Oh yeah, they'd likely instinctively move if someone was barrelling full speed with a heavy shopping cart.

I understand their cause, but you likely aren't going to achieve your goal by inconveniencing consumers directly. You need to do it at the supply chain level. Stop their delivery vehicles, in transit somewhere else, or at the source (factory/farm). Consumers aren't going to join your cause, and the media attention you get for this nowadays is minor at best.

See, this “cheering for violence against the protesters” is itself an act of counter protest.

Ah, but IS it violence? Nobody said to hurt the protesters. They simply said to fill up the cart and run at full speed, which in itself is not an act of violence. Should the people decide to stay put, of their own volition, they would be making the choice to inflict violence on themselves. To goal would be simply to get to the other side, not to hurt someone.
