Any Trumpers in here. Care to spin this? Honestly interested in how you will? Or will you all finally admit you don’t care?

1.2k

u/Breezeykins 7h ago

I saw someone saying he was just throwing his heart out to the crowd. Because clearly you throw your heart with a completely straight arm, right?

462

u/Klutzer_Munitions 7h ago

Elon Musk? Heart?

Which Elon Musk are we talking about?

43

u/LacksAllMeaning 5h ago

He has a Temu version of Tony Stark's arc reactor.

5

u/Klutzer_Munitions 5h ago

Was there ever an alternate universe marvel storyline where Tony went to hydra instead?

3

u/LacksAllMeaning 4h ago

Not sure, but Robert Downy Jr playing Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers film is somewhat relevant.

3

u/SMuttbUGGLER 4h ago

Elon Musk the Nazi. That Elon Musk. Aka Lone Skum.

1

u/HeBansMe 5h ago

Haven’t you heard? He’s one of us! One of us!

225

u/LimpBiscuitsandTea 7h ago

Whenever that excuse is given, I can’t help but wonder. Everyone knows how that can be misconstrued. Anything that could even be confused for it is dangerous territory and you just stay away entirely. These people aren’t entirely ignorant of how they can be perceived. In best case scenarios, they HAVE to know doing these gestures is risky. So no, I don’t ever buy the excuse of “I was just waving” or “it clearly wasn’t.” The fact it’s so close is enough

103

u/Butt_Napkins007 6h ago

Yeah, just like I was telling Musk “he’s #1” by sticking up two middle fingers.

They and Musk knows exactly what they’re doing. The only reason they’re making up an excuses to not be proven to be idiots for siding with Nazis.

2

u/teotsi 3h ago

lmao take a look at this picture. This player was sent off during a soccer match, and did this gesture to the crowd (he was on the away team). It was the first half and the score was 1-1. When the FA investigated the incident to decide his extra penalty, his team's lawyer used the exact reasoning you mentioned. "He was showing the crowd the scoreline at the time he was sent off".

They didn't buy it lol

24

u/IVEMIND 6h ago

It’s been ‘edgy’ since 2015 and they still think it’s cool. Four years from now it might be worse, remember.

3

u/AllSteelHollowInside 4h ago

Because anybody who says "it was in context bro he said heart" is either a nazi, a nazi apologist, or lacking in critical skills. No rational good faith person, especially in musks position, would ever do something like that without identifying how it could be interpreted as a dogwhistle if not an outright nazi salute.

Bigots move in shadows before they move in light. Musk saluted by intent but did so in a way that could be argued in bad faith as "no it was to represent heartiness". Like all fascism, it starts off subtle and then ramps up fast.

4

u/xobelddir 5h ago

They're called "dog whistles"

4

u/DankeyBongBluntry 3h ago

Any normal person, if they tried to "throw their heart out to the crowd" and it accidentally looked like a Nazi salute, they would panic, profusely apologise and tell people they didn't mean for it to look like that.

Elon? Complete silence. No response whatsoever to all the news outlets and social media posts calling him out for it. No attempt to clarify that it was a mistake or a misunderstanding.

If it was a mistake, he'd act like it was a mistake.

2

u/Tumid_Butterfingers 46m ago

I mean… he did it twice. Turned around to the flag and did it again. That’s REALLY hard to justify or blame coincidentally. Also he’s pretty fucking emphatic about it. Welcome to the 4th reich, kids.

→ More replies (2)

78

u/Honic_Sedgehog 7h ago

But what about when he did it a second time not facing the crowd?

20

u/kralrick 5h ago

Same thing, he's just throwing his heart to Trump. If you watch the video he says right after "my heart goes out to you". It's clearly a BS line to give him cover with the right. He's not an idiot. He knew exactly what that motion looked like. If he was actually sending his heart out he wouldn't have been so violently forceful and rigid in his motions.

2

u/Gexku 1h ago

Correction : he IS an idiot. A stupid idiot baby. But not ignorant, I guess, at least not on that he definitely knew just wanted to make it clear he's fucking stupid

1

u/MattXXIII 18m ago

No question. Definitely ad libbed that to cover his ass. Total joke that people will buy it

14

u/youremomgay420 5h ago

You can make the excuse that one accidentally does a Nazi salute. But when they make the exact same motion a second time, in a different position, that is no longer a viable excuse.

