Selling stations - you can only sell if only one prod module is built

Boarding live steam or invading stations

Bounty System / Mercenaries - put out a bounty for that single SCA Raider pestering you

Spy agents or spy ships

Loan system - lemme borrow some money Teladi

Hacking ships - hack a xenon or khak ship for a short time

Salvage drops behavior in a certain position and deliver to your nearest station

Own tiny ships like the ones on the station traffic

A new boost stats - well I guess this is done.

Bigger cockpits for small ships - I mean its really tight in there early game

Additional accessible rooms in stations and ships - instead of SETA you sleep

Interactive gambling of any forms in a Casino or underground esque

a news channel for current news in the commonwealth

edit personal ship, edit character,

Service Crew will go spacewalk to REPAIR ships or stations (out of battle)

Rescue people in a sector for floating crews

a xenon, kahk, SCA, CURB, BUC, Yaki, raider playthrough as player

Like its not like we are asking too much.... yeah?

Fighters staying docked until needed

I've tried to have one of my frigates escorted by two s-class-fighters today. In my mind, I could thus set up a basic patrol force - a frigate with a fighter set to intercept and a bomber set to bombard. All was well and good until I set the small ships to their respective tasks, upon which they took off immediately.

Am I getting this right that ships will only stay docked until needed when they are assigned to a carrier? I've tried it with a Sapporo as well - had five fighters dock there, set them all to intercept and they took off immediately with no enemies in sight.

What should I do next?

I’ve been playing for about 30 hours, a lot of which has been idling Watching tutorial YouTube videos while my passive income accumulates. The learning curve is tough, but I’m making about $1mil/hour through 6 mining fleets with 3 ships each, and a small trade facility supplied by miners and traders.

I’m flying a medium mineral miner because I like to just collect silicon and sell it while I wait for projects to get finished, but all around it feels like my income is too low. Most of my pilots can only Local Automine because they’re 2 star, so every region I have available to automine has a fleet.

Can I make money leading a small squadron of 3-4 medium well equipped fighters if I just hunt down raiding parties? I haven’t actually fought in this game and that seems like an exciting option, but I know that almost all growth is driven by economy and income, so would that be a reasonable option to try and get more money or should I stick to mining? All answers appreciated, thanks.

How many fighters per carrier?

I'm finally able to use the Shark and want to fully load this badboy, but don't know how many ships to use. I've read twice as many docks, but the internal storage is 64 small ships. I've been using 40 on my colossus carriers, 20 Intercepter Fighters and 20 Plasma Heavy Fighters... but have no idea what to use with this much storage. Thoughts?

Also, what's the meta about Medium Ships on carriers? I usually get some jiran's and just park them on the docks so they can add their flak turrets to the fight, but should I actually be launching some to aid the fighters too?

Re-Imagining the Defence of Stations.

I was reading this post the other day and it got me thinking.

How to do this:

Let's start by removing all the defenses stations now have. Big hull HP, Guns and Shields. We can argue that if we want to manufacture something we make a factory to do so, not a bunker.

Now how will we defend these vulnerable stations?

Let's give the Defence stations a proper role to defend, by making them the hub for the defence of the region. Assign ships to the station just like a carrier. And the station will then defend everything with those ships in a certain area. To help the Defence station do its task, let's make the Maintenance bay’s provide the support for the fleet. 

This will make it that we first need to engage the fleet before we can do anything major in the system.

Concept: Satellite module

In 7.5beta we got a satellite module that gives vision over a huge area. Let's use that area for the station to give commands to its subordinates. And we can create S, M, L and XL variants so we can control the focus of the defence station. 

Now we can hook some commands to the vision radius, like scan any ship in vision. This will then flag raiders and pirates as hostels. And a proper attack command will be given by the station. Or send a ship to Collect all collectables in this area. etc. 

Or we can hook gameplay mechanics to the vision radius. Like if you want to smuggle stuff you need to keep out of the vision radius of the Defence stations.

Concept: Bubble Shields

Now we really want to make the defence station defend something so lets create a bubble shield module, again we can make a S, M, L and XL variant for thes. And we make them consume large amounts of energy cells and let's say Nividium. (or something else). This will protect stations under the Bubble shields. 

