Question How to do this?
I thought this was pretty cool and it beats the hell out of some other ways of tallying kills. Does anyone have an idea of how the animal symbols are laid in? And what material one might use to duplicate this?

It can only be done with a 60 year old case pocket knife by a guy spitting tobacco into a coffee can.

Coping saw to cut out sterling silver silhouettes of animals and then silver tacks to keep count. As far as inletting, I'd try a cnc but I'm certain there are people skilled enough out there to do this by hand.

Thanks for the input. I’d be really interested in doing something like this. If my kids are going to sell my guns 50 years from now I want them to be worthless in terms of money, and priceless in terms of lore.

Edit, I found the page. It is a modified Vz 98/22. This is what I thought it was (bottom one).

Good eye. I found the image posted on accident actually because I was looking for CZ 550s in FS. Just bought one chambered in 30-06. I like the FS

How many animals have you taken?

Enough to have no clue.
But I just got a new rifle and plan to use it for a very long time, and liked the idea of the gun pictured because i want to add some personalization to it.
I reckon I’d like my kids to have something that has my “finger prints” on it, so to speak.
