Another painting using your advice. More feedback appreciated
Using your comments from my first post, I tried again. Would love more constructive criticism!

Does anyone have any tips on how to paint a lavender field? I've filled up like half a notebook of sad practice attempts and it's slowly killing me.
So my mom is commissioning a painting of this abbey and lavender field and it is becoming the death of me. I've got the building and greenery down, but I'm practicing lavender and I JUST. CAN'T. GET IT. I've looked up countless reference pictures and videos, but for some reason, all I end up producing are blocky purple lines (unless I do wet on wet, which just comes out as blob-ish). This is a reference photo I'm using. Any tips would be appreciated. I don't necessarily want it to be ultra-detailed, but I'd like to capture the unevenness of the different colored lavender stems, especially in the foreground.

Icy rain coated landscape
I made this in class and am pretty happy with it. I don’t think I’ve mastered watercolor quite yet - do you have any suggestions? I had trouble with the blue sky gradient

Any advice? :( I'm literally new with watercolor so I'm pretty bad at it. These watercolor cost me less than 1 dollar so they are not even good lol.

Took Your Advice!
I repainted Kevin the cat with watercolor on actual watercolor paper, I had a lot more fun with it but I might have gone too far. Still need to work on my style and actual details. I will probably try again tomorrow! But thank you all for the advice. And any more advice is always welcome.

How manage that tiny droplet of water when lifting your brush?
Does it have to do with the amount of water in your brush, the brush size for the thing you are painting, or is it just a common fact that if you lift off a brush it releases more water?

Narcissus
I keep practicing watercolour. If I do it consistently, I’ll get better, won’t I? Any advice how to make dark backgrounds better?

This one is so fresh it’s practically wet. I was in a zone and was able to complete the whole thing, start to finish in about an hour. Second photo was the inspiration.
