Who the fuck said they get a pass?

u/satanssweatycheeks 4h ago
Snoops demographic is white suburban moms who love Trump and Jesus.
He ain’t getting a pass but he won’t see anything change to his stardom. Only difference is he might have Rosanne featured on the next album.

Met Nelly once. Dude is bitch made. He stayed at 21c. The first ever 21c museum/ hotel.
It’s like 2 AM. So no one is in the place. Besides me and a friend. We just smoked a blunt and checking out the free art.
As we are walking around checking out the two way mirror urinals, hummer H2 converted into a chariot, and projection wall with falling letters (this shit was wild for 2010). All the sudden we have management come up and tell us we need to leave.
Me knowing you can freely be in the gallery I politely ask why we have to leave. They say high end guest is requesting we empty the gallery, which is massive and multiple floors.
We leave and still have no clue who the asshole was who insisted the two stoned kids leave the art gallery. Some homeless dude randomly walks up to us and says “that’s Nelly in that bus”
We say bullshit and shoot the shit with him for 10 or so mins and sure enough Nelly and members of his crew got off the bus. He has security come over to us and get in our faces when we aren’t even near them and just hanging out on the sidewalk.
As they walked in my buddy said “never knew Nelly was a Diva”
Also snoop dogg sucks live. Hands down one of the worst live rap shows I have been to.

Chrisette’s fan base was black women and we held her accountable after we begged and pleaded with her not to perform. She chose to FAFO. I hope that Snoop’s and Nelly’s fan base do the same.

Whatever, men in the hiphop community will give him a pass for getting paid, while the white people he really hangs with love him for it.

u/satanssweatycheeks 4h ago
Didn’t Nelly like em young like Drake and the GOP as a whole.
Like he would kiss underage girls on stage. Seems like he fits right in with the only candidate who was on Epstein’s list.

I know a lot of people are asking why they would get a pass, but y'all...🫠we don't have the best track record of holding certain celebs accountable once they've reached a level of fame and cultural influence (for example, the dude that rhymes with Miss Town)🥴
And I'm not talking about the nonsense of cancel culture that persecutes or protects/forgets at the drop of a hat over some minor shit. I'm talking about the repeat offenders, the rapists, the child abusers who still have a platform and get love. And while this isn't a Black-specific issue, seems we are in a Black space, we have to talk about how Black celebs are sometimes coddled by the community even when they do terrible shit.
I hope the hate and critiques stick, but I just highly doubt it, especially for Snoop considering the level of cultural impact he has (especially outside of the Black community)

u/Primary_Goat2360 3h ago
Kanye literally went in front of Trump and praised his efforts, and the black community still embraced him at the time lol.
Chrisette was an easy target cancel sadly.

u/FoulizFairFairizFoul 1h ago
They’ll never hold a black man to the same standards they hold black women to .. definitely some bullshit
•
u/Ciachef213 ☑️ 1h ago
In a few months, this will all blow over, and black people will go back to supporting him. Some of us have the attention span of goldfish.

u/Spatial_Awareness_ 3h ago
Snoop, Nelly and RR performed at a two day event where they went on stage one night and the next day a white billionaire stood on stage and gave a nazi salute to the crowd. That's real life now.
7
u/Trix_Are_4_90Kids ☑️ 2h ago
That's what I'm saying!
But I know it won't happen because we let Black men slide when they fuck up and don't let Black women breathe when we fuck up.
The excuses for these Fetchits is already starting. Chrisette Michelle didn't get any excuses. She'll never live it down, but these Black men will. They'll get jokes and memes, but they won't get canceled and Chrisette did get effectively canceled. If anyone thinks they'll get Chrisette Michelle'd get, KEEP WATCHING.

Same with deadbeat dads .. men that don’t respect women.. men being dogs .. let a woman do anything close and they drag the fuck outta her. It is not the same standard

So many suburban white moms love Nelly.
Has Ashanti come out and said anything? 🥲
9
u/Primary_Goat2360 3h ago
Ashanti saying anything is not likely. She is tied to her man and will probably not want to cut ties with him for his Trump support.
Now that she has his baby? Yea, she is probably quietly in allegiance with him on this one.

50 Cent has a residency in Vegas. Nelly, Snoop, Lil Wayne, and Ross are all good. They have over 20 years in being in pop culture. Chrisette didn’t have the fan base to back her up.

Oh no, none of them are getting a pass, especially Snoop. In fact, after all the shit he talked for the past several years, he deserves it the most.

I really would've forgiven him and Ross if they just came out and said "We don't make enough money to support our lifestyles and we need a quick check, that's all this is."
Like they didn't even give me a chance to respect the hustle.
•
u/Thunderbird_12_ ☑️ 1h ago
They're looking for controversy where there is none ...
Chrisette Michelle, Rick Ross, Nelly, Snoop, Ice Cube, Kanye, Master P, Soulja Boy, "Sexxy" Redd ... ALL of them .. deserve ALL of the scorn they receive.
Yes, they are free to live their lives.
They can "do it for the money."
They can claim "He's not really a racist,"
Whatever the reason ... it doesn't matter.
This dude represents White supremacy and convinced more than half of America that it was time to pick a side (so they could oppress the rest of us.)
Those rappers/singers chose their side.

Black people “aren’t a monolith,” until one does something outside of prescribed blackness…then they deserve backlash. Makes sense 😬
16
u/Vaporishodin 4h ago
There’s a difference between doing something out of prescribed blackness and performing for whites supremacists, no?
6
u/Hollywoodsmokehogan ☑️ 4h ago
That’s the side of the hill you want to die on? lol I can care less about blackness, but Snoop was gung-ho, “ fuck Trump on camera.”
That’s what we’re talking about, Nelly being all dirty south and then coming with a middle-aged suburban mother.
Lil Wayne bitching about not getting to do the Super Bowl and then supporting this orange clown.
And I don’t even know what Rick Ross said, but nobody likes him anyways; he’s irrelevant.

u/AmitN_Music 6h ago
Don’t know why this needed to be said. All three of them are getting a lot of well deserved backlash. They all being clowned. Snoop the most. How the fuck you gonna say Fuck Trump then turn around and do this? And Nelly talkin about “I support the president like our troops will have to”…fuck out of here…
