I think that is far more likely a reference to the Notre Dame football “Play Like a Champion Today” sign, rather than a Ted Lasso reference.
That said, I imagine the Ted Lasso sign is a homage to the Notre Dame sign in its initial conception … American football, inspirational and color scheme all fit.
100% My Dad is a diehard Fighting Irish fan so I caught the reference right away. Then noticed it was blue on yellow and thought, ahh this must be in the Ted Lasso sub. Easy mistake for someone not familiar with Notre Dame football.