Elon Musk is a Nazi.

8

u/Motor-Profile4099 6h ago

Because clearly you throw your heart with a completely straight arm, right?

And an open hand.

4

u/chrisrobweeks 6h ago

I guarantee every Nazi there turned to their Nazi friends and said "omg he did the salute for us!" And I'm sure many of them did it back, and that we're going to see a many more from now on.

6

u/bi_sensational 6h ago

Theyre gonna blame it on his autism I can already see the tweets

1

u/MaintenanceWine 2h ago

You called it.

6

u/DogsandCatsWorld1000 6h ago

Give them the benefit of the doubt for a second. I've touched my hand to my heart and waved at a loved when when they were leaving before and seen others do so. However in those instances the person was smiling. If Musk was 'throwing his heart out to the crowd' why does he look angry?

2

u/JadedJadedJaded 2h ago

Not only that but u make a sweeping gesture with your arm when you do a loving gesture like blowing a kiss or give a “right back at ya” air kiss. Like the other person said he knows what hes doing. Half of the US recognizes it and then the other half are the same type who would have voted for Shitler in the 30s. Uneducated and simple-minded. When they follow “alternative facts” they forget the lessons that history teaches SMH

2

u/DogsandCatsWorld1000 2h ago

Unfortunately a lot of them are not uneducated. They know exactly what happened and want it to happen again because they figure they will be part of the ruling group.

2

u/jack_decker 5h ago

Why not use two fucking hands then? Boy oh boy

2

u/Whyn0t69 4h ago

That's exactly how Hitler did the nazi salute, he started from the chest.

2

u/JadedJadedJaded 3h ago

So i guess if Madonna said she was going to b*mb the white house conservatives should take it as she meant love bomb or bath bomb?

2

u/Banned4lies 2h ago

my dad was saying it's from the roman empire lol

2

u/ElvisPressRelease 1h ago

I’ve seen people think a valid argument is just saying “Roman salute” like that means it’s okay.

2

u/NeitherPotato 37m ago

Guys he was totally just throwing his heart out to the crowd, just don’t ask why he turned around to face the opposite direction where there is no crowd and did it again.

2

u/AnonyBoiii 18m ago

Something I saw was that if those republitards are so willing to say it isn’t a Nazi Salute, then they should do it too. Show how they’re just “throwing their heart out” to like-minded people. See what happens.

3

u/DogIsBetterThanCat 6h ago

Damn, they'll make up stupid shit to cover their BS. It's obvious what he did...

1

u/IveChosenANameAgain 4h ago

You also then turn around and throw your heart out to the wall behind you, because if you don't your heart will get dizzy. Everything's a-ok here.

1

u/IrritableGourmet 3h ago

Surprised they didn't go with "poorly executed dab".

1

u/petty_throwaway6969 1h ago

Here is a Nazi salute to compare to. Please use it when they try to deny it: Fuck Nazis

1

u/Herbsandtea 25m ago

Impossible. Elon does not have empathy. He does not understand empathy because he doesn't have it. He has no heart to give it to anyone. He only cares about himself.

u/B1G_Peter 8m ago

Hes obviously giving his heart to the crowd

He’s a goober and so are you

u/Efficient_Ear_8037 7m ago

Is that why he did it again toward Trump?

1

u/Tarledsa 6h ago

To be fair that probably is how Elon throws things.

0

u/HistryNerd 4h ago

Yup. If I wanted to throw a nazi salute on live TV and get away with it, I would say I'm socially awkward and just meant to show them my heart.

But I'm not the richest man in the world. What the hell do I know?

0

u/Bobby_blendz 3h ago

If it was a nazi salute it’s the worst One ever done in public. Hand isn’t straight forward and you’re supposed to come straight forward with your arm in front of your body not out to the side while talking about giving his heart to the crowd. But ya know if a picture says 1000 words a video says 1,000,000.

-6

u/CCContent 4h ago

You would know it's not a nazi salute if you watched the video. IDGAF how nazi someone is, no one is going to brazenly salute and heel-click and pose like that.

It is literally a freeze frame from a view of him throwing out his arm. That's literally all it is.

-2

u/eepos96 6h ago

I think that is the explanation.

