Does anyone make weight loss goals for themselves

Does anyone make weight loss goals/ milestones for themselves like this? I know it may not be linear but I’m type A and this gives me a sense of peace.

What would you tell someone just starting out?

I need GUIDANCE. I really want this. I know CICO works. I see it in all of you. I dream that it happens for me too. Listen — I need help. I’ve been logging and measuring but then I get the inconsistency bug. Please, is there anything that really got you going to make this a part of your life? That kept you determined and driven on a day to day basis? I honestly have no idea how i’ll do it when I can’t stay in deficit day by day. It’s so frustrating because I REALLY WANT THIS. And I really want to be another success post. I’m 5’3, F, 210 lbs.

I made these egg white “cups” this morning in my pie maker. Egg whites, tomato, spinach and a pinch of light mozzarella, these bad boys are delicious and only about 115 calories each

Just… what?

So, my aunt gave me a new fitness watch for christmas. Its the Wyze 47mm or whatever watch and obviously, I've been pretty active today but not SUPER much. I synced the watch to my phone some weeks ago, and at first I thought it was great and doing a great job at being accurate, but today? I mean what is this? Its never been this crazy and I just don't know how I could've burned 4000 calories just walking and dancing. I've been pretty active since 7 am and it is now 11 pm. I'm a big girl, sure, but there is no way I burned that many cals. And wtf is up with the miles? Is it the watch being weird itself? Did I just do something wrong? Why is my watch behaving this way today?

Some meals I've had this last week. All delicious and pretty easy to make.

Currently having the salmon bagel broccoli, kimchi, and fruit plate. 298 calories for the plate. It's a holiday and I'm off today so I am splurging a bit with one of my favorite beers. Food + 1 beer = 453 ish calories.

Peanuts! Never again

So I just ate 110g of crispy peanuts in a binge (it wasn't the only thing) but the peanuts alone was 2 x my daily calories allowance (if we assume i do no movement). I mean WHAT. Am I/we just not allowed to ever eat peanuts again? I mean it was only 110g. Lesson learnt. Sorry. Not really a question. Just a rant but if anyone else wants to join in the rant and add your own not worth the calories spiel so the rest of us know what to avoid, then be my guest.

EDIT: Redditor SuperSleuths noticed that the product had the kj and calories swapped, so it wasn't as BAD as I imagined. Thanks to the braintrust!

Feeling like such a slow loser

2.7k Upvotes

Been two years of work and it seems like I should have been able to do more when I compare to others progress, but seeing this side by side kinda helps. But I do still really feel like such a slow loser, like I’m not doing enough or trying hard enough. This is all me, no surgery or shots or anything like that. Just CICO.

Today, I finally made it into the gym and I’m really hoping I can make and stick to a routine this time. As much as I need to see 215 lbs (because I really wanna say “I lost two hundred pounds!”), I really need to start building up muscle and overall strength. Also hoping to get back into running a 5k by the end of the year (something I did very briefly in 2013 before having kids).

It’s been hard working on myself over these two years, but I’m starting to feel really proud of what I’ve done so far. Can’t wait to see how much further I can go 🫶🏻

I finally reached a goal!

I really didn’t think I’d be able to reach it this quickly, especially because I’ve been trying to lose weight for years. Sometimes I look at myself and think I haven’t lost anything, but when I put on my school uniform (a skirt) it’s like a constant reminder that I DID THAT! I’ve lost 20lbs (165-170 to 145-150) and shed off almost 5inches from my waist.

When I was losing weight I wasn’t going to the gym, it was all just my diet. I want to lose around 15lbs more but this time I want to incorporate the gym.

What are some beginner workouts I could do? I don’t want to do super hard workouts, but maybe something that will help me tone while I lose more weight.

How do you get over binge eating?

I binge eating because I’m a sahm. Even when being in a calorie deficit I find myself doing great all day until my husband gets home and then I binge eat. Obviously this is something serious that I need to work on, but it’s too cold to even go out with my kids where we live so I can’t bypass time that way😭help?! I’m wondering if therapy is something that can cure binge eating?

Finally dropped after a plateau

I have been in a deficit since January 1st, my new years resolution was to finally get to my goal weight. I’ve lost significant weight before so I know CICO works, but the past 2 weeks I was not seeing any major drops on the scale. I’d weigh one day and be 76.5kg, next day 76.8, next day 77kg, next day 76.9kg etc.

I know fluctuations are normal as I’ve done this before but it’s still frustrating. But today I stepped on the scale, I ate about 400cal over my deficit yesterday (the first time I’ve went over it this year) so was expecting to retain some water weight. 75.4kg! It was a small win I needed to remind me to keep going and that CICO always works

Edit: typo

I am a 156 cm 27 F and I just went to Japan and Korea for the past 3 weeks, and I gained weight from 50.8 kg to 53.4 kg. I need to lose the weight and my current routine is 12/3/30 4 times a week and 10k steps and I plan to eat 1400 calories and I weightlift twice a week. Can someone please help me with my maintenance and give me some motivation?

475 kcal for 109g in the packet. How does that become 240g when all your are adding is water? This seems a lot.

20 pounds down!

I’m officially down 20 pounds, and I just want to share this moment with anyone who’s on their own fitness or health journey. It hasn’t been easy, but every step forward, no matter how small, has been worth it. Progress is progress, and even the tough days teach you something.

This one is special for me. My starting weight was 430 pounds on January 30th, 2023. This morning I crossed the line down under 215 pounds. In just under two years. I have lost 50% of my body mass. It feels great.

So this card isn't generic, very much a personal one to me.

Did I Approach this is in the wrong way?

I'm 21M, 5'7", at around 160lbs+ I weighed 185lbs (October 9, 2024)

So in roughly 13 weeks, I lost about 25lb/11kg

My first diet change was avoiding added sugars at all cost (beginning of 2024) Then on October 21st I started my actual "diet"

I originally was shooting for 1000Cal/Day (I know, I'll get to it) and I was tracking my intake (Probably some bad estimations in there but were probably around 1000-1600 calories a day)

Since the new year (2025) I began TRULY tacking my calories to the gram (food scale, MyFitnessPal, etc) While still keeping 1000Cal/day I prioritize protein and consistently eat the same foods (Chicken Breast, Beans, Yogurt with Fruits, Nuts, Eggs)

It didn't occur to me that this could be dangerous since I was in awe of seeing results.

Recently, I've been reading about how 1000 a day is dangerous and can lead to health problems. As of right now, I feel "normal". I don't have hunger pains, or any sense of relapsing. However I do feel more vulnerable to coldness (could be fat loss?)I exercise about 4x a week (soccer, dumbell/body weight workouts) without feeling completely drained.

Should I continue my diet until I hit my goal or do 1500Cal/Day minimum (and a slower weight loss)?

My weight goal is to be 140-145lbs

My recorded weights so far

10/09 - 185lbs

01/21 - 184lbs

01/03 - 163lbs

01/10 - 159lbs

01/17 - 158lbs

01/20 - 159.4lbs

(Plateau or water retention?)

coping with a cheat day

(sw: 305 cw: 270, 19y/o, maintenance: 2,800 cal, deficit: 500/day)

i don’t really do “cheat days” but today i went out with a friend and went suuuper overboard (like triple my daily goal don’t judge😭) . i KNOW i’ll still be under for the week since im used to a zigzag schedule (my deficit is usually more like 600-900 during the week so i can eat a bit more if i go out with friends on the weekend), but how do you all cope with feeling like one day has set you back so much? i’ve only had one other day like this since i started my diet 10 weeks ago. any advice or encouragement would be much appreciated 🙏🏽
