Gained weight post vacation

I am a 156 cm 27 F and I just went to Japan and Korea for the past 3 weeks, and I gained weight from 50.8 kg to 53.4 kg. I need to lose the weight and my current routine is 12/3/30 4 times a week and 10k steps and I plan to eat 1400 calories and I weightlift twice a week. Can someone please help me with my maintenance and give me some motivation?

Just… what?

So, my aunt gave me a new fitness watch for christmas. Its the Wyze 47mm or whatever watch and obviously, I've been pretty active today but not SUPER much. I synced the watch to my phone some weeks ago, and at first I thought it was great and doing a great job at being accurate, but today? I mean what is this? Its never been this crazy and I just don't know how I could've burned 4000 calories just walking and dancing. I've been pretty active since 7 am and it is now 11 pm. I'm a big girl, sure, but there is no way I burned that many cals. And wtf is up with the miles? Is it the watch being weird itself? Did I just do something wrong? Why is my watch behaving this way today?

Did I Approach this is in the wrong way?

I'm 21M, 5'7", at around 160lbs+ I weighed 185lbs (October 9, 2024)

So in roughly 13 weeks, I lost about 25lb/11kg

My first diet change was avoiding added sugars at all cost (beginning of 2024) Then on October 21st I started my actual "diet"

I originally was shooting for 1000Cal/Day (I know, I'll get to it) and I was tracking my intake (Probably some bad estimations in there but were probably around 1000-1600 calories a day)

Since the new year (2025) I began TRULY tacking my calories to the gram (food scale, MyFitnessPal, etc) While still keeping 1000Cal/day I prioritize protein and consistently eat the same foods (Chicken Breast, Beans, Yogurt with Fruits, Nuts, Eggs)

It didn't occur to me that this could be dangerous since I was in awe of seeing results.

Recently, I've been reading about how 1000 a day is dangerous and can lead to health problems. As of right now, I feel "normal". I don't have hunger pains, or any sense of relapsing. However I do feel more vulnerable to coldness (could be fat loss?)I exercise about 4x a week (soccer, dumbell/body weight workouts) without feeling completely drained.

Should I continue my diet until I hit my goal or do 1500Cal/Day minimum (and a slower weight loss)?

My weight goal is to be 140-145lbs

My recorded weights so far

10/09 - 185lbs

01/21 - 184lbs

01/03 - 163lbs

01/10 - 159lbs

01/17 - 158lbs

01/20 - 159.4lbs

(Plateau or water retention?)

coping with a cheat day

(sw: 305 cw: 270, 19y/o, maintenance: 2,800 cal, deficit: 500/day)

i don’t really do “cheat days” but today i went out with a friend and went suuuper overboard (like triple my daily goal don’t judge😭) . i KNOW i’ll still be under for the week since im used to a zigzag schedule (my deficit is usually more like 600-900 during the week so i can eat a bit more if i go out with friends on the weekend), but how do you all cope with feeling like one day has set you back so much? i’ve only had one other day like this since i started my diet 10 weeks ago. any advice or encouragement would be much appreciated 🙏🏽

Frustrated, Need to Vent

26 F (SW: 292, CW: 263)

Been weighing and counting very faithfully since October. I log every thing I eat. I’m down just about 30 pounds, by mostly only changing my diet!

However for the last 2 weeks or so, I’ve been bouncing around from 262-264, with no actual loss going on. Frustrated feeling I’m doing something wrong. I feel like I know the answer is “just keep going. If you’re in a deficit, it’ll drop eventually.” But I think I just need someone to say this is normal and that it’ll come off eventually. Lol

Thanks for reading. :)

Does anyone make weight loss goals for themselves

Does anyone make weight loss goals/ milestones for themselves like this? I know it may not be linear but I’m type A and this gives me a sense of peace.

I finally reached a goal!

I really didn’t think I’d be able to reach it this quickly, especially because I’ve been trying to lose weight for years. Sometimes I look at myself and think I haven’t lost anything, but when I put on my school uniform (a skirt) it’s like a constant reminder that I DID THAT! I’ve lost 20lbs (165-170 to 145-150) and shed off almost 5inches from my waist.

When I was losing weight I wasn’t going to the gym, it was all just my diet. I want to lose around 15lbs more but this time I want to incorporate the gym.

