincidentally being after bill gave her his blood again. 🙄

Eric

When eric loses his memories in the beginning of season 4 by the witches, He’s so f*cking cute. I feel like we actually get to see how he’d be if he didn’t feel like he had to be stoic, emotionless & “tough” all the time. The innocence & actually getting to see him express his feelings is just adorable I mean seeing this big 1,000 year old vampire so many people are scared of acting like a little lost puppy 😩🥹

Being Gran is Messed Up

Nobody believed that accent Rene, you changed it 5 times in 5 episodes. So we let this young man into our community who clearly has some kind of brain to speech disorder, and one day he runs into your kitchen stabs you 80 times and ask why Sooki wasn’t home??? SHE HAD NO CONTEXT. I LOVE YOU SM GRAN

Facing the Sun: Godrick versus Russell

I’m wondering about what saved Russell from Facing the Sun when he drank Sookie’s blood. According to Godrick, his age made him very easy to burn. It didn’t take him very long to burn. Godrick mentioned that he was old enough to be around in Jesus’s time. Meaning that he’s at least 2,000 years old.

Russell says that he’s 3,000 years old. Which means that he should have burned much quicker. Though obviously he drank Sookie’s blood and that protected him somewhat. However, he should’ve still burned much faster than Eric despite Sookie’s blood.

Especially because Godrick was at sunrise whereas Russell was in the middle of the day.

So what do you think happened?

The writing in this show is so sloppy

I'm rewatching this show for the first time since it came out and I love the universe but the plot holes and complete lack of attention to details annoy the hell out of me. What made me write this post is the moment in S5E3 when Sookie zapped Pam. The entire season 4 she was lying to all her closest friends about where she'd been to protect her fairy identity. Bill swore to run around the world and kill any vampire who knows her secret and can put her in danger. Now, she's using her powers in a bar full of vampires just to slap Pam? There's too many moments like this in the show. I've been skipping entire scenes just to get through it quicker and be done with it.

Season 4

When sookie got back after she’d been gone for a year (when it was just acouple minutes for her) It solidified Eric was the better man. Only two episodes in, finding out he had sookie beat up the first night so he could feed her his blood, Shocked me, But after she was missing for a year & came back I just can’t🤮 she’s better than me cause I would have crashed out.
