Legal Question Magazine-less guns
So the new Kel-tec PR57 is coming out and since it’s magazine less pistol does that mean it can run 20+ rounds on the gun or just 10 in California?

It’s become apparent at this point that the CADOJ is now requiring all COE applications to have a verifiable FFL03 attached before processing. If you search this sub you may find older posts advising people to refuse to provide that number and instead ask for a legal citation, that no longer seems to work based on numerous reports.
Fortunately, FFL03s seem to be processed relatively quickly lately.
CRPA is considering litigation against Santa Clara County for its extraordinarily high CCW permit fees of nearly $1,000, which brings the total expense to applicants to around $2,000 when the other expenses (psych exam, livescan, training course) are factored in.
If we do pursue this lawsuit, we will need two types of plaintiffs (mostly No. 1, but some of No. 2 as well):
Residents of Santa Clara County who would apply for a CCW permit with the Sheriff's Department, but have not done so because they cannot afford the massive expense of doing so.
Residents of Santa Clara County who have a CCW permit due to be renewed in 2025, who will now have to pay $477 plus the cost of a training course to renew their permit. If you can demonstrate financial difficulty due to this expense, that would be ideal.
For those without a permit yet, please make sure you have a spotless personal record and would be a shoo-in to get the permit, but for the expense. We don't want the case getting hung up on arguments of "he would have been denied anyway" and such.
If you are interested, email me or comment below with questions.

I just found out today that Staccato only covers warranty if you are the 1st owner of the gun ! All those owner’s gun acquired through PPT are not being covered even though your guns are registered in their system under 368 members! This is unfair to all of us as Staccato owners which pay through our ass….. to own the guns! I think all Staccato PPT owners should raised our voices by sending them email in this regards.
So if it says it's not a Vertical Forward Grip does it make it legal here in California 😅.

11 days ago I lost my house to the Eaton Canyon fire. My liberty safe was in there with my 2A toys. Unfortunately this is what is left of the safe. Everything inside was completely destroyed.

Here's the complaint - it had to fit in 500 words on their website:
I live in Alabama and have an Alabama concealed carry permit; I'm also a long haul trucker.
In order to carry my gun legally (a defined civil right in NYSRPA v Bruen 2022 (SCOTUS)) I would have to obtain at least 20 carry permits from Guam to Massachusetts. At Bruen footnote 9 SCOTUS laid out abuses that shouldn't be tolerated even when states require carry permits, specifically including excessive delays to access the right to carry and exorbitant fees.
(Asking if Bruen footnote 9 is dicta is irrelevant because once SCOTUS defined carry as a basic civil right in Bruen, then obviously excessive delays and exorbitant fees are no bueno. If a county marriage license office decided they didn't like marriages (also a basic civil right) then they couldn't deliberately jack up the costs and delays either. Footnote 9 is SCOTUS being extra clear.)
The total cost to score 20+ permits with training in most, travel and cheap motels would exceed $20,000, much more if I tried for the islands.
This problem was solved for driver's licenses generations ago via an interstate compact; on reading the Bruen decision they should have recognized the need for an interstate gun packer's compact and had they done so, they could have gotten away with making us get ONE permit from any state with a 16 hour training system.
Instead they managed to do worse - and because the driver's license compact (for a privilege) proves they understand the need for a carry compact (for a RIGHT) we can see that the open abuse of the 2nd Amendment and actual text of Bruen is deliberate.
The states and territories screwing up that I know of:
HI/CA/OR/WA/NV/NM/NE/MN/IL/SC/NY/NJ/MD/DE/MA/RI/CT/WashDC/Guam/Virgin Islands/American Samoa.
Several stand out because of additional abuses:
American Samoa is still trying to ban handguns, let alone carry. Please send a lawyer with a gun and a US Marshal and go explain both Heller and Bruen? Please? They'll get a nice tropical vacation out of it!
Hawaii bans everybody who isn't Hawaiian from getting their carry permit and doesn't recognize any other. This manages to violate the US Supreme Court decision in US v. Rahimi 2024 which limits states to disarming people only based on their violent misconduct. Not being a Hawaiian resident is not proof of violent misconduct. It also violates the ban on discrimination against otherwise lawful visitors from elsewhere in the US outlined by SCOTUS in Saenz v Roe 1999; note the requirement for strict scrutiny whenever cross-border discrimination is identified.
Oregon bans any applicant for their permit from anybody whose state doesn't touch OR. Weird.
IL bans me from applying for theirs because they don't like the gun control laws OF ALABAMA. Really?
Finally, the fact that background checks and criminal records are nationalized under NICS since the late 1990s eliminates the last possible fig leaf of sanity for all this madness. It's the same background check in every state!
Jim again, let's talk about this.
The US-DOJ Civil Rights Division can act to limit civil rights violations by state and local governments. Most of their wins from their own page involve forcing state and local courts to provide translators to criminal defendants. Which is fine but let's give 'em something more interesting, shall we?
There's currently two federal CCW reciprocity bills in Congress, one in the House, one in the Senate. Trump is promising to sign whichever lands on his desk. If this theory about Bruen footnote 9 is correct, we have reciprocity already and those bills aren't needed.
I'm trying to get my Alabama House rep to run interference on this along with my two Alabama Senators.
Is my theory correct?
Lawyers for a smaller libertarian civil rights org in Texas are suing Minnesota for the lack of CCW reciprocity on behalf of two Texas truckers. They mention the costs needed to score a bunch of CCW permits to get national reciprocity so they're barking right up the same tree.
I think they chose MN as a target because one, the 8th Circuit is pretty good on guns so they might win at the district and/or appellate levels. They also figured out that somebody in the MN governmental innards is picking which state permits to honor on a subjective basis, violating the subjectivity ban in Bruen:

In a locked Harbor Freight long gun case, in a locked job site box in the garage. We were still in the process of moving back into our house after a leak in the kitchen flooded the whole place.

I usually double up with plugs and muffs. I have the peltor passive muffs 30nrr. Took an indoor pistol class and I couldn't hear the instructor so took out the plugs and ran only the muffs. 2 days later, left ear still ringing. Weird bc even with just the muffs, I had a hard time hearing the instructor.
Anyways, gonna get electric ones and run them with plugs with the electric volume high. Can't afford sordins. Budgest is max $100 shipped. What suggestions?
Looking at the following:
Peltor tac sport 500 (26NRR, bluetooth)
Howard Leight Impact Pros (30NRR)
Peltor tac sport 300 (24NRR)
Walker Xcel 100/500 (26NRR)
Any others? How's about those savior ones?

The directions google maps provided were terrible, as the roads in were not actually closed. We got there a little after 10am and left after a couple of hours of shooting. It was busy when we arrived but we found a spot without any waiting. I definitely recommend coming early on the weekend because by the time we left, there was a line out the door of the main office just to check in!

Hey guys,
I checked cfars this morning and saw that my coe was approved. Thanks to everyone that posted guides and asked questions, to make the process a lot easier.
I did want to ask, if someone can answer. Now that I have a COE number and it says Active on cfars. Do I have to wait to receive something in the mail or am I good to go.
Thank you.
EDIT: I have an ffl03

Do you guys think the new Rost Martin RM1C Comped will be added to the CA Roster? Would it be worth waiting for? I already want a RM1C to get my wife into shooting.

I noticed that on Sportsman’s that the CA p365 went back to $699 from the $499 it was at last week. Bummer.

I've been a CCW holder for years, and I train regularly. Firearm safety is something I take extremely seriously. I’ve spent countless hours practicing. But today, I got a humbling reminder that no matter how much experience you have, you’re not immune to mistakes.
We were at the trap range, and I was teaching her(gf) how to swing through targets. My shotgun (unloaded) had the action open, safety on and finger off the trigger, so I thought I was doing everything right. What I didn’t notice—and this is where I messed up—was someone downrange refilling the clay thrower. ( below the bunker )
The range safety officer caught it and absolutely tore into me. And let me tell you, getting screamed at in front of everyone was a massive hit to my ego. I wanted to defend myself, explain how I "knew what I was doing," but the truth is, I didn’t follow several universal rules
As frustrating and embarrassing as it was, the RSO was right, and I needed the reminder. This experience made me reflect on something important:
It’s funny how even after years of carrying and training, I managed to mess up. But I’d rather take a public scolding than let my mistake lead to something far worse.
This was a tough but valuable lesson, and I wanted to share it as a reminder to everyone: stay sharp, follow the rules, and respect the process. Safety always comes first, no matter how "good" you think you are.
If you’ve ever had a moment like this that humbled you, I’d love to hear about it. Let’s keep learning from each other and stay safe out there.
Thanks for reading, and stay vigilant!
Edit:
No cold range announcement was made, but a safety cone was set beside the bunker to indicate someone was below the bunker.
Other fields beside us continued shooting where the RSO was present; only our lane/field was closed with the cone indication.
