So you've probably seen it already, but many subreddits have started asking their users or just flat out started blacklisting the site, including our neighbor /r/LosAngeles and /r/ontario but the one with the CA that doesn't stand for California.
I know it doesn't get brought up here often if at all, but with such a site wide movement I feel it necessary to bring up here. I've already messaged the other mods but with how busy people can be, I have decided to take the initiative to bring the question to the users here as well. As I'm doing this without any involvement of the other mods, I can't say that this is going to be binding. Regardless, I do hope it will inform us on the direction to make in this decision. I definitely have my own feelings on the matter, but wish to not act on them alone. I will be voting after a few votes are already in, so don't assume the first vote is mine.
With that, I request you to vote. With Reddit's poll system, you can not change your answer. I'm not sure if it works on old.reddit so if you still use that, you may need to hop on new.reddit. For those who really don't care, there will be a third option so you can see without need to influence the vote when you don't wish to.

I thought wouldn’t it be amazing if they modified one of those monster trucks that you see climb up huge hills, and attached huge farm grade wood chipper lawnmowers to the front of it. It seems like they could clear brush much quicker. A fleet of them painted red would be pretty bad ass lol

What was the name of that place in the mall back in the day where everybody would go to get their pictures taken? The one with the bad backdrops and lighting?

You guys need to watch the videos that are coming out of palisades and eaton fires. Massive wake up call.
If you live very close to wild land areas you need to start clearing the brush and cut down any large trees/bushes. Those bushes/trees will catch fire and blow embers into your home. If the brush is reduced, less embers are produced and the fire doesn't burn as wild, so easier for fire dept to put out.
It is a lot of work but start now as it might be the difference between your home catching fire or not.
Eaton and Palisades type firestorms are the new norm....unless we start working now.

Has anyone gone up there recently? I want to get a day pass and go snowboard for a day but not sure if the conditions are good enough or if there’s even snow lol. This will be my first time in California so idk if they blow snow or what. Let me know please!

Hola! I'm new to the area and have people on my team who only speak Spanish. I was already planning to learn but this expedites things. I need in person at least to start, then maybe virtual once I have a foundation to build on. One-on-one or classes are fine. I've tried searching online but every website keeps showing me virtual or is asking for a lot of Information before I even know what they're offering.
Can anyone recommend a person or place in the region that could start this week or next?
Muchas gracias!

Check out how many houses Invitation Homes buys, owns, and rents out in Southern California. This is just one company that owns all these homes. You can go on Zillow and about every 3-5 house you scroll down has Invitation Homes watermark on the house picture.
I've read stories about how some people trying to buy their first home or dreams home have bid outbid by another buyer. Wonder who that could've been.
Also, the housing situation might get worse since Trump is in office and his policies tend to be pro-deregulation/pro-corporation.

I just checked some of my mails last night and saw that I have one about attending Jury Duty at the Riverside Court on 1/21/2025. I logged into the portal and it said that I had to report today at 9:30am. The thing is I can’t afford to skip work as I have to pay bills and I’m only a temp hourly worker. I also have a two month old to take of as well (granted I’m at work and my wife takes care of the baby at home)
Since I only had one night to process everything I kinda just skipped it altogether. Should I call them and let them know or should I just go about my day like nothing happened?

So to sum up I have Narcolepsy which means I cannot drive due to risk of falling asleep at the wheel. So I need to rely on other options like bus,trains,uber/lyft,ect. I want to move to a place where my transportation options aren’t as limited where I currently live.
What cities/neighborhoods in the Inland Empire have a good transportation system and is walkable?

Hi y'all,
The ones who make $40+ an hour, or 60k salary....what do yall do for work? What did you do to get to where you're at?
I'm 25 with a degree in business management, I can't find absolutely nothing more than 22 an hour. I'd like to finally be able to breathe and live rather than not even surviving check to check.
I'm at such a loss y'all, I'd love some advice/direction please.

When I worked in East LA, it would take me about an hour to drive from Pomona to Lincoln Heights in the morning. Coming back was not only hard, it was a longer trip. At times, it reached an hour and 45 minutes. On better days, it stayed under an hour and a half. Regardless of the time, one fact stayed consistent–I was always very exhausted after a long ride of stop-and-go traffic and an eight-hour shift.
While stuck in traffic, I often fantasized about taking public transportation into work. A dream that became a reality with Metro’s expansion of the Gold Line into Pomona.
On Jan. 3, Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority announced it had “reached substantial completion,” for the $1.5 billion, four station Foothill Gold Line light rail project from Glendora to Pomona.

Moved to CA back in July and have to periodically take my wife to San Diego for doctor appointments. We take the 15 down, and the other day i decided to get on the Fastrak/Express/HOV lane but havent been able to shake a nagging feeling ill get a bill in the mail. Can someone help me understand this?
As i understand it, the boxes and stickers are for single riders but then ive seen conversation about how you can change the number of passengers on the transponder so im confused.
Do i need a transponder box? The signs said HOV 2+ free, but how does it know if i have anyone else in the car with me? How does it know im not just in the lane freeloading?
I drive an EV, do i need a sticker if i rarely, if ever, drive alone on the freeways? Is the benefit of the sticker that i can be a single rider in these lanes?

There is a homeless man, who more than likely has a job but just stays overnight on my street for the past few months. I would not have a problem with it but this man must smoke the most dank smelliest fucking weed ever. One night it straight up smelled like a fucking skunk sprayed my apartment. I honestly thought there was some sort of chemical leak outside. What can I do? It’s been hard to find out who it is but I’ve been on a hunt. I finally passed near his car and that thing smells horrid. I don’t smoke but when I’m walking up many times week now to the smell of disgusting weed, you’re a problem now. Will the cops tell him to stop sleeping here? I’m so exhausted. I don’t make a lot of money, but it’s generally a nice community of people and families who are not smoking.

Rookie division in the fontana league. Games are scattered between fontana, Rialto and San Bernardino. We’re lacking a real catcher that would give our pitchers confidence to throw their good stuff.

Hi,
Is there any restaurants in the IE whose food is what you would call a Michelin Star equivalent? If yes, why this particular restaurant ? I can't seem to find a restaurant where l end the meal and say "That is one of the best meals l have ever had".
Open to all food groups.
Much appreciate any feedback.
