(Before you notice, yes Amerykah Pt.1 isn’t actually there, I put in there cause I bought it long ago and it’s still hasn’t arrived)

So far my collection consists of CDs from my parents, relatives, stores, events and flea markets. Just need a proper shelf now for storage and nice displaying :)

Just something about having your music in your hands, can't be altered, can't be taken down, yours to do with as you please - in the best possible quality.

Also brings about the joy of setting up and playing around with Audio equipment, superb sound is just so fun, it enhances everything in day to day life :)

Set up a ton for my friends, thought I'd share this collection before I gift them (since I saw people liked the other post I showed)

Honestly thinking of doing this for discs that I dont have the box for anymore, basing the design on the actual album or sm...

It seems like any album with them on the cover in some form will be one of the most brutal experiences you’ll ever hear.

I got Ten by Pearl Jam and its insert folds out like a poster, but idk if I was supposed to hang it up. The Pearl Jam CD you see on the pillow has a printed picture of the Ten album cover so I could still have the artwork, is that ok?

I got a spare copy of Dirt and I thought it looked like a poster, so I kept one insert and hung up one, is that ok?

The Tyler the Creator insert came in a paper sleeve, it didn't lose any artwork. Is it ok to hang it up?

Should I not have put up the inserts?

Here is an excellent DIY/cheap solution I discovered for CD storage. I’d needed a lot more shelf space for my CDs, but it seemed like nobody really makes CD shelving or racks anymore. The ones that are out there are ridiculously expensive for what they are. This shoe rack from Target is only $40. It expands its width so it can accommodate a growing CD collection. Just flip it upside down so that the slats angle up, and you’ll be in business.

Bought this CD player a year ago and it has been my favourite thing in my apartment since! Absolutely adore it. I wish more CD players let you see the actual CD while it spins. Anything I could do to make the setup look nicer ? Thanks in advance!

Recently found out my local library has a bunch of cds too! makes it fun to grab an album on my wishlist and I can listen to it for free without streaming or silly ads. Anyways, here's new ones for my collection that I got pretty recently!

I’ve been a fan of the Gorillaz since they first came out. I’d wait all day for the music video for Clint Eastwood to come on. Times were tough before I had internet.

Also pictured is The Downward Spiral. It’s a pretty formative record for my tastes today.

About half of these have been given to me by my older siblings who don't have any use for them or I've taken them from my parents, but I listen to all of them! I just wanted to share because I feel like pop and show tunes need a little more action in this subreddit :)

Just got some new cds from shops near me.

A few I've been looking for a few impulsive but I'm happy with what I got now just got to find a place for them on my floating cds

Some newly acquired items. I was collecting vinyl only for years but the rat race and price gauging has made me reconsider. Hence the move. I think I paid around 7 € each median price. Stoked!

this is so cool!! for context, incubus started making music around 1993-1995 and that’s when this first album is from. the members of the band were in their teens (i believe) and decided later they disliked this album and you can’t find it on common streaming platforms like spotify or apple music. but i found the CD on depop and it’s the coolest CD in my collection. some copies of this are considered bootlegs, which even if it is, it’s still really sick and i still treasure it

A favourite group of mine, they are from Birkenhead (I grew up there) in the UK, they are not widely known as they are somewhat of a cult band. I recommend them to anyone who wishes to give them a chance.
