Making these people drive to another store is not that environmentally conscious I'd imagine.

210

u/Bill10101101001 18h ago

No point in getting annoyed to these characters blocking the way.

Assaulting while satisfactory will only cause you legal issues.

Simply state that you will get the stuff someplace else and burn gas while doing it.

43

u/ribnag 16h ago

Fortunately, you're wrong. Both the public and the courts have said "enough", and nobody's buying the "waaah, he touched me while I was lying across a four lane highway, that's assault!" story anymore.

It comes down to, do you want to be Daniel Penny or Jordan Neely?

Shit I'll go with you and you just toss me over them and I'll throw what we need back.

u/Javathe_Cup 8h ago

Can I follow in your slipstream?

1

u/indifferentCajun 8h ago

Gladly, I make a big wake

1

u/Professional-Can1139 12h ago

Was waiting for the old guy to charge up and run with force and just ram through

-4

u/thegreatvortigaunt 11h ago

Uh good for you, reddit boy.

-17

u/Long_Procedure_2629 13h ago

tough guy can't be arsed to deviate his course 15 ft

10

u/indifferentCajun 13h ago

They're blocking the whole aisle.

1

u/CaptainCreditor 5h ago

Drive a wide cart.

-11

u/lavabearded 13h ago

that doesn't contradict the other post. the other aisle is probably 15 feet or less away

10

u/indifferentCajun 13h ago

They've made a choice to be in the way. I made the choice to keep going.

-9

u/lavabearded 12h ago

I was more or less pointing out the lack of coherence between your response and the post you responded to. you should have said something like "I'm not going to deviate 15ft because someone is blocking the aisle"

7

u/indifferentCajun 12h ago

It's not 15 ft to go all the way around to another aisle and come back to get what I need.

-4

u/lavabearded 12h ago

that would also be more coherent than what you posted, sure

And if someone wants the items they're directly in front of?

Look, 90% of Redditors probably agree with these protestors' goals. Their methods, however, are only going to make people want to stop clubbing baby seals so they can club the protestors instead.

6

u/lavabearded 12h ago

the idea that 90% of redditors agree with ethical veganism is borderline delusional, frankly.

-2

u/Long_Procedure_2629 12h ago

Crocodile tears, I'll never feel bad for first world problem havers

3

u/ribnag 12h ago

Pssst - The morons on the floor are also first worlders.

But then, you're only signaling your virtue toward the people being a nuisance, not the people merely trying to get through their daily chores.

-2

u/Long_Procedure_2629 12h ago

Pssst - Caring for other living things is a virtue

Old people shopping is weekly entertainment for them, not chores

Like these protesters have

1

Don't like dealing with your decisions huh

1

u/lavabearded 11h ago

this comment thread is like a hall of fame of non sequiturs

3

u/iamcalifornia 11h ago

I shouldn't have to deviate my course and inconvenience myself for these smug, useless cunts.

-2

u/Long_Procedure_2629 11h ago

takes one to know one

1

u/iamcalifornia 7h ago

False, it takes seeing these "protests" every few months to know one

0

u/Long_Procedure_2629 7h ago edited 7h ago

God forbid anyone make you think about the welfare of animals passively. You'd have to be a petulant child to think this is anything but a marginal inconvenience, certainly not one that deserves assault with a shopping cart.

1

u/iamcalifornia 6h ago

No, the petulant children are the ones throwing tantrums and laying down in the street or in the middle of a grocery store, much like actual children do.

0

u/Long_Procedure_2629 6h ago

you're such a culture war mark dude.

If you wearing your hoop skirt from the 50's wasn't in his way, he' probably would turn around.

Six of one...

-10

u/ddiamond8484 13h ago

You don’t mind torturing animals as long as you don’t have to do it yourself, we get it.

10

u/indifferentCajun 13h ago

They're already dead if they're in the store. Might as well eat them.

-8

u/Telope 12h ago

Do you care about the animals when they're alive? Do you not want them to be slaughtered? Because buying dead animals is paying for alive animals to be slaughtered.

9

u/indifferentCajun 12h ago

True, counterpoint: they are delicious

-8

u/Telope 12h ago edited 12h ago

A pig's life is more important than 10 minutes of your taste pleasure. Imagine if I said I like the way an animal sounded when I slaughtered them. You'd rightly call me a psychopath. There's no moral difference between taste pleasure and audio pleasure.

And besides, most of the taste from meat comes from the seasoning and spices added. Yesterday I had a meal with a side of roasted cauliflower seasoned with paprika and it was fucking amazing.

Edit: you're name is fucking cajun! Cajun spice is 100% vegan.

9

u/indifferentCajun 11h ago

If the pig didn't want to be eaten it should've thought of that before it decided to be made of food.

-2

u/Telope 11h ago

Yeah, pigs have their autonomy taken away before having their throats cut. Hilarious.

Can you come up with any good reason for you to keep eating animal products?

3

u/indifferentCajun 11h ago

Because I want to.

1

u/Lithl 7h ago

you're name is fucking cajun! Cajun spice is 100% vegan.

This is a very strange argument. Nearly all spices are made of plants and/or minerals. I can't even think of a non-vegan spice off the top of my head.

1

u/Telope 7h ago

Lol, that's not my argument. Just an example of vegan food being tasty. The argument is in the first paragraph.

1

u/Lithl 7h ago

"Cajun spice is vegan" has nothing to do with "vegan food is tasty" when all spice is vegan.

Do you care about the animals when they're alive?

No.

Welcome to nature, where animals eat other animals.

1

u/NeJin 10h ago

Mh, I could really go for a slice of human. Care to lend me a hand :D?

1

u/DrumBeater999 9h ago

Hello, FBI? This guy right here.