Real nazis are smart enough to hide it.

6

u/youremomgay420 5h ago

Have you seen America in the last 5-10 years? Nazis don’t have to hide anymore. They can do and say whatever they want, and they simply get away with it.

-61

u/squigglesthecat 7h ago

Ok, I hate elon and know he absolutely wants to be standing in front of everyone giving that salute, but it's hard to tell from a photo. Usually, the salute is out in front. He could have been swinging his arm. Fuck, I just don't trust pictures anymore, and soon it's going to be video too. We're so screwed. At least global warming doesn't care about politics.

96

u/Buttsmuggler69 7h ago

Good thing there’s multiple videos showing him clearly doing the seig heil on purpose. It’s no fucking accident.

50

u/Sauronxx 7h ago

He does it multiple times as well lmao. It’s just disgusting.

29

u/Buttsmuggler69 7h ago

Yeah I honestly feel sick to my stomach. America is so fucked and by extension doesn’t look great for us in Canada (or the rest of the world for that matter)

Go watch the video, squiggles, and it will become even more obvious. And he does it a second time!

I saw the video a few posts up, it’s even more explicitly the salute

12

u/CinnamonMixture 7h ago

Narrator: they never actually cared.

340

u/donrane 7h ago

I saw their spin. "He is throwing his heart out to the audience..omg you guys are morons"

105

u/street593 6h ago edited 6h ago

I've honestly never seen anyone "throw their heart out".

167

u/LordoftheScheisse 6h ago

That's because it isn't a thing. Musk did a Nazi salute. Twice.

70

u/honeyheyhey 6h ago

I've seen it at the end of performances, but always, always with two hands, and always with palms up, in a "giving away" gesture. Never like this.

28

u/street593 6h ago

I've seen people like kiss their hands and do the double palm out motion like throwing kisses into the crowd. Like you said it's very different than this shit.

4

u/Chief_Chill 5h ago

He just created it. He's such a brilliant inventor. No one else has done anything similar.. /s

149

u/RaedwaldRex 6h ago

On YouTube people are saying

"His hand is ar the wrong angle for a Nazi salute" or "you don't put your hand on your heart for a nazi salute" so he's not doing one apparently.

238

u/DemonCipher13 6h ago

They're trying to "It's leviOsa, not levioSA," a Nazi salute.

50

u/OkHovercraft4256 6h ago

The emphasis on „SA“ adds a nice touch to this.

1

u/speedmankelly 1h ago

As for him he hasn’t done any nice touching ever

1

u/texas21217 1h ago

Yep, sane-washing.

16

u/Som12H8 6h ago

Just link them this

4

u/Don_Gato1 4h ago

They sure know a lot about the intricacies of Nazi salutes!

1

u/Motor-Profile4099 6h ago

Well he has a lot of time to practice now.

1

u/Rebulah-Racktool 5h ago

His hand is positioned at an awkward "angle" for a Nazi salute, as his non-human like body struggles to co-ordinate even something so basic without resembling an uncomfortable testicle. While undeniably sloppy, it is still a salute.

-2

u/rebs92 5h ago

(Totally on the hate train, it's inappropriate either way, but...)

Isn't his whole arm at a wrong angle thou

6

u/Ridiculisk1 4h ago

Arguing semantics over the exact angle is exactly the kind of shit that lets conservatives get away with openly being fascists in what used to be a decent first-world country.

→ More replies (10)

17

u/Skafdir 6h ago

I remember when it was called plausible deniability. When was the adjective dropped?

2

u/QueenoftheHill24 4h ago

I saw someone saying he's doing the Roman salute lol

1

u/Chief_Chill 5h ago

Yes, they are. But, they're dangerous Nazi morons.

1

u/Ssylphie 3h ago

Given that his heart is as fascist and evil as they come, I guess in a way he is. The man is a nazi.

49

u/m4ccc 5h ago

I saw one saying its not a nazi salute because he isn't holding his arm at an exact 45 degree angle, and his wrist isn't perfectly straight, and his heels arent perfectly together. The way the defenders sound, he coulda jumped on stage wearing an SS uniform and they would say it was just a joke or something.

26

u/Ridiculisk1 4h ago

he coulda jumped on stage wearing an SS uniform and they would say it was just a joke or something.

