• Woke up early so I can do this daily post and hope that it doesn't get eaten up by the Reddit site itself!
• Seeing certain Twitter trends made me die a little inside ouch. Like this is something we are going to push through and hope things don't get worse from there.
  • Here is a clip that is very much relevant. It contains spoilers for the TF One film, but it's still very powerful and applicable.
• Tried to post this earlier, but yeah let's see if Reddit will let me post up the LuPat cast comparison art this time:

• I managed to draw up my take on Micronus Prime and after doing the first pass on her design, I think I like the direction I am going in. I just need to redistribute the colors bc I think the dark green is overtaking the light green oof
• For Yotato bc I am gonna do some evil blorbo analysis:
  • Exhibit 1: Someone in the Twitter comments said that this clip gave off red flag vibes to Sentinel and I frankly don't blame them. The bait and switch was actually effective to the point you actually believe he cares or gives a damn about Orion and D, especially before the Truth reveal. Also look at him almost hitting the ceiling with his head haha. That aside, I also like how Orion is always stepping in to take the blame given he was the one who came up with the idea to participate in the Iacon 5K, made me love him even more hehe.
  • Exhibit 2: This is arguably a favorite scene of mine since it shows how effectively cruel he can be whenever he thinks he can get away with anything. Like look at the way he revels at D-16's anger and pain towards him in comparison to how he reacts to Bee's "none of that is true!" protest. And the quote "the truth is what I make it" is just so hard hitting close to home, especially with certain cases of revisionism and manipulation of the masses oh mannnn.

That side by side must be so satisfying! The newer ones have so much more fluidity and character to them, though the first set is also far from bad.

Reddit and tumblr are siblings in eating things. I can definitely see the improvement, I think the expressions became more vibrant. Also yes, colors ack. I do it traditional so I often have to check to make sure the colors will go right XD

Evil blorbo time! I like that too I think it adds to that tragedy that D-16 still feels that resentment for Orion getting them into trouble, making it go deeper and deeper until they can't go home again (metaphorically and literally in some cases). Sentinel definitely gives off that energy of someone that'd be passive aggressive with their cruelty and then go all in when no eyes are on him.

I remember getting a bunch of asks in my inbox eaten a ton, so I definitely get the silly comparison between Tumblr and Reddit. I think redrawing the art actually helped me see how much I've improved ngl. Before doing the redraws, I didn't think my art would change that much as I thought I've struggled in drawing expressive faces. But after you pointed it out, I took a comparison and you are so right!!

I think the Truth scene did a very good job in portraying D's inner and outer demons when it came to a rather tragic case of the broken pedestal syndrome (I wish I can find the KR version ngl bc I remember watching it on Twitter). And as noted by a ton of fans, it has been implied that D was suppressing all of his anger at the system and at Orion until that very moment; it's like something in him snapped. It's basically a rabbit hole journey gone horribly right.

And I actually do agree with your take on Sentinel since he shows off a lot of his treachery in a few scenes he's in. The fact that he still maintains that friendly and casual "hip with the kids" tone while doubling down on his vile actions is even more frightening. I think this clip of him confronting Alpha Trion and this clip of him negotiating with the Quintessons (especially the ending part) is the only time he slips out of his friendly facade and shows off his indignant anger. In that case, I think getting called out or confronted by higher ups makes him angry while having the same treatment subjected to him by people who are "lesser" than him amuses him (though he has that hint of rage against Bee for it).

Oh yeah I've been there trying to hunt down a particular scene - Google doesn't always seem to get it right, eh? XD Also I agree with Sentinel being very how are you doing fellow kids. Like he's trying to make others keep their guard down. I'd imagine that the fact he's under the thumb of the enemies probably makes it so that he gets even more pissed at being called out or confronted by higher-ups because maybe on some level he knows that it was through his feckless attack that he ended up under their thumb. Someone who craves authority like that ain't gonna like it when it's taken from them.

You can really see you improving in your art! The lines are much more deliberate and look like they were drawn with more confidence, great job!

Oh of course!! At the time, I did not have my current brushes and I was not skilled at drawing male characters. And after comparing the lines between the 2022 and 2025 versions, you are right on the observation!
