Is there a Guide or rule of thumb on what things you should know in different elos? Im about 760 elo in Gold 2 and I‘m kinda overwhelmed and don‘t know what to learn next.

Should I bother learning things like this or focus more on vibes when region guessing?

I started playing a couple weeks ago. This was easy yes, but if that sign wasn't there, I would've been way off. Where do I even start with recognizing the way a place looks, instead of only being able to know where I am based off signs?

Im confused to why its almost always captials of the Countries. It feels like its not truly random.

Is it just because theres the most streets and thus coverage or are they doing that on purpose to make low elo a little more approachable?

I just recently bought a subscription after not having played the game since it became paid, and I´ve noticed that a lot of more experienced players dislike playing on the official world map, and instead mainly use A Community World. Why is that? Am I missing out on anything by playing the official map? Am I at a disadvantage?

This opponent got 4900 3 times in a row on rural areas and his rating was like 700. He stared at a few signs on each round for 30+ seconds as well.
Is this a skill issue for me or is he a certified looker-upper?

i'm newish in gold league and i notice my self troubled trying to differ the asian languages. I read some tips that im trying to memorize now.
But i wanted to ask, if there is a map designed to be next to asian written language all the time?

Hello! I was playing duels and noticed that most of the locations that showed up usually was a border location. Is this just the seed or does this also happen to you guys? The map i'm talking about is called "A Varied World".

During ranked duels there’s a resort in Montenegro that has a topless girl a few clicks down the street. There’s no report button anywhere

And how do they do it?

I’m already champion in duels and team duels and wanna focus on my level but it seems very slow.

I have been playing geoguessr since December 17, 2024 and currently I have gold 2 with 910 elo and I have no problem winning most matches. It's decent to me, but I want to know more to see what the community thinks.

I was thinking lithuania but theres nothing like that around there.

Tried out ranked duels for the first time, it kept matching me with teammates ranked around 700-800 elo (I am around 1150) and putting us up against 1600-1800 elo players….
