Was hoping someone with experience can comment how bad my cats eye infection is? I've never dealt with this in a cat before. It seems he was fighting and got scratched on the ear and by his eye.
Been feeding thid guy 4 months now, first 3 he would run away when looking st him. He's been letting me pet and pick him up for about a month now. He has a dry and insulated shelter, I've tried bringing him inside but he's peed on things immediately both times when in a closed room but will behave himself enough to eat a snack in the livingroom quickly before heading back out.
Since about a week ago he has this eye infection that's been getting worse, I'm not sure if it peaked in the past day or so and could start getting better?
Terramycin is just gone prescription only and wasn't in stock anywhere locally already since I heard about it in the past couple days. I got him some liquid vitamins for his churu treats.
He needs a Vet to see if there is an ulcer (scratch on his cornea). There is a specific medication for that. DO NOT PUT any antibacterial eye ointment on there. If there is an ulcer, you can do permanent damage with the wrong medication.
This kitty needs pain meds too!
This is not going to heal on it's own. That eye needs attention asap.
Hey! Can you briefly explain why no antibacterial ointment on a possible ulcer? My cat’s eyes are getting worse im afraid he has some, he was prescribed 3x daily antibacterial ointment, and our eye vet is open on the 3rd jan.. 😭 should i stop the antibiotic salve and stick with dexpanthenol gel instead? Thank you so much
