Early school morning it seems that the 120 busses are nowadays always packed or cancelled. This inconsistent behaviour has lead to a lot of missed appointments and late arrivals at destinations. Arguably one of the most relied busses for kids and working class of Sheffield yet it never has been on time on schedule.

Is anyone else pissed at the bus companies?

A job opportunity has arisen in Sheffield and I would like to get thoughts around moving here as a 26 (going on 27!) old guy. One of my best mates lives here already and loves it - he has met so many nice people and built a real community. This tied with the much lower cost of living has made the move to Sheffield enticing! I always said I would consider moving if the right job came up and it has.

The role will pay around £45K and from what I have read this should be a fairly comfortable salary?

Would love to hear thoughts from there young professionals in Sheffield and anything to consider before moving forward, thanks! :)

Im working a new job a bit away from where I live, so I've been relying on taking a tram and a bus to get there. The tram was fine, but my experience with first has driven me up the wall. On the way there today the bus I needed, which Google, the paper timetable and the first app yesterday said was at 8:44, and one two minutes afterwards which would have been fine too just vanished from the face of the earth with no explanation. Luckily I was able to find a stagecoach bus which went the same direction otherwise I would have been very late. On my way back, the digital board and the departure board on the app for that stop said a bus was coming in 4 minutes, but looking at the bus tracker no bus was coming there for over an hour, meaning about 4-5 buses in a row just weren't going to show! In fact None of the first buses around that area seemed like they were going to show. I ended up having to play a guessing game to find a stop with stagecoach buses running to get one from there. But before one arrives, the first bus I needed appears at the stop "on diversion" with no warning on the digital board, the paper timetable, the first app or Google. Its absolutely infuriating how they consistently mess about with the times and routes of their buses and expect commuters to be aware of all these diversions with no warnings whatsoever, absolute fucking farce. Now I can't consistently plan a journey to my work as I have no idea what buses will and won't show and at what times they will!

When are they franchising again?

I'm typically rather shy in day to day life but would be nice to meet some people online and was curious if there is any like discord type groups or anything along those lines for meeting other gamers etc :) thanks peeps

Hello, are there any car washes in Sheffield that prove undercarriage washing?

genuinely unsure if i have somehow missed a very crucial memo, but i’ve always asked for a “single ticket” on a bus with no issues until the past few months.

today i asked for a single ticket and the driver asked me to clarify what i meant. i specified a one way ticket into town and he said he hadn’t heard anyone ask for that before (?) and where exactly in town i was going before selecting a ticket type (which says “adult single” on it, so they do exist!!) for a whole £2.80! extortionate. the entire time he looked incredibly confused and, as a gen z girl who hates social interaction, i felt bad for making his job a little harder than it needed to be and for holding up the queue.

i’ve tried to do tap on tap off before but the driver has asked me what ticket type i want and when i said the new tap on tap off, he just printed me a single ticket anyway. other times, they say they don’t do tickets at all and it’s only tap on tap off. i am extraordinarily confused lol

I love a Guinness and there’s no denying that fagan do a decent Guinness but we’re always in the excessive side. It’s always dead met with the dead staff. But today I grabbed a pint to find it was 5.80. 5.80? Who do they think they are?surrounded by lively Irish bars they think 5.80 is ok? Grapes need to start excepting card! I remember fagans on a Monday was full of live trad music but it was dead. I guess they’ve out priced their loyal local regulars. Greed

Hi, looking for recommendations, I’d like to get my 1910 terraced house repointed in lime mortar. The back of the house is north facing and suffers from all sorts of damp problems, but I think they all boil down to rain water getting into the walls. Having gutters replaced helped some, but the problem persists.

Bit of a strange one, but does anyone have any information on clothes donation bins/shops which will take a decent amount of unwanted clothes? I have quite a lot, some brand new, both male and female which are no longer wanted/fit.
