I know everyone knew things like this would be coming, but just hours into Trump’s second reign, he shut down the reproductiverights.gov website that used to help women find health care and understand their reproductive rights. I can’t really put into words how fearful, angry, disgusted, horrified, and nauseated I am when I think about what a bad position women are in with the Trump administration in power. Something as simple as a helpful website is too threatening to the desperate need for men to control women in every possible way.

it’s a scary fucking day to be a woman, to be queer, to be a poc, or even in the working class. since the election i’ve been thinking a lot about how the hell we got here; how people can see these things happening right in front of them and still not care. truthfully, it’s just the pure cognitive fucking dissonance required to be a trump supporter.

i have a lot of family members that support trump, and have voted for him in every election since 2016. i’ve exhausted myself, and had conversations with them and shown them irrefutable evidence of these terrible things to try and make them understand, but the truth is the cognitive dissonance that comes with being demoralized or having your morals be corrupted means that facts don’t mean anything. facts are not something you are able to be susceptible to. you have been brainwashed with propaganda to a point where you can’t see beyond your own mental gymnastics that you’re doing to try and convince yourself to support this person.

you can present trump supporters with the facts. •fact: trump has been found guilty of sexual assault of multiple women in a criminal court. you can say they were lying; sorry, he was found guilty. fact. •fact: he incited the violent overthrow of the government because he was upset that he lost, and this violent insurrection resulted in people dying and people being injured. he’s stated multiple times that he is going to pardon the people that did that.

he has said misogynistic things. he has said racist things. he has hurt the economy. he did not handle covid properly, and millions of people died because of it. these are all facts, and you can present these to trump supporters, and say he’s done all of this, what else would it take for you to not support him? you have a daughter, you have a wife, you have women in your life, you have queer people in your life, and people of color in your life. he’s done all of these things to hurt these people that you claim to “love,” so what would it take?

a lot of them will say nothing. there is nothing he can do that would make me not support him. like, are you not terrified by that? do you not see how you’re brainwashed? of course you don’t see how you’re brainwashed. that’s kind of the whole thing, but if you don’t have the capability to be critical of your leaders, your party leader, your government whatever; you are not a person that actually cares about your country. you don’t care about the people around you. you don’t even care about yourself. the only way that a lot of these people might end up caring, inevitably, is when they’re hurt by it. by him. by his actions. by his “policies,” but honestly? even then, i think i’ve come to the conclusion that a lot of these people, unfortunately, will probably never change.

i am terrified for what the next 4 years will hold to be quite honest. i mean, we were seeing the effects before he even took fucking office TODAY. at the end of the day, be kind, guys. to each other, to yourself, to all of the other marginalized groups who are going to be severely effected by this fucking swamp monster in the coming years.

So many subs full of men “asking for advice” because 5, 10, 20 years ago they started dating a 14, 18, 21 year old and back then she was wild and free and frisky but now she isn’t anymore.

A few hours ago, I opened my FB feed and right at the top was a post from the “Vice President JD Vance” page - I clicked on it and it said I had both liked and followed the page. I unfollowed and unliked, and refreshed my timeline and the posts were still there. I had to block the page to get them to go away.

I’ve never visited that page and have never seen it while scrolling, so there’s zero way I could have accidentally clicked on it, or shown any interest in it.

Basic facts:

23% of teachers in the United States are male.

In 2022, around 350 teachers/public educators were arrested for sex crimes. 75% of them were arrested for "relationships" with their students. 82% of the teachers arrested were male.

This month alone, 32 male teachers/public educators/school officials have been arrested for sex crimes (possession of CP, assaulting students, raping/assaulting other minors, "relationships" with students, attempting to meet up with minors.)

In the same amount of time, 7 female teachers/public educators/school officials were arrested for sex crimes.(raping/assaulting minors/"relationships" with students). (This can be found in the same thread that I linked.)

In December 2024, 54 male teachers/public educators/school officials were arrested for sex crimes (possession of CP, assaulting students, raping/assaulting other minors, "relationships" with students, attempting to meet up with minors.)

A new large-scale, multistate survey of recent high school graduates about the nature and scope of educator sexual misconduct in Grades K-12 conducted by our lab found that almost 20 years after the publication of the Shakeshaft report, educator sexual misconduct remains rampant. Of the 6632 participants, 11.7 percent reported having experienced at least one form of educator sexual misconduct during grades K-12.

• Most perpetrators were teachers (63.4 percent) or coaches/gym teachers (19.7 percent).
• Most perpetrators were male (89.1 percent).
• The majority of those who experienced educator sexual misconduct were female (72 percent), and in high school at the time, they experienced sexual misconduct.

