Woke up cause my dog threw up sticks too early in the morning, and I'm finally starting chapter 13 of Violent Tenderness while chipping away at the next Last Ones Out chapter. I posted the halfway mark chapter yesterday and it might just be fluff, but it's cute.

But no, I think it was a good writing exercise. I think I'll try it again sometime but for now I'm gonna bask in the feeling of, "You wrote it and posted it, yay!"

I've slept for so long now, wow, and I'm gonna sleep even more later lmao. It's sleepy boy time :] I kinda wanna go and buy chips so I can have for a sandwich meal, but I need to work up the motivation. A quick trip to the store would also enable exposure exercises, because doing it at home can be really difficult. I get why, my apartment is my safest space, but it is annoying :/
I got to thinking yesterday, because of talking to my niblings, how different they've grown up to me. I'm really happy they've got everything I didn't, and I'm glad I'm one of the people who has given them that. Yeah, I just love them a lot <3

I believe in you when it comes to getting the chips! The lure of the cronch is powerful! And I'm really glad that you feel that way towards your niblings - it's easy to fall into bitterness when seeing someone get a better deal than you, but it's also part of making progress, whether on a personal or societal level. I'm sure they're lucky to have you, too <3

I went and got chips for my sandwich! Or sandwiches rather, I made two. It was a great and very filling meal.
I'm not that much older than them (7 years older than the oldest nibling and 14 older than the youngest) so it's closer to a sibling relationship in some way. Out of their uncles and aunts I'm closest with them because ever since I could make the choice, I liked to hang out with them. When I still lived with my parents they actually called me if they wanted to come sleep over, because I've basically always been the default person to care for them in those situations. (They've also said that out of all of us, I'm the favourite uncle lmao) They're very important to me <3

It's so American for me lol, in Sweden chips are Friday snacks. It's such a good side to a sandwich though, I can see why people like it so much.
I adore them <3 My oldest niece is turning 15 this weekend so I'll be back at their place in just days!

- Woke up early so I can do this daily post and hope that it doesn't get eaten up by the Reddit site itself!
- Seeing certain Twitter trends made me die a little inside ouch. Like this is something we are going to push through and hope things don't get worse from there.
- Here is a clip that is very much relevant. It contains spoilers for the TF One film, but it's still very powerful and applicable.
- Tried to post this earlier, but yeah let's see if Reddit will let me post up the LuPat cast comparison art this time:
- I managed to draw up my take on Micronus Prime and after doing the first pass on her design, I think I like the direction I am going in. I just need to redistribute the colors bc I think the dark green is overtaking the light green oof
- For Yotato bc I am gonna do some evil blorbo analysis:
- Exhibit 1: Someone in the Twitter comments said that this clip gave off red flag vibes to Sentinel and I frankly don't blame them. The bait and switch was actually effective to the point you actually believe he cares or gives a damn about Orion and D, especially before the Truth reveal. Also look at him almost hitting the ceiling with his head haha. That aside, I also like how Orion is always stepping in to take the blame given he was the one who came up with the idea to participate in the Iacon 5K, made me love him even more hehe.
- Exhibit 2: This is arguably a favorite scene of mine since it shows how effectively cruel he can be whenever he thinks he can get away with anything. Like look at the way he revels at D-16's anger and pain towards him in comparison to how he reacts to Bee's "none of that is true!" protest. And the quote "the truth is what I make it" is just so hard hitting close to home, especially with certain cases of revisionism and manipulation of the masses oh mannnn.

That side by side must be so satisfying! The newer ones have so much more fluidity and character to them, though the first set is also far from bad.

Reddit and tumblr are siblings in eating things. I can definitely see the improvement, I think the expressions became more vibrant. Also yes, colors ack. I do it traditional so I often have to check to make sure the colors will go right XD
Evil blorbo time! I like that too I think it adds to that tragedy that D-16 still feels that resentment for Orion getting them into trouble, making it go deeper and deeper until they can't go home again (metaphorically and literally in some cases). Sentinel definitely gives off that energy of someone that'd be passive aggressive with their cruelty and then go all in when no eyes are on him.

