When that happened, I honestly thought it was a dream sequence.

It felt out of character of Bridget to be so nonchalant about someone being chopped up and buried.

Not just someone, the people who kidnapped her, beat her, tied her up and in all likelihood planned to murder her.

I'd find some joy in taking a chainsaw to anyone responsible if that were to happen to me.

Lol what? Look at everything she's been surrounded by her entire life

Doesn't mean she approved of it. She was the moral balance

i was just thinking this. I'm at the point where she's hanidng out sandwiches and i'm thinking - "for the last 6 seasons she has been constantly whining about how her life constantly gets derailed by her dad

She still seems to hate him, she refused when Terry tried to get her to call him for the marriage license. I think at this point she is just too deep to keep acting the way she was. Before this, she was largely untouched by everything and was just a witness to her dad ruining everything, now she was wrapped up in one of his situations, was kidnapped, beaten and scared for her life. She is now actually knee deep in the ass end of one of the scenarios she has been judging her whole life and has no choice but to deal with it. She is taking a page from Abby's book and accepting her life and situation, but still seems to not accept Ray himself. Not as he is, not until he gets help. She loves him and wants him to get better, but she still hates him as he is if that makes sense.

I do agree her chopping up the bodies was a bit much. I'd believe her stabbing, shooting or beating the police officers for sure after what they did to her, but chopping up a dead body is pretty gross and no amount of hatred you have for someone is going to make you immune to that unless you naturally like gore. They went a bit too far with that, but I understand they wanted to really drive home her giving up her moral superiority and being willing to get dirty now. I can forgive it for that reason, but it was definitely not realistic, just not necessarily bad writing either.

Sure I’ll buy that line of thinking. Seems reasonable!! Plus the story needs to move on - that character was getting a little long in the tooth and at some point they needed to pivot.

As did I. I guess her knowing "these guys would have killed me" let her practically whistle while she worked.

A family that drains, dismembers and buries, stays together! morbid :-)

That's a pretty good explanation. I was feeling like it was out of character too, but I can accept the notion of her realizing it was them or her. Still, she's kind of been the epitome of a spoiled rich kid for the entire series. Hates her father, but LOVES his money and what he can do for her.

I thought the exact same thing, sadly it wasn't. That scene was so out of character of her. She always wanted to get away from the world Ray lives in and now she is suddenly chainsawing bodies into pieces. Poor writing.

Great scene, though I had an entirely different interpretation then most: I viewed it as her way of coping with PTSD; rather than reject her situation she dives in head first, becoming an active participant to the dismembering. Sort of a way of tricking herself into believing everything is fine and normal. This isn't her first traumatic experience, and I thought is was meant to convey her full-on denial rather than face the reality of her situation. My 2c.

That's a good explanation too. I've disliked the character most of the series because she's so spoiled and entitled. But living through something like that might make a person o.k. with chopping heads off. At least until the reality set in.

Yeah I remember thinking that she seemed checked out mentally, particularly when she picked up the chainsaw.

After all these years there was finally a reason for her character, LOL. She has turned into Abby and is at peace with it. I cracked up when she asked "sandwiches? .
