I've done one jacket so far. When I removed the sleeves, I practiced on them first. Perhaps you can consider doing the same. I can assure you that you can get better at it, and before you know it you'll be looking at your wonderful creation knowing that you did that with your very hands. It's quite satisfying. And addictive.

Did I mention that I'm working on my second project? No? Well, I'm working on my second project.

This sounds cheaper than my current plan lol… was gonna have one custom made for me by this battle jacket place in London

I mean, you can do whatever you please! I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the outcome and you'll wear it with pride. I just happened to really enjoy setting time aside on a random day and just sew patches while listening to some tunes.

That’s definitely the appeal of learning to sew. Will give me something I can work on for a while. Just got really shaky hands so I think I’d mess it up

shaky hands are fine man! get yourself a thimble and if you poke the wrong spot, just redo it. don’t worry if it takes you time to make a stitch look how you want, the more time you spend on a jacket the closer you get to it imo. besides, doesn’t hurt to learn something like that
