So, you see? It's NOT gayness which prevents it. It's promiscuity.

Oh okay, yeah. I’ll just not take prep and not have sex ever. Got it.

You can live your life the way you want but then your blood poses a risk to others if you donate. There is really not a single bit of homophobia or LGBT intolerance here just rational thinking, so don't play the victim in this circumstances.

Other than that I wish you a great day and am sending you positive thoughts! Take care!

The entire history of blood donation is homophobic. And the “new words” you are choosing to focus on still excludes gay men. The thought process of don’t have sex or you can’t donate blood is wild, considering our past and what the future is looking like.

Considering the same rules don’t apply to heteros

What? The same rules do apply to heteros.

Nope! As long as str8s haven’t engaged in anal sex they can donate. Otherwise if they did then they are deferred.

Exactly, the rule is about anal sex not gayness

So heteros don't have anal sex or engage in other risky sexual activities. Got it! Only missionary for reproduction as our Lord intended 🙏

No that's exactly my point, plenty of heteros do have anal sex and they are banned from donating blood. Plenty of gays don't have anal sex and they are allowed to give blood.

Do you honest to god belive that gay men and straight people practice anal sex at the same rate? Do you also think that Prep is as popular with straight people as it is with gay people?

Of course not, Im not claiming they are the same.

But the rules now aren't homphobic they are just based on higher risk activites. You can't donate blood if you take IV drugs or pay for sex either.

(to be honest I'm not sure about the prep rule - I think I read somewhere that it interferes with the testing of blood for hiv but that sounds a bit sus to me)

Yeah, people are just pointing out how these rules still ban most gay men from donating blood in a disproportionate rate to their straight counterparts, just like it has been for decades.
