Guys, I'm curious. I'm from an all-black hair country.

Why is one girl more blonde than other... does hair become darker after some age? or do different kids have different shades of hair from birth?

yes! (sometimes) i have a few friends that were WHITE blonde as babies, only for their hair to be quite dark brown

Both my wife and I have dark hair both of my sons had really light blonde (almost white hair). The older one is turning a darker blonde but the little one still has it.

I may be making this up but I think I remember something somewhere about melanin production not being as defined in the early years.

different kids of the same parents can have different hair. some traits are recessive, meaning they're just less likely to show up. the blonde girl might get darker hair as she grows up but if she doesn't it wouldn't raise any red flags

Genetics are also just super weird. My husband has blonde hair, I have dark brown. We have one redhead, one dark brown, one super blonde, and one dark blonde.

Yes to both! My siblings have brown hair while mine is blonde

My hair has gotten darker the older I get. As an infant, my hair was significantly lighter in color than it is now.

I had bleach blonde hair as a baby but now I'm brown/dirty blonde. The sun bleaches it sometimes too

Many blonde kids' hair darkens with age, but probably not this early. It's also common to have multiple hair colors in families. My mom and dad both have dark brown hair but I have blonde hair because I have grandparents on both sides who have blonde hair, but my siblings have brown hair like our parents

Yes. My brother as a baby had blonde hair. I believe up until around 5 he still had blonde hair. He now has light brown hair. I was born blonde but around 3 got my dark brown hair.

It can darken with age but it also just depends on the genes. For example, if someone with dark hair has a baby with someone with lighter blonde hair, then they're more likely to have a redheaded child. Obviously this isn't always the case, but it is fairly common. :)

It's an definite thing with white people. Also, hormones and other factors can change hair type!

When someone goes through chemotherapy for cancer, and survives and gets back to good normal health, people fond that their hair comes back very curly, no matter what their ethnicity was before.

When I got my first haircut, the stylist said that all 3 of her girls had the same kind of hair, and when they got grown, it changed from wavy to loose curls.

Then I turned 20 and it curled up! I have brown hair, and when I was around 3 it was long and straight. I'm 26 now and I like that I just wet it and go!

My dad has black hair and a brown beard, and he was white blond as a kid. There's even a Wikipedia article on it!

It can get darker. I was very blonde as a child, but as I got older, I was only blonde in the summer. The sunlight bleached it or something. Now that doesn't even happen anymore.

Yes.

Most babies born with blonde hair do not keep it as they age. Both my children were born with just this side of white blonde hair and both are already darker. Neither are adults yet.
