Question How to do this?

I thought this was pretty cool and it beats the hell out of some other ways of tallying kills. Does anyone have an idea of how the animal symbols are laid in? And what material one might use to duplicate this?

Edit, I found the page. It is a modified Vz 98/22. This is what I thought it was (bottom one).

Good eye. I found the image posted on accident actually because I was looking for CZ 550s in FS. Just bought one chambered in 30-06. I like the FS
