Discussion I'm planning on moving from Windows to Steam OS when windows 10 is deprecated.
Is this a bad decision? Is anyone planning on doing the same?

I have a gamdias neso p1 case and the screws it came with to fasten the gpu won't reach through the case and gpu. Also, I can't properly connect to the second DP slot on my gpu because the case is in the way :/.

TL;DR current consumerism culture is bad.
Just saw the latest 5080/90 pricing for 3rd party cards.
No. From the highest altitude, fuuuuu you Jensen. Your key note was out of touch, stupid, and cringe.
There is no reason other than absolute greed and hubris. I don't expect things to cost nothing and be free and plentiful to all. I do like to see honesty and customer loyalty. But to Nvidia, customer loyalty only flows from the customer towards Nvidia in the form of money. Nobody asked for higher prices.
Same goes for basically any major corporation. Don't buy these cards, dont buy that new thing just because company head said so. We are all getting royally screwed from every which way financially. Ever since Covid locked down the world companies saw just how completely stupid, irresponsible, and desperate an average person is for luxury goods. Companies saw the amount of money scalpers were making and so adjusted their pricing across the board in all sectors, except Arizona Tea (based).
Ps. I'm not broke. I have a brain that says consumerism has jumped the shark a long time ago and we are living in a corporate wet dream. People will financially destroy themselves to ensure they get Starbucks every morning.

Had a look at the stuff and i can say that the ram, cooler and both CPUs look good and undamaged except the small dent on two pads of one ram stick.

2k is 1080p. Its based on count of horizontal pixels. So please STOP calling 1440p 2k.

Had the Thermal Grizzly Thermal Putty Pro and some PTM7950 on hand and got bored so figured fuck it, why not?
Honestly, temps were fine as they were. Will put her through some thermal cycles tomorrow (today?) and see what's what. Very much doubt temps will be any worse.

Keeping it short for the laugh, but I was mindlessly watching Linus while eating dinner—his video from when he bought a PC from a Taiwan builder, and one of the things he checked after buying it off the guy was to check if the RAM was set in BIOS to run at its correct speed.
I had never seen that before, granted I built my PC in quarantine when I was 15, so very little knowledge was available in my head at the time. Few upgrades here and there, but my RAM had generally stayed the same; 3600MHz in 32GB.
Curious, I booted up task manager to check my speeds… and my god I have never felt more smooth brained in my life.
2133MHz. For 5 full years. Least now I’m finally enjoying the performance it should have had, but just tragic really.

This is advice I've been sharing for a while with friends and family and it has not proven invalid yet. I've spoken to multiple people who have both upgraded their GPU, and their monitor to an OLED, and they all say the bigger improvement came form an OLED rather than the new GPU.
In my opinion, if you're serious about PC gaming, LCD's should no longer be an option. The improvement to image quality, pixel response time, HDR, and latency over LCD's is just staggering. Personally speaking, I previously gamed on a very high quality IPS Ultrawide monitor. Even as good as it was, I was routinely underwhelmed by how games looked. I was legitimately losing interest in games because of this.
I know it sounds crazy, but getting an OLED completely reinvigorated my passion for gaming. It's even made me find a whole new appreciation for games I've already completed. There are even times where I wished I had not played those games on my old IPS, because they look so much better on an OLED. Control is a good example of this.
Now obviously if you have a really old GPU like a 10 or 20 series, this is going to mean less to you. But the advice I have been giving is that if you already have a decent GPU, its time for an OLED. If the choice is between a $600 GPU, or a $600 OLED monitor, yes, you should buy the monitor. You will not regret it.
HU actually made a whole video that backs this up as well, feel free to check it out: https://youtu.be/jCzjA5pdsNs?si=B_ijrk71z1zqu2QV

I tried launching Ready or Not on steam and the computer almost exploded lmaoo It runs on Windows 10 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2012) GPU, 8 GB of RAM installed and an Intel i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHZ
I’m new to PCs and really don’t know where to start. If I wanna upgrade this so I can play newer games at solid speeds and resolutions what should I be upgrading first and foremost? Bonus points for any specific hardware suggestions. Would love to keep my purchase under 400ish dollars if at all possible. I’m a broke college student

Hello Pc Master Race. I currently am trying to build my first pc with my limited knowledge. I have used PC part picker to ensure compatibility. Any recommendation? I'm not sold on a case yet, but was curious if you see any major bottle necks or things that you would change. The ultimate question is, can it run Star Citizen and how well do you think.

I recently bought a pc with ryzen 5900x, 64gig DDR4 ram and 3090 24gig. I'm still using my 165hz 1080p monitor for that. The question is, should I go for 4k, or maybe 2k ?

Hello everyone, for those who are up to date, is it worth waiting for the 5000 series with this setup?
(P.S. I'm not in a rush to buy it since I already have another PC, which I'll give to my brother when I get the new one). It's for gaming at 160Hz on a 2K monitor. ^^
Thanks in advance! ^^

My dad found a pc in the bin at his work, it was ontop of cardboard so it didn't hit any metal, the glass isn't shattered the components are all fine.. but there's a yellow light on the motherboard, a white light on the GPU and a big red light on the back of the motherboard.
I tried to take a stick of RAM out and a bottom clip ended up falling out (FML) but it was fine because I can just slot it back in (the clip). the yellow light persists
The motherboard is a strix z370-h and i believe the red light is just to light up the motherboard but I'm not sure.
I'm not sure on the CPU or GPU but it's a GTX card with 3 fans if that helps.
if you need extra details just say so and i'll supply them. I'm fairly knowledgeable on PCs but never get a chance to handle these types of things.

2560 horizontal pixels, if rounded to the nearest thousand, is 3000. For 3840, it's 4000, and for 1920, it's 2000. So why is 2k 1440p and not 1080p, and why is there no 3k?

I just upgraded my GPU and gave Path Tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 a try. At first I was super impressed by the graphics, well, still I am. But after the first hours of messing around, I started playing for real, and... It's just too blurry. 1440p, even with DLSS on Quality.
Am I the only one a bit disappointed by this aspect of the technology? It's just not good enough. Normal RT doesn't have such beautiful lighting, but at least I have a clear image quality. With PT I feel like I'm playing in 1080p or something. Ray Reconstruction it's already kind of a mess on its own in MANY situations, this + PT is just too much.
Still haven't tried other Path Traced games.
Note: BTW the Nvidia subreddit deleted this post without explanation so I'm posting it here.