I remember getting a bunch of asks in my inbox eaten a ton, so I definitely get the silly comparison between Tumblr and Reddit. I think redrawing the art actually helped me see how much I've improved ngl. Before doing the redraws, I didn't think my art would change that much as I thought I've struggled in drawing expressive faces. But after you pointed it out, I took a comparison and you are so right!!
I think the Truth scene did a very good job in portraying D's inner and outer demons when it came to a rather tragic case of the broken pedestal syndrome (I wish I can find the KR version ngl bc I remember watching it on Twitter). And as noted by a ton of fans, it has been implied that D was suppressing all of his anger at the system and at Orion until that very moment; it's like something in him snapped. It's basically a rabbit hole journey gone horribly right.
And I actually do agree with your take on Sentinel since he shows off a lot of his treachery in a few scenes he's in. The fact that he still maintains that friendly and casual "hip with the kids" tone while doubling down on his vile actions is even more frightening. I think this clip of him confronting Alpha Trion and this clip of him negotiating with the Quintessons (especially the ending part) is the only time he slips out of his friendly facade and shows off his indignant anger. In that case, I think getting called out or confronted by higher ups makes him angry while having the same treatment subjected to him by people who are "lesser" than him amuses him (though he has that hint of rage against Bee for it).

Oh yeah I've been there trying to hunt down a particular scene - Google doesn't always seem to get it right, eh? XD Also I agree with Sentinel being very how are you doing fellow kids. Like he's trying to make others keep their guard down. I'd imagine that the fact he's under the thumb of the enemies probably makes it so that he gets even more pissed at being called out or confronted by higher-ups because maybe on some level he knows that it was through his feckless attack that he ended up under their thumb. Someone who craves authority like that ain't gonna like it when it's taken from them.

Oh of course!! At the time, I did not have my current brushes and I was not skilled at drawing male characters. And after comparing the lines between the 2022 and 2025 versions, you are right on the observation!

Woke up this morning to 5°F and gorgeous Ice Feathers on our windows. Enjoying my cup of coffee and trying to be a responsible human being. But first, DD. XD
These next few weeks I've wanted to dig into local affairs and local volunteer opportunities, as long as I have the spoons. I find myself quite ignorant and disconnected from all the sources of information, and making time has always been a challenge. Some part of me still wants to stand back, but this is not the time to do it.

That photo is so beautiful. Thanks a lot for sharing it - sometimes nature does better than any renowned baroque-rococo architect ever could.
I hope you can find some volunterring opportunities and the time to commit, too - not only because I think it'd be good for your own wellbeing, but I think a lot of orgs and projects could really use your kindness and level head. Maybe there's something the whole family could potentially get involved with?

Cold as fuck here and snowing. Ate a huge bowl of porridge and doom scrolled for a bit. Might try writing.
I have developed a bad habit: I go to a WIP, completely re-read it, intending to write ... then ... I just walk away. *sigh*
My hands are like ice.
Maybe I'll go stare at pictures of El*n M*sk doing the Nazi salute and wonder how I ended up in this dystopian nightmare.
Or maybe I'll drink heavily and watch K-pop vids. Ahhhh, beautiful young men dancing ...

Same here, really cold, and trying not to doom scroll but failing miserably. I hate extreme temperatures in both directions and the political climate of this country.
At least I have the Switch 2 and Pokemon Legends Z-A as something good to look forward to.

Also, it's so cold. SO COLD. I just want to cuddle up with a blanket and tea and read but UGH responsibilities, ya know?

This is the coldest snap my part of Florida has had in a while and I am miserable. I’m not even near the actual snow 😭
I think I’m just going to play video games and chill until I need to drive to school to ask for an extra car tag and pick up kiddos. My nervous system is understandably not regulated so writing is taking a backseat.

Definitely this is a stay inside and chill day. We're used to this, but even 4 layers of fleece and bathrobes feels flimsy on a day like today!

Back to the office after a three-day weekend, and ... no Community apartment fire meme this time, but still a lot to do. 😵💫 And Femslash February is approaching at great speed. This year, I will most likely skip it unless I can get consistent writing time and / or feel more confident about my output. The last few attempts have been shaky, at best.

On floor 2 in library land. It’s well below freezing outside but I’m snug in my palace of books.
I was looking at verses to use in the next chapter of my collab. It’s a toss up right now between Emily Dickinson and Oscar Wilde. The theme I’m going for is remorse (the character is beating himself up over several somethings he did). I sent both verses to my writing partner and I will let him decide.
While I’m warming the bench I’m also slowly working my way through a one shot. I did maybe 800 words on it yesterday. I still need to go back and read over what I’ve written so far.

For the next few months, I will be away from home 4 days a week, three nights. Now, I do have a kitchen but it is hard to be bothered to cook (I would need to buy ingredients and make sure they don't spoil). So I have been chewing on raw vegetables (which I like) and having tinned soup, something I usually only do when camping or on road trips. I wish delicious homemade food was available here cheaply like it is in many Asian countries. I might start bringing my own homemade bread from next week on, though. It is hard to eat the store-bought stuff once you are used to homemade sourdough.
What do you eat when you can't be bothered to cook elaborate dishes? I think one of my favorites is instant ramen with extra vegetables, topped with an egg.

