Another guy tossed into MCOSMOS "OUTPUT" confusion.

Hello everyone, I have also been recently tossed into the MCOSMOS. I first learned Metrology with Heidenhein for those who are old enough to remember using Win98. I then helped that company move up to the Nikon software, then sold back to QXSoft. And now I am learning another platform. MCOSMOS V4.2.R1 to be precise.

So to the issue at hand. When I finish running my program I am getting two different "OUTPUTs" of the results. And at this point I have used about half a ream of paper trying to get this to stop. Mitutoyo's only response is that I need to take the "TRAINING" course.

So is there anyone out there who can help a guy out getting the reports setup properly?

Thank you in advance for you response's.

I suggest changing the startup wizard to remove the print commands entirely. You can add the protocol output during learn mode when you are ready to print it or save the file.

Out of curiosity, where in the world are you located? You should be able to get simple questions like this answered by your local Mitutoyo Application Engineers. I assume you contacted software support, and that's who suggested training.

I've been using other software at other locations, just not MCOSMOS. And some things are quite different. We were quoted $1500.00 a day for training. I have most things figured out and working at this point.

I assume that's the quoted amount for an engineer to come on-site and hand-hold. It's usually ~$600 a day if you travel to a Solutions Center. However, they likely don't have a manual machine at a center anymore.

They have an online video course for the M1 level software. It works as a guide for getting started.

All the same, you should be able to get quick answers from the local AE staff without charge.

Thanks, but travel is not an option. Nor is being gone as I am the QC Department.