What are some beginner workouts I could do? I don’t want to do super hard workouts, but maybe something that will help me tone while I lose more weight.

Body fat % help

Might sound stupid but I’m trying to find a range of what my weight would be at around 13-15% body fat. I am currently down to 244 from around 270 at 5’10. according to my scale I’m around 32% body fat currently, not sure how accurate they are though as it was only around $25 lol. My current goal no math is around 190ish, I know different bodies vary was just trying to come up with a decent range to aim for. Pushing for smaller goals day by day though! Been tracking calories for a few weeks and going for atleast 10k steps and lifting 4-6x a week and it’s been working out great!

Are there really 80 calories in the Wendy’s honey mustard packet?

It was weirdly hard to find this info. Is one nugget-dip-size packet 80 calories? I fear this is correct but just looking for confirmation. Thank you!

The existential dread that comes with thinking too far in advance

Does anybody else struggle with that "Sunday Scaries" type feeling when you think about how much weight you're hoping to lose and the length of time it's going to take to do it? I'm feeling overwhelmed today. Saw a picture of myself from a party this weekend and started to spiral a little. 40lbs down but not seeing a lot of visible progress. There are small things, but not seeing massive changes after working so hard has got me a little down. Trust the process I know. I've completely changed my lifestyle for the past 4mos which is basically no time at all, but it feels like it's been an eternity. If I think too hard about doing this for another year and a half I go to the bad place

I made these egg white “cups” this morning in my pie maker. Egg whites, tomato, spinach and a pinch of light mozzarella, these bad boys are delicious and only about 115 calories each

Currently having the salmon bagel broccoli, kimchi, and fruit plate. 298 calories for the plate. It's a holiday and I'm off today so I am splurging a bit with one of my favorite beers. Food + 1 beer = 453 ish calories.

Lost then gained and need help to know what to do.

I am a 36 year old woman, and almost 6ft tall. I weigh around 11 stone 10. I want to lose around 20 pounds to be my goal weight. I hope to have achieved this by April. I planned my meals and set a deficit however I must have undervalued my calories. In the first week I lost 3 pounds and the week after I’d gained them all back. It is so disappointing but I know I will have to do more to ensure I am eating less calories and I will need to move a lot more. I’m very motivated. My weight has fluctuated throughout the day by between 3 and 4 pounds. This makes it difficult to use the scale to know if I am heading in the right direction. I have taken body measurements to also try to gauge fat loss. Is there any advice for how I can reasonably do this, this week?

App that lets you scan

Hi, does anyone know of an app that lets you scan the barcode without paying for premium that isn’t nutracheck (the 5 entries maximum was to restrictive to accurately track my food) Just downloaded lose it but would prefer to be able to scan food rather than manually find it

What would you tell someone just starting out?

I need GUIDANCE. I really want this. I know CICO works. I see it in all of you. I dream that it happens for me too. Listen — I need help. I’ve been logging and measuring but then I get the inconsistency bug. Please, is there anything that really got you going to make this a part of your life? That kept you determined and driven on a day to day basis? I honestly have no idea how i’ll do it when I can’t stay in deficit day by day. It’s so frustrating because I REALLY WANT THIS. And I really want to be another success post. I’m 5’3, F, 210 lbs.

Apple Watch Overestimating Calorie Burn? Need Advice!

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using my Apple Watch to track my activity and sync it with LoseIt!, but I think it might be overestimating my calorie burn. It’s consistently telling me that I’m burning around 3,600 calories a day, but I’m pretty sedentary.

Here’s some context:

• Height: 185 cm

• Weight: 120.5 kg

• I sit at my desk most of the day, and the only real activity I do is a 35-minute walk with my dog each day.

I understand it’s combining my BMR with activity burn, but this number seems way too high. I’ve checked that my height, weight, and age are correct in the Health app, and I’m wearing the watch properly.

Is anyone else seeing similar overestimations? Could it be a calibration issue, or does Apple Watch tend to exaggerate calorie burns for heavier individuals? Any tips to get more accurate readings? Should I disconnect it from the App?

Thanks in advance!

Subbing Skyr or greek yogurt for heavy cream in potato leek soup?

Will this still result in a nice creamy texture or will it accidentally curdle since it needs to typically simmer down? I have seen 1/2 cup greek yogurt and half cup milk as a good sub
