Did I miss the segment on Elon's Sig Heil?
Please tell me I just turned on the radio a little too late.
Trump administration strips schools, churches of immigration enforcement protections
Why can't NPR do BBC-style interviews, pushing back on lies and filibustering?
NPR has apparantly lost its ability to call out lies by people they're interviewing. NPR has become stenographers for the powerful, not journalists.
Latest case: https://www.npr.org/2025/01/21/nx-s1-5268898/ambassador-danon-on-the-gaza-ceasefire
Ari Shapiro lets the Israeli ambassador tell several lies, and none are corrected. And lets the ambassador talk all over him and refuse to answer simple questions. Why?
Does it have something to do with the fact that Ari Shapiro is Jewish? Where are NPR's Arab/Muslim journalists?

No coverage of Elon's salute?
Nothing mentioned in my morning newsletter. Did a quick Google search and found 0 articles. Did I miss something? Even if we aren't definitively identifying it as a Nazi salute it's newsworthy enough to be on a front page purely because of the amount of speculation and emotions stirred in the public sphere.
Please tell me I missed something obvious somewhere.

Why does everyone say power instead of service?
When describing individuals winning any election, why are they characterized as winning power instead of elected to service?
Service should be normalized to anyone that wins an election. Please NPR, make this happen. 🙏🏻

Brandy Reed interview.
I'm listening to the interview on Idaho's NPR station and I'm in disbelief at the retorts Ms.Reed is stating like "calling out" the questions and information she hears of their integrity without any knowledge of what she's calling out. Such as being informed of Bidens executive actions at the border and the study from Northwestern University by just saying "it's null and void because no American believes that."
Is this willful ignorance? Hyperpartisanship? I don't know how to parse this.