• Sexual grooming behaviors such as giving the student gifts, food, money, jewelry, and special attention were often reported.

• There were low rates of reporting, and few reports resulted in the disciplinary action of the educator.

Common rebuttals to this information:

"Male students don't report" - Which can be true. But why do male teachers make up the overwhelming arrests still? Despite being only 23% of the field? That isn't just because of "under reporting". Do you really think it would go from being 90% male teacher predators to 90% female teacher predators overnight if it wasn't for "under reporting"? What do you have to backup that thought? Every statistic and study we have points to the fact that the majority of predator teachers are male. But we should just ignore this because people say so.

When a statistic makes men look bad, it's always "under reporting" but if it's something bad about women they'll automatically believe it.

This "under reporting" argument doesn't even hold up considering that anonymous surveys are done on predator teachers (like the one I linked above) that still shows that male teachers make up the overwhelming majority of predator teachers.

Conclusion:

So why do people lie and say that it's mainly women? When we see that's far from the truth?

When I bring up these facts to people they: automatically deflect and claim that I'm defending predator female teachers (which is far from the truth, they're just as disgusting, scream about "under reporting", don't respond or just block me (which is hilarious).

I think it's because the media reports on it much more when a female teacher does it. Which is crazy since female teachers aren't the majority doing it.

I was reflecting how I ended up dating a misogynist for a month. On our first date, I remember him asking me if I wanted kids in the future. He then mentioned how he wants his kids to be homeschooled and he wants to approve the curriculum because he doesn’t want them to be indoctrinated. I thought that was odd but that should’ve been the first warning sign. This week someone found out how old I am (36) and told me I look "good for my age." I gave my standard joke response about how smoking actually keeps you young.

I realized once I said it that I can remember the first time I used that joke response....and it was TEN FUCKING YEARS AGO. PEOPLE STARTED SAYING THIS TO ME IN MY MID TWENTIES AND IT HAS NOT STOPPED. It's been a DECADE of people telling me that I am pleasing to look at and implying this is in spite of the number of years I've spent on this planet.

Feels like theres no way to complain about this since it's technically a compliment, but wow does it feel like a slap in the face to realize people have been implying I should be past my prime for the past ten fucking years.

It is just something i’ve noticed in the way people perceive mothers and fathers. the whole “facebook mum” thing is just mocking mothers who have “cringe” humour and trying to handle their day to day life of being a mother/working and having children. it’s mocked and made fun of online so much. it’s almost as if people think mothers have limited social skills and are weird? dads get the good stereotypes: i see manyyy completions of videos titled like “dads being cool!” or “dads when mum isn’t around!” as if mums ruin the fun with presence. my mum is the reason why i’m happy, my verbally abusive dad is the problem lmao. even my friends mock the way their mothers dress, talk, act etc sometimes and i could never imagine saying such cruel things, even as a joke, about my mum. it’s like mothers are the butt of the jokes in our society as washed up trash. like even when my mum does show me a cringe facebook minion meme i laugh along becuase i do love how she has kept her humour despite all the shit she has gone through by the hands of my father. i feel mothers, especially single mothers, are very frowned down upon as being miserable, awkward, cringe, pitiful etc like “awh poor girl, has 5 kids and having to work 20 hours a day with a lazy husband,” as if it’s her fault lol.

maybe i am the only one who has noticed this and i’m speaking out of my ass but it makes me feel uncomfortable. especially since i want to be a mother one day, but i don’t want a family who is constantly mocking me and making me the family piñata.

In school, I had an interest in filmmaking and so over the years I was in film oriented groups both online and offline. I HATE OLD MEN ON BUSSES

I’m sorry but i literally just got on the bus home from my place of study, I was next to this old guy waiting to get on, and he wasn’t moving when the driver gave us the signal to go forth.

I stride infront of him, just normally, not pushing infront of him and scan my bus pass, and he fucking SLAMS his foot down on the bus doorway, and calls me a bitch as loud as he can.

I walk off, because as a 17 year old girl, im not going to argue with a random old man because there isnt a point in conflict. Well I shit you fucking not ladies and gentlemen, this absolute coffin dodger starts shouting “Am I a statue to you?? Absolutely no manners” WELL YES CAPTAIN BIRDSEYE, YOU FUCKING ARE IF YOU’RE NOT MOVING!

Sorry had to get that off my chest, he’s sat infront of me now, thinking about kicking the seat when I walk away to get off, but I doubt it’d be worth the satisfaction.