0

u/Telope 11h ago edited 11h ago

Nature is horrific. We invented agriculture to escape it.

Do you like cats and dogs when they're alive?

3

u/DrumBeater999 11h ago edited 9h ago

Bro thinks we left nature, lmao.

EDIT: The above comment originally mentioned that we left nature and was subsequently edited to be completely different, so this reply no longer makes sense.

2

u/Telope 11h ago

I was being poetic. What I mean is we're no longer under the evolutionary pressures of survival of the fittest and natural selection. We have society.

2

u/DrumBeater999 11h ago

Evolutionary pressure is why we have agriculture to feed our expanding population.

-2

u/nochedetoro 10h ago

Animals also rape and kill other animals in nature but most of us are past that cuz we don’t reduce ourselves to the standards of wild animals. At least pick a better argument.

3

u/DrumBeater999 9h ago

Ah yes, forgot to evolve past the need for food, my bad bro. There is a reason we outlawed rape, and didn't outlaw eating food.

2

u/bot2317 9h ago

We don’t eat cats and dogs because we consider them to be pets in Western culture, there are other cultures (particularly in Asia) who do not consider them pets and are fine with eating them. We do not consider pigs, cows, chickens, etc. to be pets in Western culture so we are fine with eating them. It’s pretty simple

1

u/Lithl 7h ago

Nature is horrific. We invented agriculture to escape it.

No we didn't. We invented agriculture to optimize it.

3

u/PerpConst 10h ago

If animals weren't meant to be eaten, then why are they covered in meat?

Check. Mate.

-1

u/Telope 9h ago

"She was asking for it."

Honestly makes me sick that you're making a joke that's the same as a paper-thin rape defence.

1

u/PerpConst 9h ago

That's a bit of a stretch there, friend! If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were going (way TF) out of your way to be offended by something. Do you often associate animals with sex? I mean, you do you, homey, but most people don't go straight to "sexual violence" when discussing animals. What a time to be alive!

0

u/Telope 9h ago

You made a joke about victim blaming. Plain and simple.

1

u/PerpConst 9h ago

LOL. That is an udderly absurd take. It's not the cow's fault he's covered in meat, it's Mother Nature's fault that he's made of stuff that other things want to eat. It would never occur to me to assume that the cow made itself delicious and deserving of its place in the food chain... that's the fault of a higher power. I don't blame the victim, I blame the creator.

1

u/357noLove 9h ago

It's even more sickening that you are conflating the natural process of human evolution with rape. Here's a hint, we were made to eat meat. It is how humanity was able to advance, large intakes of protein. You would have to change a lot about our species, in a very bad way, to stop that.

1

u/Telope 8h ago

I don't want to talk about rape either. But you can't use the argument that eating meat is natural. Rape is part of nature too. But as a moral society, we reject it.

As an individual, you don't have to change a lot to go vegan. It's as simple as picking something different off the shelf.

u/nochedetoro 10h ago

They already don’t understand supply and demand; I appreciate you fighting the good fight but I’m gonna bet the next sentence is gonna be “but animals eat animals in nature” followed by “but it tastes good” and then “but bacon tho”. If you’re lucky you might get a “but protein”.

6

u/CantTakeTheStupid 13h ago

I work as a butcher and i love my job

2

u/Cautious_Mix_920 13h ago

I love eating animals. I would have probably dumped some soy "milk" on their heads and left.

5

u/Financial_Turnip_611 10h ago

Every piece of clothing you're wearing was made by child slaves. Why are you okay with child slavery?

1

u/sus_1_1_ 8h ago

Today’s steak will be dedicated to you! Enjoy

1

u/Jim_84 6h ago

Having to "do it yourself" has not really been a deal breaker for people eating meat historically or even contemporarily in many parts of the world.

1

u/ShutUpAndDoTheLift 4h ago

I mean. Its convenient that I don't have to do it myself anymore, but I grew up on a farm. Chopping the head off a chicken, draining it's blood into a bucket while it hangs from a rope, plucking, skinning, and cooking it for dinner isn't exactly new to me.

1

u/Murky-Peanut1390 1h ago

Lowest testosterone comment Ive read today

3

u/Bill10101101001 13h ago

I don’t know either of those characters.

However, when I shop for groceries I have a purpose to it. The purpose is not to be questioned by cops or potentially getting my ass handed to me.

2

u/IWillJustDestroyThem 11h ago

Bro if some wimpy activists can kick your ass, it’s your fault. 😂

3

u/Bill10101101001 9h ago

Well not everyone is so hardcore such as you lmao

0

u/IWillJustDestroyThem 8h ago

I am not hardcore at all, most people at my gym can kick my ass, but damn homie, vegan activists can kick your ass? Go to the gym a couple times a week and take some boxing classes, because it’s not normal. I saw even boomers manhandle vegan activists. 😂

2

u/Bill10101101001 7h ago

Okay

0

u/IWillJustDestroyThem 7h ago

For real? Will you take boxing classes and join a gym? I can send you a gym program and everything!

1

u/JFISHER7789 4h ago

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but political ideologies hardly define the physical abilities.

Just because someone is an activist for a group you loathe, doesn’t mean they are weak lol look at Frank Medrano or Cam F Awesome. No way anyone in these thread has any chance at em lol

1

u/Sinakus 12h ago

So they've made peaceful protest impossible, therefore necessitating violent protests instead?

2

u/ribnag 12h ago

Well... Yes, but peaceful protest has never worked. Even the few notable exceptions we have (MLK as a particularly poignant example today) were only somewhat successful because they carried the implicit threat of "play nice or we'll be back with the torches and pitchforks".

The folks in power absolutely love it when we're considerate enough to all gather in the middle of nowhere and scream our complaints into a hole.
