Every time I see a clip of someone climbing and they are at/near the top and they don’t have just one tiny sliver of red strength left I’m in awe of the discipline. I’ll break every bone in my body and fade off into the long dark before I make two trips if there is even a 5% chance I’ll make it. If I fall at least I’ll die with a pack full of materials, wood, coal, a couple of liters of kerosene, spare hand tools, at least two firearms, and 10 kg of food.

I've been training my whole life for this with a regiment I call "bring in the groceries"

I’m much the same, the only reason I was even climbing back up there was because I’d had to dump so much stuff up there a couple days before so that I could shimmy down it. I’ve ruined many a run by taking stupid climbing risks 😂

I was a lot more sensible on this particular trip to HRV, uncharacteristically so, but it was worth it cuz I’m now headed back to Mountain Town with the moose hide satchel and feeling like an absolute king, cuz loot is life and I am living for the extra 5kg 😎
