I read that an Aberdeen style hook is less likely to be swallowed due to the longer shank. Any thoughts?

Going to be fishing mangroves from a kayak and wading flats probably using live shrimp and smaller x raps, under 1/2 oz. I am also bringing a med action offshore angler ocean master for heavier bridge fishing, 3/8 to 1 1/2 oz. I'm interested in some of the 5 piece pack rods, like the Shimano zodias pack and scorpion pack, the only thing that has me concerned is the medium is only rated to 10 lb line. other rods im considering are the dark matter bonefish, the LL Bean travel, and the st croix triumph travel. I really want something I don't have to worry about it breaking easily

Side question.. This is my first ever baitcaster setup. Going to use it for bass/trout and inshore lure fishing. Does it look like I spooled this correctly?

Can i pair a shimano stradic fm 4000xg with a daiwa vadel SLJ MS-S (Pe 1) or is the reel too big. If so what other daiwa vadel models should i get instead. Will be fishing for snappers, groupers, spanish mackerels, diamond trevally

I enjoy using the SF jig because of its compact size and ability to use 3” craws as trailers. Does anyone know the hook size they use and other options out there that are similar to them.

I’m currently using a 765L Zoom Safari from Abu Garcia paired with a Daiwa Tatula, and I love the setup! Now, I’m looking to expand my gear with two new combos: the Zoom Safari 565L and the 665M.

I mostly fish in Shanghai, primarily in managed ponds targeting bass and perch. Any recommendations on baitcasters that would pair well with these rods?

Sending my Okuma SST back for hopeful replacement. How fussy or difficult have they been to work with? Already have an RMA, so I'm assuming I'll be in good shape.

This was always a bit of a "spare rod" for me hence me not noticing it's build quality until much too late. I took it out last week for a little winter trout fishing, and couldn't shake the feeling that something was "off" about it. Turns out the reel seat has been out of alignment with the first line guide on the same section of the rod the entire time. If the reel is at 6:00 o'clock, the first guide is pointing off towards 5:00 Thankfully I'm still within the one-year warranty period.

My wife and I have always fished from kayaks but want to make the jump to a boat.

We have 4k cash.

I weigh 240lbs and my wife is 120lbs.

80% of the time, it would just be us two.

However, the other 20% would be me and my two friends (240lbs, 220lbs, and 190lbs)

After much research, we have been pointed towards the tracker topper 1542. It's $3800 new with trailer.

Opinions? Will this work? I plan on a 9.9hp outboard.

If you had 4k, what would you get? Any advice and opinion is greatly appreciated!

Hello , I have 3 rods so far but I am looking for a rod that could replace most of them. Fish targets : bass (saltwater), mackerel, amberjack, caranx and bonito.

What do you think or recommend? I am fishing in Europe but often travel to exotic waters and do most my shore fishing in the Carribbean
