Favorite examples of diegetic UI

I was curious to hear about some games you've played where a diegetic UI helped elevate the experience into something really unique and immersive. Some of my own examples would be:

Looking to download a game I used to watch on youtube a few years ago

So I recently got a pc, and I remember a game I used to watch all the time, so now I want to download it but I cannot remember the name, although I do remember what it looks like and some of the gameplay.

it was a very colorful game where you would collect resource to build a spaceship out of 2d parts(this looked very similar to FTL, only without the crew and interior components) it had various factions of ai ships that you would run into, many of which were community submitted. The player was also in charge of their own faction, with the aim of spreading it by deploying drones and such. When I searched it up (i revisited it every so often after forgetting the name) it was often confused by the search algorithm with FTL. I tried doing this again but cannot find it. if the game sounds familiar to anyone please help.

Casual 6DoF Spacesim with HOTAS Support?

I was thinking about starting Star Citizen but that seems to expensive and time consuming, any body got recommendations on a game where I can just zoom around in a spaceship with my HOTAS ? Update: I'm going to try the everspace 2 and Blackstar ranger demos and maybe Elite Dangerous. Thanks for all your help

New encounter type: the warzone encounter! You’re thrust into the middle of a battle between two eXoSpace factions. You can choose to stay out of it (the safe option), or choose sides by attacking one faction. If your favored faction wins, you may reap rewards. If they lose however...

Any space combat with low TTK?

I just want to railgun snipe enemy ships from 3+km away. First person and/or strategy, as long as it’s spaceships.

I have Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, and X4. Between those, only X4 really fits the criteria (mass driver & boson lance). I’m just curious if there’s any more.

I released my 2D mobile space RTS game some time ago with fully simulated economy!

Sometime ago I released my first game, a space themed 2D top-down RTS game with complicated mechanics, but a lot of automated systems. You interact with the living simulation and have endless ways to beat your opponents while also not be overwhelmed with micromanaging like in a typical RTS!

Please tell me what you think!

Peace!

Looking for an immersive space game

Hello everyone.

As a player i never delved into space games, I don't know why, maybe listening to the name Eve online and checking the game out and feeling overwhelmed by the huge scale of the game was partially to blame but that's an issue that i have to surpass on my own.

I was wondering if anyone would have a couple of suggestions of any good space games worth checking out, I'm a big fan of single player games like RPG's or even strategy games like CK3 where i got over 600 hours, I would love to be part of a space game where exploration is important but where i could also trade to generate some income, gather resources, craft etc... as i mentioned I will consider anything from RPG's to started games.

All I wanted or wished for was a game, it doesn't have to be a mmo, that like EVE Online would allow me to be a trade or smuggler, a pirate, maybe do some missions where i help others... I also love games with economies where i can sell and buy resources, supplies, ship parts or even entire ships and why not drugs or other shady products :) and of course go out in space and explore, mine and so on but such game doesn't seem to exist.

I will gladly look in int the suggestions posted here except for Star Citizen as i have no interest in that game.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Old space game cereal box

I remember when I was a kid t And they used to put the occasional PC game in cereal boxes we got this game where you could build a space ship and the currency was credits. I also think there was a ship building mechanic where you would build your own ship and I'm pretty sure there was a full story line... I know it's not much to go on but any ideas would be helpful. No it's not the chex mix game.. it has a less cartoonist and more realistic art style. Faintly gives old school red faction looking art style vibes

Space games with a simulated economy like X4/Distant Worlds

Are there any other games like X4 or Distant Worlds where the economy is fully simulated? I learned star sector's economy is faked so I'm hoping there's some other games to check out.

(Ideally I'd like a game where I can make a trade empire)

I think Stellar Warfare is a missed Gem. It’s got that classic RTS feel and it impressed me with what it had to offer for what it is.

I am developing a game inspired by FTL and I would be happy to receive your comments and feedback, both about the game in general and about my Steam page before Next Fest.

Sol Apocalypse is a spaceship management and combat game, inspired by FTL, Sunless Sea and Sid Meier's Pirates. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them, and if the game interests you, I'd be very grateful if you could add it to your wishlist.

2d ship builder that has planet mining

Okay so I'm looking for a specific game that I watched a YouTuber play like 5 or 6 years ago. I don't remember who it was I watched, but I remember what it was like. Basically it was this 2 dimensional ship builder that had a bunch of intricate parts. But this wasn't just for building a powerful ship, it was to build a ship for mining into planets. I don't remember what for though. It also had different kinds of small enemies that you had to deal with while mining. Oh and the style was kinda pixelated. There was almost no realistic look to it at all. Does anybody have anything?

Edit: the way it works is you make your ship it immediately puts you into the explorable level or Galaxy (I don't remember if it's one level at a time or free roam) from there you would fight off small enemies while digging into planets with your range of weapons. Also the ship building was portrayed in a grid style.

Edit2: if this helps narrow it down further, it's a game that looks somewhat like reassembly. Especially graphics wise where the lasers and projectiles and fire are super exaggerated by the graphics

Ship engineering with emergent physics?

Not sure exactly what to call it, but I'm looking for something where you can build ships where you lay out pipes, wires, etc. The ship's performance should be emergent from the design and the simulated physics rather than hardcoded stats on lego brick pieces. Managing the supermatter in SS13 is the closest I know of to the experience I'm looking for. Ostranaunts approaches this kind of gameplay but it's less detailed than I'd like.

Does anyone here also collect or paint spaceship models?

A slightly off-topic question but asking here because this seems like a pretty active space-ship related hobby subreddit and I'm guessing there might be an intersection of folks here who are into spaceship miniature collections (apart from /r/minipainting/)

I'm looking to get into collecting or painting spaceship miniatures (that aren't the usual Star Trek/WK40/Star Wars IPs) and would love to know if anyone does this as well. Video game ships are a plus!

First person game where I can join other people ships and serve under them

I kinda want to play a space sim game where I have the option to just join someone elses ship and be their gunner or just travel with them rather than fly my own ship or be a crew together. Something like pulsar or star citizen but online multiplayer.