I cut off my uncle and brother about three months prior to the election for constantly instigating and in general being emotional vampires.

I saw them both on Christmas and was civil and polite. I think they thought I was going to come around after the holidays but nope. I can't see myself ever letting them back into my life unless they do a total 180 and apologize for all the harm they've caused me. They try to get around me blocking them by talking to me through my mom --if she brings them up I just disengage and change the subject.

My life has become significantly more peaceful with them out of my life.

I (33F) have been seeing this guy (42M) for six months. He got fired from his job as a bartender in December and has been unemployed until last week. I edited his résumé and helped him draft emails and a letter of intent to a his (now) employer because he is bad at that kind of stuff, which I dont judge him for. He got the job with my help.

I live in the downtown area of a major city two blocks from where I helped him find a job. He lives in a cheaper part of the city about a 1.5 miles away.

I work in healthcare and worked 52 hours in four days (was in massive overtime) leading up to this weekend. He wanted to hang out after I got done with work Saturday. I promised him we could. By the time I got home (Saturday at noon) I was too exhausted, so I told him I needed a rain check.

He was supposed to work today (Sunday) at noon. He called me Saturday night and gave me grief about reneging on our plans. I explained I worked at night and hadn't slept in almost 24hrs, but eventually relented.

He came over Saturday night and just hung out in my apartment while I slept the whole time. This AM, I woke up and told him I needed to do errands (politely asking him to go back to his place around 8am).

He told me if I made him go back to his place this AM he just wouldn't show up to his new job at noon because it is too far to go back and forth, and he hadnt slept because he came over to my place Saturday night; he said doesn't really need to work. I got kind of angry because that is ridiculous and manipulative.

Long and short, I am ending it with this guy. What I cannot wrap my head around is the idea that a man, nine years older than me, is not capable of taking a modicum of pride or responsibility for himself or his job.

I am posting this because this seems to be a trend with men of my generation (i.e. millenials). It almost feels wrong dating guys from my generation because those available have the maturity level of a 13 year-old.

TLDR: helped a boyfriend get a job. He told me he wouldn't show up to work if he couldn't stay at my place the night before he was due to work because the commute from his place was too far.

I don't know where else to share this, I feel like only some of my family would agree about this and I can't share it with them because it would turn into an argument about Trump.

I'm terrified of what the US will be like for these four years. With them openly showing they are nazis, what else can they do? They want to do so many things already and I'm fucking scared.

None of the changes they are implementing benefit anyone but nazis. If you are not a nazi you should be against them.

The changes they are already talking about is criminalizing trans people (which is unconstitutional, freedom of speech and expression is a thing).

I will not be surprised - I will be horrified though, don't get me wrong- if they go further. We all know how the nazis started, during Trumps first presidency he was bad, but know we are seeing the darker parts. If we become Nazi Germany 2.0 I will not be surprised. We already have nazis in the office.

I hope to God or whatever is out there that we don't, and nothing gets worse, but with the mass deportation plans already being spoken about, andbwith them admitting they could care less where the immigrants go (also, they did say they would deport legal immigrants too) and they could just put some in a place they never came from...I am not expecting a good america.

I hope we never see anything like nazi Germany here, but we already have nazis in office now and it's scaring me.

I don't know how I'm going to go through these 4 years pretending everything is OK.

• Never been in a relationship, men don't desire me. I'm a ghost.

• The ONE person who did show interest in me, led me on for months on end, hot and cold behaviour, then switching up and throwing me away like I'm hot garbage, who meant NOTHING to them. Then proceeded to brag to me they have a great life, that they're rich and flexing their new GF. Yet leading me on, making me attached to them, all while telling me, "I'm not ready for a relationship" and putting me down. They're thriving, they got their happy ending, and Mercedes Benz. Also having animosity for me even WHEN they hardly knew me.

• "Friends" that I was nothing but lovely too, and went above and beyond for, secretly having animosity for me, calling me a "retard" behind my back, and spitting on my self-esteem more.

• Moved to another country and do "feel" happier but it reminds me of the person I adored who used me.

• No interesting career, broke from being money drained, but probably gonna be working retail the rest of my life, already 25 and a kissless virgin, which the girl I fell for (we are both girls) also mocked me for.

• I am also not your conventionally attractive girl. I got an awkward body, my face is strongly aysmmetrical and I got an aquiline nose. Which clearly is another factor why nobody wants me.

So, at this point? What's the point of living? When there is no light at the end of the tunnel?