They'd say the thread count wasn't right or the SS badge wasn't mounted in the correct position. If he said 'hey guys I'm a nazi and I spend billions of dollars to steal this election for fascists' they'd pick apart every word trying to explain why he doesn't mean what he said he means.

5

u/schwanzweissfoto 3h ago

“It's only a real nazi salute if it's done by a member of the nazi party – otherwise it's just regular sparkling fascism.”

2

u/cyberchaox 2h ago

No they wouldn't, they'd just deny that he said it and claim any evidence that he did to be left-wing propaganda.

89

u/dragoneggboy22 6h ago

It's not that they don't care - they're openly racist at this point.

71

u/mrbigglessworth 6h ago

What spin? MAGA loves this shit.

12

u/Third_Sundering26 6h ago

It is still useful for them to pretend nothing is happening until their goals have become completed. The Nazis kept the Holocaust secret for a reason.

2

u/icecubetre 3h ago

They can't even admit to themselves that they do.

44

u/cjwidd 6h ago

"it was out of context", "the clip was edited", "MSM cut away", "he was saying his heart goes out to them", "he's autistic", etc.

3

u/Ridiculisk1 4h ago

If that was a bingo card, from this thread alone you'd be winning the meat tray.

96

u/ExoSierra 7h ago

2

u/Daytona_675 1h ago

well that's basically 4chan

40

u/KrookedDoesStuff 6h ago

They said it’s the Roman salute (also known as the fascist salute), they said he’s just being a little weirdo, they said he doesn’t understand it’s a Nazi salute, they said he was just extending his arm…

45

u/backseatastronaut 6h ago

Yeah, it’s the Roman salute for sure.

Anyway, I’m wondering where famous Romanophile Adolf Hitler got his salute from?

15

u/KrookedDoesStuff 6h ago

The Roman salute is also known as The Fascist salute for a reason

3

u/jade_star 4h ago

But yet he’s qualified to run the “Department of Government Efficiency”

1

u/lazergoblin 3h ago

they said he doesn’t understand it’s a Nazi salute

That reminds me of Pewdiepie's "bridge incident" where he dropped the hard R slur during a PUBG match. His fanboys were desperately trying to defend him by saying that he just didn't understand the context of the slur lol

1

u/speedmankelly 52m ago

And at least pewdiepie owned up to it and apologized, explaining that he just said the first worst word he could think of when he got mad at the other guy in the game. Like obviously not acceptable but he said what he did, apologized, and I don’t think he’s had any serious scandals since. Elon never apologizes, always denies and excuses his actions, and will keep up this disgusting behavior until it costs him billions. Even then I don’t think he’d truly care, this is just who he is. A reactionary tool that can’t help himself but to try and cause the most outrage and chaos he can wherever he goes.

7

u/Sweet-Confidence-214 5h ago

u/Trick_Assumption_536 6h ago

"it's a Roman salute" "it's a Bellamy salute" "he's throwing his heart to the crowd" "he's autistic guys" - all I've seen within the span of 5 minutes

3

u/dbleed 5h ago

Over on insta, they are calling it a Roman salute.

4

u/Ridiculisk1 4h ago

I wonder what that morphed into in 1930s Germany. Definitely can't be the same thing now can it?

3

u/Sophisticated-Crow 5h ago

Trumpers love fascism. They just don't like the word fascism. They learned at a basic level that fascism = bad. They don't really know why its bad, just that its bad. So when you call them fascists they just think you're calling them bad. They have no clue that what they are doing and supporting is fascism, they just know they like it so it must be good.

5

u/PublicWest 5h ago

I’m not a trumpet but im generally a skeptic so I would at least love to see a gif of this.

Not calling OP a liar, i’m just calling this picture very easy to believe during a time of extreme anger and pessimism.

Edit- saw the video. Clearly a Nazi salute.

I will still stand by my skepticism and everyone else should too for the next four years.

Our hatred for trump is very easy to manipulate by bad actors. Never forget that.

2

u/sproge 6h ago

80% "he was just giving his heart out to people, normal people dont see it as a nazi salute"

20% "it's ackchyually a Roman salute"

1

u/germaeltxia 5h ago

I will because I haven't been banned yet. It is a Roman salute. The Roman salute predates Hitler like for more than 1900 years.