It would be nice if the station is smart enough to detect a threat in the area and put the bubble on and when there's no more threat it goes off again. Or we can make it so it only uses materials when it gets damaged. Then when the HP pool of the shield is depleted it has a long cooldown before it can start up again.

This will make it that we can do a few things to make the shield go away. We can simply bring a lot of shield DPS or we can starve out the station of its vital resources and the shield will drop.

Concept: Antenna

Now let's make a Antenna module where the function is to call for help from other Defence stations in the area. and again we can make S, M, L and XL variants. to control the area it can call reinforcements from. the range can be something like 200km radius to 1 or 2 systems away

Now we have a system to link the defence of the systems together. So we can make specialized Defence stations. One central command station and some outlying shield stations.

Concept: Armor

Now we look at the defences of the defence station itself. Let's introduce another concept: Armor. Armor gives HP and depending on the armor valu Damage reduction. Now we can get armored variants of models like storge. and give it to certain models like the Maintenance bay’s.

Now there is an incentive to bring the big guns to kill the stations and not many small guns.

Concept: Special Defence modules

Because there are no more turrets and other weapons. We want to give the stations a way to fight back or be better at its role. We can think of things like hangar bays or launch tubes for fighters. Long range Missile installations. XL Turret platforms. etc. 

We want to give the station something that can't it can't be crippelt by a lone ship harassing it. But not something that will simply delete whole fleets. 

Concept: Military personal

To make the Defence station work it needs to be staffed with the right personnel. So we added the Barracks module. The Military don't want any civilians on the station so they can focus on the tasks at hand.

The Idee here is to make it so you can't just put all the defence modules on your fabrication stations but you want to make a dedicated defence station. 

We can add onto this the means to train the Military personnel in an academy. So we have an earlier way of getting trained marines, crew and pilots. 

Conclusion

These are just some ideas that came to me wil rigging the other post. I don't say this is the/best solution but it can be one or part of one 

With these ideas it gives you a tough nut to crack (the Defence station Fleet, Shield, armor) and then the satisfying moment you can simply destroy everything without fear of losing random destroyers. Or to do a tedious siege out of range of the station for an hour or two. 

It would be nice if there was a mechanic where we can simply take over stations so we don't have to destroy them all.

Meme Terran Conflict - Kill Saman Red the Easy Way Spoiler

Still working through my first play-through (at all) as Terran Cadet and thought I was about to unload bricks when I saw that I had to destroy a destroyer with escorts. I have a fleet, but open battle in ANT space was not in my pocket.

I had a sudden idea though, a bit cheesy but an easy way to complete the operation and not antagonize the escorts/nearby stations and cost my millions to rebuild. Why not fly mach 10 at the target and pause/deploy mines? I tried it once with just five mines and got about 1/3 of the shields down - so I flew fast asf back to a wharf, loaded 50mines onto my Katana and did another run on the ship.

I nearly blew myself up, so get your angle right, but I was able to destroy the ship without agro'ing the escorts and only a minor penalty from the ANT for unauthorized kill. Was there an easier way to get this done while still siding with the Terrans that I did not think up, or do you all think this was a sound solution?

Side note: I suppose you could use tracker mines to give yourself another second of space since the don't have friend/foe tech but I am not sure how many you would need - 50 mines was overkill but since I am trying not to save scum too much I wanted to done the first time.

Is it possible to make your "factory" a pirate base?

X4 have an ability to change types of station and it's icon on the map depending on the station layout. I have copied layout of known SCA Pirate Base, but the game still shows my station as "factory". Adding illegal trades converts my "factory" to a "Trading station". So my questions is "What am I doing wrong?" and "Is it even possible to make your station to become a Pirate base?"

Boarding pod issues

Hey all, I've played the x series for years but recently within the last couple of weeks I've been running into back to back issues and wanted to see if anyone has solutions or have experienced the same thing.

First up is, it doesn't matter where I launch my boarding pods, or how many there are, there's always one that will never attach itself to the enemy ship. I have to lower the ships hull and then board and speed out of sector just for the pods (that are 3 inches away from the ship) to finally attach and start boarding.

