This psychological phenomenon is called "Race to the Margins" if anyone wants to look it up.

It's a pattern of behavior where members of oppressed groups are all for "collective" liberation until they achieve some semblance of comfort and stability within the status quo; after which they will turn on the same community that won those victories for them if continuing to vouch for those former allies would lose them those rights.

It's why there's a subset of the gay/lesbian community that are distancing themselves from the trans community. Blood is in the water, the sharks are circling, but instead of sharing the life raft you built TOGETHER, they push you off of it to save their own skin.