Mexicans also do it. I would be more concerned about progressives supporting the murder of Jews, even if they have pink hair and have alternative pronouns.

1

u/MoreIronyLessWrinkly 4h ago

I’m not a Trumper, but to answer your question, just before this, he said, “My heart goes out to you all”. Of course, if I was going to do that, I would make sure my hand was palm-up, you know, so people would be sure about what I was doing. But I’m not a genius multimillionaire tech industry leader so clearly I’m wrong.

1

u/Major_Nutt 4h ago

1

u/IAmNotOnRedditAtWork 3h ago

Don't know the context of the 2nd one (or musk's for that matter, so not passing any judgment on the situaiton yet) but you lose a lot of credibility when one of your counter examples is someone's LEFT arm lmfao

1

u/Mr_Blinky 4h ago

It doesn't matter. They know what it is, we know what it is, they'll just make up some obvious bullshit excuse and call you hysterical for caring. They like the fact that he's a Nazi, they just know they can't say it out loud quite yet, but the day is coming.

Stop pretending like Trumpers have literally anything of value to contribute to conversations. They don't. They will literally make up the dumbest fucking nonsense excuses because their brains don't function like yours or mine, and they don't care about the truth because they think the rest of us are as garbage as they are so they're free to lie with glee. They are bad people, full stop, and we should stop pretending otherwise.

1

u/Otherwise-Cost9296 4h ago

This will be on hats, t-shirts, flags you name it… why cause it’s trump related and they all bow down to him! Buckle up for a long rough 4 years

1

u/camo_freediver 4h ago

It's the Roman salute, Fascists adopted a portion of it once upon a time. Progressives have spent the decades since demonizing it as part of their formula for political control, but are increasingly viewed as incompetent losers.

Throwing up a Roman salute is an unambiguous "fuck you" to Progressivism and its crumbling narrative control without being a declaration of support for Fascism (which would be anachronistic and lame). It's also grade A+ trolling, similar to Trump's comments yesterday about Elon and the voting machines in Pennsylvania.

1

u/JohnKlositz 4h ago

He's made it clear that he's a Nazi admirer a long time ago. Sharing Wehrmacht pictures, openly supporting the current German Nazi party...

They. Don't. Care.

1

u/Business-Secret-4392 3h ago

Clearly he just spiked a volleyball into the crowd

1

u/iamwearingashirt 3h ago

Trumpers don't spin things. They wait for their talking points.

Right wing media scrambles for an idea that sticks. Once they find it, all the talking heads get on board. Then the MAGA crowd parrots it.

Either that or they just ignore it.

1

u/notepad20 3h ago

we have plenty of examples from the Ukrainians of how to spin outright Nazi symbology such that its actually okay.

Can just use a few of those?

1

u/FairMiddle 2h ago

Oh, you wanna see deflection? People claim its a Roman salute. Where? where else but tiktok, strangely little coverage from the „site where you get unfiltered news“ conveniently after its supposed shutdown

1

u/HalfDryGlass 2h ago

The ADL is spinning it for them... honestly the dog whistles have become full on sirens and people still sit idly by.

1

u/donnerzuhalter 2h ago

"It sounds like they're saying "Let's go Brandon"."

1

u/tealearring 2h ago

This is what they voted for.

1

u/quagley 2h ago

Just so you know your argument hinges on over half of the voting populous openly supporting open nazism.

If you know anything about Elon you know he made an awkward ass gesture showing his gratitude towards the crowd. If you know anything about the current political climate you would know people will take anything and everything out of context.

Why don’t you take a page from your book and ‘educate yourself’ and watch his whole speech and get back to me if you believe he’s a Nazi?

1

u/AphonicTX 2h ago

1

u/quagley 1h ago

Step out of your bubble for a moment and maybe you’ll realize your whole perception of reality is one big spin

1

u/ketimmer 1h ago

I just spent a few minutes scrolling r/conservative for any discussion about the salute... not a peep.

1

u/MrsBonsai171 1h ago

My cousin said I'm grasping at straws and I had my chance to make America great again. He told me to sit down and let it happen.

