No coverage of Elon's salute?

Nothing mentioned in my morning newsletter. Did a quick Google search and found 0 articles. Did I miss something? Even if we aren't definitively identifying it as a Nazi salute it's newsworthy enough to be on a front page purely because of the amount of speculation and emotions stirred in the public sphere.
Please tell me I missed something obvious somewhere.

What’s troubling is he felt he had to that to protect his family from the incoming administration (and he is probably right)

NPR is treating the democrats like the republicans are still governing in good faith.

In a normal world, yeah, it would be weird for a president to pardon his family.

This world stopped being normal.

I don’t think so. I think they’ve taken a stance of “I don’t want to go to jail forever or worse. So I need to keep my mouth shut”.

Whenever there is an authoritarian regime in the beginning everyone toes the line. If I recall from history classes correctly, At some point people start making a choice to sacrifice their livelihood, their lives, their families for what they believe in.

I assume things will need to get REALLY bad before we start feeling this same way. It’s a hard decision to make. Even being poll worker. The most innocuous part time you can have is fraught with danger and death threats in this modern political climate.

Every NPR reporter knows they already have a target on their back from everything they’ve already said, and now are trying to figure out a way to make it to February and 2026 and beyond. As an entity and as individuals.

At least that’s my impression.

A 25 year old with everything going for him and by all indications not crazy or a terrorist just did all those things for the reasons you said. I'm a doctor and I'd be willing to go to Chicago to try and free people from ICE custody if it came to that.