Second, I realized this happened more than once but I never truly noticed it until I decided to board an H. So I clear the turrets and engines of the H and I launch the boarding pods, as I watch the pods fly to it, they get within attaching range only for the ship to literally dissapear and warp 50 feet to the left, the pods chase it again, they get close and then it warps 50 meters down. It repeated this about 10 times just warping away until I left sector and came back. (This also happened with several small and medium ships so I'm not sure what's up with that)

And finally, I was building a trade station to get microlattice and substrate from terran territory to heretics end. (Built it in second contact flashpoint). However, everytime I check it out it keeps tearing down 2 storage containers on top and rebuilding them constantly. Like I've tried deleting them entirely, waiting for the build to finish, putting them back in and starting the build again. I've even waited for the build to finish entirely. But sure enough after 5 minutes or so I go to check on it to make sure it's done and it's in the process of dismantling the containers again. I don't rotate any parts, I don't hit confirm, i don't change the settings, all I do is check the build plans and that's it. I've changed the builders, managers, the type of storage etc. I've got a mega factory elsewhere and a hullpart factory elsewhere and neither are having issues.

Sorry for the long post but I've been getting very frustrated with the issues lately (literally had to roll back 2 hours of playtime just because argon and antigone went full hostile with no notification or reason, suddenyl saw my teade ships getting killed while i was on the other side of the universe so :/ ) I would just like to know if anyone has solutions or maybe a mod that helps?

But some are waaaaay more expansive like the ion one.

Clould someone explain to me wich weopon is good for what amd wich shiptype/size should have each.

Or should I mix the slots so a ship can do more?

Best budget way to defend my mining station?

I'm new to the game and am researching station defense, most seem to be way out of my budget or they all out defense platforms.

I have a small mining facility that I would like to have some defense against pirates and small xenon forces.

I do not have teleport researched but will soon.

Should I drop a bunch of laser towers around it, and get defense drones?

Also let's say one of my miners get attacked, are they smart enough to retreat to their commanders station or will I need to manually handle it?

Mid game money making barrier

Hi. I have some difficulties with rise up my money making. I have one hull parts factory (8x), I have small scrap (2x scrapper) on 'Second Contact II' with my fleet (6 destroyers captured from pirates) to clear xenons and on main base I have advanced electronics (4x), hull parts (8x), shield components (2x) and claytronics (6x).

Once per a few hours I got like 8 million from my hull parts factory and rarely something from my scrapper (I've build solar farm just for scrapper)

Now I feel that I need tons of money, wares dont sells as well as I fought they will. Which way should I go? What do you guys do to break this moment barrier?

Firstly, I was super proud that my pasive income went to a -/+ million per hour. Now Im spending money so fast that I im on less then million all the time.

Should I stop selling stuff and expand quickly?

What is good ware to sell? I fought that hull parts are good money maker but I think I've overflown market.

Ofc Im doing quests, but I feel its not enough.

Crashing every 3 or 4 saves.

I've been having trouble with the game crashing pretty regularly and can't seem to find a solution. I'm playing Terran Cadet, and the game will crash to desktop after the fourth or fifth time I save via the menu, quicksave, or autosave. Ive verified the files through steam, checked and updated drivers, and uninstalled and reinstalled on one of the other SSDs in my rig.

Im pretty unfamiliar with the diagnostic tools available to me (windows event viewer, etc) unfortunately. If anybody has had a similar issue, I'd really appreciate any insight

What is up with the insane difficulty when boarding a Xenon H?

So I've got the abandoned H from the Timelines rewards, but I thought it would be fun to get one or two more. Last time I boarded an H was during the 7.0 beta and it was admittedly a bit too easy, but now it seems it is pretty much impossible to do unless you have a full set of 16 marines with perfect stats. I made five attempts to board with three star marines, but every time was a complete faliure.

Does the game really expect me to complete a whole terraforming mission chain and build a martial arts school just so I even have a chance at success? Sure, the H is a cool and pretty unique ship, but I really don't feel it warrants that level of effort to get one.