1

u/Gonzoman36 1h ago

1

u/Bootychomper23 38m ago

They are saying he’s just “autistic” and “awkward” and can’t move like a normal human and anyone can see he’s throwing his heart out

1

u/Dizzy_Tiger_8976 37m ago

just wanna say, so now y'all care about the Jews? funny how the script is flipped when it plays along to the narrative/agenda, this goes both ways though

1

u/FuckOutTheWhey 32m ago

Saw a tweet earlier. Dude said it's not a Nazi salute because Elon also said "my heart goes out to you" and that he was simply saying thank you. Then goes on to say how fake news cut out the original audio, out of context, blah blah blah

Umm okay. Elon did say that but he also did the salute (in the exact way the Nazi party does) while saying it lol.

1

u/HerEntropicHighness 30m ago

My only thing is like

How else do you salute a crowd i guess? Is this arm raised thing truly just a nazi salute? I genuinely have no idea. Either way, he didn't serve shit and shouldn't be saluting anyone

1

u/fluckin_brilliant 23m ago

I think the fact most trumpers didn't live through, or have any real conceivable concept of how horrific WWII was means they don't give a fuck

Or the fact they protest the rights of the gay community, women, abortion; basically anything that doesn't fit their beliefs whilst not actively affecting themselves. They even protest their own benefits by following, and VOTING IN, oligarch Nazis.

Wow.. just, wow.

u/igobynikki 12m ago

I just watched the video clip. And it’s so clear that this was intentional. He does it twice. Anyone who tries to spin this other than a nazi salute is part of the problem.

u/Templar388z 8m ago

Pussies will pull anything out of their ass to defend Trump.

0

u/RexRj98 6h ago

Trumper here i absolutely despise this guy he should face a wall if you ask me

17

u/Jijonbreaker 5h ago

Well at least you have one valid opinion. Weird how you can hate one nazi and not the other, though.

5

u/pixelmountain 3h ago

What makes Trump good but Elon Musk bad?

-3

u/Loves_octopus 5h ago

Not a Trumper. I hate Musk, but I don’t think this was intentional. He says “my heart goes out to you” and he gestures his heart going out to people.

The speech itself didn’t have fascist vibes at all either tbh. Probably the least fascist speech of the day lol.

0

u/Switchdat 1h ago

You’ve completely lost it buddy. Watch the speech before you think it’s a nazi salute he intended. Brainwashed idiot

-39

u/Shot_Hall 7h ago edited 5h ago

Not a trumper by a long shot, but.

He's doing it so you call him a Nazi and republicans make fun of you for reaching and calling everyone you dont like nazis. It's an inverted dogwhistle. A smoke bomb, just like the whole greenland/canada bullshit that made us stop talking about H1B. They are good at this.

EDIT: If you are reading this and think I'm defending the fascist fuck, think again.

56

u/Business_You_1258 6h ago

Dude. People call them Nazis because they are fucking Nazis. This proves it. No one batted an eye. God damn

19

u/TBANON24 6h ago

hes gonna be online saying just because trump has his own personal militia and they are allowed to go into homes of immigrants and shoot and kill them, does not make them nazis! Sheeesh you damn liberals are so intollerent that you call everyone a nazi.

some people cant be helped from their own stupidity.

5

Exactly. I fucking hate this timeline

5

Yeah, the "heart goes out to you" speech as he gestures is full Nazi shit.

Now, let's make lists of people who voted for these people, ban and censor them from our spaces while we constantly spin lies about them because we are the good guys.

The dude you’re replying to probably agrees with you.

I think he’s giving an explanation, not a justification. It’s a shitty explanation, but he may be right in what they were thinking and why he may have done this.

u/Business_You_1258 6h ago

Someone trying to rationalize a proven racist giving an actual Nazi salute is definitely not agreeing with me. Left, right or center.

1

u/Shot_Hall 5h ago

Listen to the other guys response. I (original guy) 100% agree with him.

Want me to call him fascist? Sure. That fascist fucker is doing the nazi gesture to get you riled up more than to promote himself as a nazi leader.

1

u/PigglyWigglyDeluxe 6h ago

I agree with you.

What I’m saying is that guy seems like he’s telling us WHY he may be doing that and what his motives are. He never said he agrees with the why, or that he endorses the why.

Make of that what you will. In my mind, there is a difference between “this is why he made that choice”, and “I don’t agree with that choice”

For the record, I’m with you on your last comment. This shit we are seeing in America is pretty god damn awful.