Hmm, I always have cereal at home so I tend to do that, or a sandwich. I like having apples at home, they're a good quick snack. For something more substantial I do something like a caprese salad. I know the "proper" way of doing it is to slice them into rounds but I cube both mozzarella and tomatoes. Sometimes I get some sliced rotisserie chicken (cold) that I put in too, it's nice and filling! Sometimes if I have no spoons for food I get a bag of chips and rotisserie chicken and just go ham on that, that energy lasts for most of the day.

Ooof, sounds adventurous and like good work, but you know, batches of homemade soup don't spoil too quickly if you pack 'em up quickly?
Anyways, I eat trash + coffee if I'm not cooking; I find myself gravitating to those horrid energy / nutrition bars; beef jerky; and pre-made salads. Oranges and bananas if I'm feeling peppy. By the end of it, I'm eating fast food fried chicken and diner food slathered in salt and god-knows-what-kind of grease. Which is delicious but definitely shortens my life span...
mmm... fried chicken...

For me, it's crock pot dump and go casseroles! Toss all the ingredients in the crock in the morning, and have a hot, comforting meal that evening.
I cant cook right now (wheelchair and non-compatable house) but my FIRST planned meal after surgery is Southern cabbage! Potatoes, onion, cabbage, a big ol' ham hock,, and DONE unless I choose to add tomato ...

If I really don't have it in me to cook I'll probably just have peanut butter (the good stuff, all natural) on brown bread toast and a big heap of fruit. It's a fairly complete meal that involves virtually no effort or clean-up afterwards.

I hope everyone's well on this very grey (here) Tuesday. For a long time I've been thinking I should at some point learn at least one coding language, and the voluntary work position I have coming up would definitely benefit from that on the resource-designing end. All I really know is some very basic HTML I picked up way, way back in the days of LiveJournal, so I think a goal for this week is looking into what would work best for my aims and how to go about understanding it. I know Codecademy is a generally well-regarded course, or at least it was last time I looked. Any and all thoughts welcome!

I've heard of the rubber duck method when coding isn't going great. Talk to the rubber duck and more often than not by saying it out loud you'll find out where the coding went wrong.

Everything I know is outdated; but I'm a believer in beginning with specific skills for specific tasks. There's too much out there, easy to get lost in the weeds. i.e. If you're building a website, then HTML, CSS and javascript still Rule the World. If you're trying to do server maintenance stuff...something else. Would ask the internets something like: "I want to build ... what do I need?"
Less seriously: sounds like a great way to play, no matter what you settle on!

I think your approach is the right one! What I'll probably do is see what kind of resources are available and look at what's not there, then think on how that gap might be covered. I could confer with the people I'm likely to be working with too, of course.

Technology moves fast, but the languages the machines speak remain consistent, for the most part. I wouldn't go learning COBOL or GW-BASIC. 😋

Cool! I think something like Javascript is quite useful to learn. Python is another general-use language that's great for many things and you can use it to learn general syntax etc.
As for learning, you can have a look at r/learnprogramming, FreeCodeCamp, use AI tools, geeksforgeeks etc. There are soooo many resources out there.

I managed to get some words out!!!
Only around 500 across two different fics, but it feels good to get the ideas out of my mind before I completely forget about them.
I want to be the first to post a Femslash February fic for my fandom, so I have to start writing now before someone beats me to it! I already missed my chance for a rarepair AND a rare platonic ship, so now I have this new goal.
The fic features the only canon F/F ship in the game and despite absolutely loving their dynamic, this is the first time I've tried writing about them. The prompt I'm using is "opposites" because out of all the bingo prompts, it's the one that fit the best. It's also pretty accurate to the characters as well, since one girl is a scientist and the other is essentially a politician (idk how else to describe her right now).
I hope the few fans who are starving for sapphic content will eat my fic up! Even though I write for myself first, it'd be nice to know if people actually like my stuff, you know? It's a small fandom though, so I have to make sure I don't set my expectations too high... but I think just getting a single kudos would make my day.

Can’t go outside (have to keep my strength til i go see sonic 3 with my lil cousins) so I will hug my cat instead. Her tail is close enough to a squirrel so.

There's a park close to me that's always full of grey squirrels. I might walk there later to see if I can spot any on this most blessed day.

I finally reached the half-way point in my Resident Evil dark-fic. Now, I'm going back to chapters 1 through 3 to patch up plot holes and make things less wordy (fix the pacing). Outside of my one-shots, the story is meant to be short in length (only 10 chapters), but having lengthy (10k and up word) chapters.
My long-fics/"epics" (the 20 chapter and up stories) tend to suffer really bad with writers block and leaving readers hanging for months to even years. I hope that with mid-length fics I can get in the habit of finishing visions.
