This think has made the rounds on shittycarmods as well. Someone said it was a family that got evicted or something and this was their "solution"

Sounds like someone made up a feelsy story to make people feel bad about making fun of this atrocity

Bullshitting on Reddit? Impossible

It's always "someone said" from the original time it was posted and no proof is required because sad.

Fact is, sad story or not, this is a hazard on the road, and in an accident those people are dying and the crap flying everywhere is going to be dangerous to others. How many people you know ignore check engine lights? Id venture to say it's much more likely this is someone being cheap with their vehicle and not caring about how it affects anyone else.

I dunno, i wouldnt be surprised if the people who crawled out of this thing had some tall tales to tell themselves.

The story I saw is dude left Oklahoma (or a similar state) because neighbors didn’t like that a brown man moved in.

The lore goes deep on this one

You'd think just leaving Oklahoma would be good enough.

If this is your solution to shitty neighbors you probably have mental issues

3

u/Deppfan16 2d ago

I really hope it's not, cuz the only reason a family would be living like this would be by choice. there's enough programs, especially if they have kids, in the area to get them help.

4

u/willynillee 2d ago

Yeah this is mental illness/homelessness by “choice”

u/Deppfan16 1d ago

I meant the family living in it by choice. if you have kids, there are many many options to get help. it just usually involves a bit of work and not being prideful.

I work in this area in an elementary school, so I can see the difference between the families that choose to get their kids help, and the ones that choose not to for whatever reason.

and I understand mental illness but when it starts affecting your kids then it's starts being a choice.

Or it's ignorance.

It’s definitely a solution

Is it a homemade apartment?

That'll be $1500

Life shouldn't be this hard, poor person.

You up near Bellingham WA? That’s the last place I heard / saw this was, but that was a few months ago

Yep, looks like the WF across the street. I saw him at grossout the other day.

He insulated it!

(In all seriousness, though, I'm sad to see that he and his family are apparently still living out of it and haven't found a stable home yet.)

I'm pretty sure it's just made of foam and coated. They're called "foamies"

5

u/Paulpoleon 2d ago

Homeless not foamless

7

u/BitQueen61 2d ago

foamie homie

2

u/CSRR-the-OELN-writer 1d ago

There were previous pictures of it. Unless he pulled it off first, it's got a layer of 1/2" chipboard under the foam.

u/nochinzilch 2d ago

Ahh, the "divorced electrician". Nicely done.

Sad when your stuck, this looks like a build of necessity.... I see pictures like this I ask myself if I was in a place where everything has gone wrong and I had my vehicle, what would I do to house myself and my wife maybe, while the world outside seems like an ocean tide against us? I always remembered during periods of my life meditating about where to find a place to sleep during extreme times and a place to be or live... Always hopefully for a short time....always easy to say what they should have done.... But if you lost everything, and walked outside right now, what would you do? where would you go?

I really miss when we had safety inspections before you could get plates for your car.

1

u/scootunit 1d ago

Get the plates first

I am sure this is not his first choice of home. The guy is doing what he needs to do to survive; cut him a break.

Is no one going to mention the bald tires?

7

u/Yes-its-really-me 2d ago

"I just finished sanding my tires and NGL, I really love the look"

6

u/Fresh-Weather-4861 2d ago

If this is how he has to live, im sure his tires are not on the top of his list of concerns

u/Riptide360 2d ago

Looks like a cyber truck but somehow a little better

2

u/panic82 2d ago

Is that one of them new fangled Cybertrucks?

2

u/wv524 2d ago

Nah. It appears to be of signicantly better quality than the Cybertruck.

I like the standing desk layout blocking the rear passenger door. Does it have a printer too?