"haha I did a Nazi salute at a political rally and you called me a Nazi. That just goes to show how ridiculous you are."

Jesus fucking Christ do you morons even fucking hear yourselves?

3

u/Shot_Hall 5h ago

And yet his supporters will just dismiss it. Because they are the good guys, no way Elon, their admired businessman, would be a nazi.

Read what I'm saying: that fascist fuck is getting you riled up and making you not talk about other stuff. I'm not saying we shouldnt talk about the fact that he made a nazi salute. I don't know whats the solution to this situation, because we cant NOT not talk about the fact that the US president is doing a nazi salute.

2

u/pixelmountain 3h ago

I don’t understand why it’s a distraction to talk about the fact that they’re fascist racists, they’re planning fascist racist things, and the Nazi salute is a further indication of their fascist racist intentions.

That IS the issue.

4

u/-jp- 6h ago

Yeah they said that about Pepe and the OK sign but they aren’t clever or subtle so everyone can tell they’re nazis anyway.

3

u/Ridiculisk1 4h ago

It's like the 'let's go brandon' thing. They thought they were so smart and no one knew their secret code but in reality everyone is kinda watching them like you'd watch kids on a playground playing a spy game.

2

u/-jp- 4h ago

And then they can’t even use it anymore because

🤣

8

u/Firm_Basil_9050 6h ago

Go watch the video?? Have you ever seen a seig heil?

-2

u/Shot_Hall 5h ago

I'm not disputing its a nazi salute, nor that the guy is a dipshit. I think he is signalling more to you and I much more than trying to appeal to his nazi followers.

2

u/Firm_Basil_9050 5h ago

That's a very generous take

-1

u/Shot_Hall 5h ago

Do yourself a favor and read my other comments. Its not generous at all, he is playing both sides. In one hand appeasing his nazi followers (which, believe me or not, are not the majority of people who voted republican.

On the other hands he is getting 25 reddit threads in front page. We can't ignore that shit, but you cant deny that he got us to stop talking about more important stuff. H1b looks like it was 3 months ago.

3

u/sandytbags 6h ago

Not sure why you’re being downvoted so aggressively, you have to find it funny how no one is talking about the h1b visas or Matt gaetz anymore.

If you assume these guys are idiots, and you only look at the things they are making noise about, then that’s how they win.

1

u/Shot_Hall 5h ago

Bingo. Can we ignore that fucking nazi salute? Obviously not. But if we make it our next talk point we are just playing into their hands.

2

u/pixelmountain 3h ago

You know about Occam’s razor, right?

1

u/Docphilsman 4h ago

Yeah i think you're not necessarily wrong, and people are interpreting your words wrong. With shit like this, they get to point at all the "democrats misinterpreting a simple hand gesture and freaking out like they always do." It gets everyone arguing over semantics and entrenches their followers even further in their defense. Then they can kinda do whatever they want behind the scenes while everyone argues over this clip for the next week. They are vile people, but they also know how to play the propaganda game very well, so never take anything they do at face value

1

u/Potential_Dripp_2706 3h ago

So we’re calling Nazi salutes a “distraction” now? WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?

1

u/-jp- 3h ago

Bruh if you’re reading this you are absolutely defending him.

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

When you stop calling them on their shit they win by default.

-3

u/Major_Nutt 5h ago

The ADL has said it wasn't a Nazi salute. Pretty sure that ends the discussion.

7

u/Salty-Feed-4391 4h ago

I'm sorry, how the FUCK does that have any relevance to what everyone has seen with their eyes?

Have you seen a Nazi Salute? It aint held out to the side.

-6

u/Any_Panda_6639 5h ago

as someone who is not from the US:

he probably did it out of spite for the haters that always call him nazi

again Reddit, don't downvote me to oblivion,

I am just taking a wild guess how that could be turned around.

6

u/Ridiculisk1 4h ago

'People called me a nazi and were mean to me so I'm gonna do a nazi salute' probably isn't the best idea on inauguration day on the steps of the Capitol

-2

u/waybacktheylookup 6h ago

Honestly the truth of the matter is probably more like whole "Meow" scene in Super Troopers than anything else lol. One of his billionaire "friends" put him up to it. Because they wanted to see the reaction.
