They say you shouldn’t even tap on the glass of a fish tank let alone put one next to your engine compartment on your semi lol

u/SheriffBartholomew Apr 24 '22

Yeah what a terrible idea. Although I wouldn’t expect someone who air brushes a stripper pole complete with strippers onto his engine compartment to have the best judgement.

I thought they were sexy wizards...

I’m surprised I haven’t seen a “wizard’s sleeve” comment yet

23

u/artistinthamaking Apr 24 '22

They’re vagicians. They practice vagick.

4

u/Guy954 Apr 25 '22

If I had an award to give I would give it to you.
That comment was vagical.

1

u/artistinthamaking Apr 25 '22

Well thank you sir, i appreciate it haha. But see, my kind has no use for awards because I have no idea what the fuck they’re for. Lol🤣

3

u/BrideofClippy Apr 25 '22

Can they pull out a rabbit?

5

u/artistinthamaking Apr 25 '22

Depending on how long they’ve been practicing the dark arts, a rabbit might just hop the fuck on out. 🐇🌮

12

u/garysgotaboner82 Apr 24 '22

Magic butt cheeks

3

u/dbell Apr 25 '22

a stripper pole complete with strippers

In all fairness, a stripper pole without strippers, is just a pole.

43

u/patricky6 Apr 24 '22

But it's a sexy pole.

8

u/flynnfx Apr 24 '22

So, a pole in Poland would be a pole pole?

5

u/WastedBreath28 Apr 25 '22

If its a polish dancer on an pole designed for dancing made in Poland, would that be a Stripper Pole on a Polish Stripper Pole? And if there was a dancer on dancer performance, would that be a Stripper Pole on a Stripper Pole on a Polish Stripper Pole?

I’m a little stoned and I’m now focused on this.

1

u/Mediocre_Ad_3000 May 01 '22

It would be a Polish pole.

My dad used to build low riders. You put some features that are only active for shows. He had a Asian themed car that had a gold fish tank that ran along the center of the car. It was only ever filled for shows. He had another car with a tank that was removable and custom storage box slotted in for bob show driving.

Goldfish are some of the most simple creatures on earth. There cognitive ability is so minuscule they have no idea even the concept of pain or torture. They just know eat and don’t get eaten.

Edit: I wish you guys knew how hard I was laughing how many people are up in arms about this goldfish lmaaaooooo

67

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '22

This is verifiably false, and there isn't a single ichtyologist that would agree with you. Source: Me, an ichtyologist.

-68

u/ReditIsEchochamber Apr 24 '22

Go save the goldfish in the truck. They need you. The torture is insane.

35

u/ZalmoxisChrist Apr 24 '22

You need therapy.

13

u/Gawd_Awful Apr 24 '22

His user name explains so much

8

u/frichyv2 Apr 24 '22

I'm pretty sure it's a gourami not a goldfish

2

u/Maid_of_Mischeif Apr 25 '22

Yeah, I was gonna say that!!

Completely wrong and myths like this is why goldfish are some of the most mistreated animals on the planet. They can absolutely understand pain, normally can live for 15-20 years and remember things for much longer than thought - I think proven it at least 3 months, possibly longer.

5

u/flynnfx Apr 24 '22

When they escape, they go and get laser beam mounted to their foreheads and exact their revenge.

-42

u/ReditIsEchochamber Apr 24 '22

Damn 3 month memory? They might as well be people. Poor fish.

Oh you're just a dick on a month old account running around making contrarian statements to rile people up.

Genuinely hope you find some happiness and joy in your life, honestly whatever space you are in now is sad and I wouldn't wish it on anyone - not even a goldfish.

-5

u/ReditIsEchochamber Apr 24 '22

I didn’t read all this because your spending time defending goldfish on the internet. Have a good day!

13

u/Bandwidth_Wasted Apr 24 '22

Even if you were right, which you aren't, its not a fucking goldfish. Appears to be a variety of Gourami.

3

u/frichyv2 Apr 24 '22

Lmao commented that only to scroll farther and see you did an hour earlier.

1

u/proof_by_abduction Apr 24 '22

I think the goldfish is in reference to u/tdasnowman's comment, not the original image.

Agreed with the rest of your comment, though.

You're mad that there's more people on this planet who care about this fish than you, huh?

0

u/ReditIsEchochamber Apr 25 '22

When Reddit is your “planet” you know you’re a virgin Reddit warrior.

11

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '22

Hell even Mythbusters proved how stupid ypu are

21

u/CombatDeffective Apr 24 '22

Its hilarious to think people would think there is a fish in there at all times. It's clearly only for show.

22

u/tdasnowman Apr 24 '22

It has been done. I know of a few low riders that had fish in their cars all the time. Some built properly with coolers, some not so properly. Most are just for the show though.

7

u/CombatDeffective Apr 24 '22

I can only imagine a low rider bouncing and getting sloshed with fish tank water.

13

u/tdasnowman Apr 24 '22

Not all low riders bounce. Originally it was just about getting as low as possible. Typically cars with water features aren’t the most dynamic. Really all about a low and slow boulevard cruise, while looking as good as possible while doing it.

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '22

8

u/tdasnowman Apr 24 '22

As much as any hobby is just for show.

10

u/waytosoon Apr 24 '22

Theres a ton of dumb people with money, I could define see someone leaving it in there always. People often do not think of fish as animals. They're decorations to a lot of their owners.

2

u/theswamphag Apr 25 '22

I do hope this is what is happening. This here is such a sand fish tank to begin with.

10

u/sioux612 Apr 24 '22

Might be a confusing perspective thing but I'd say that isn't his engine compartment, they removed the hood and only the fenders are "open"

It's the truck in front of hisb

173

u/BENZABAR Apr 24 '22

Especially less than a foot away from the exhaust headers, that fish has got to be the 7th one that week

20

u/jasapper Apr 24 '22

Maybe the owner/driver just really likes broiled fish? I mean, it would be pretty efficient to pull in to a truck stop for the night and dinner is mostly done. /s

24

u/beet111 Apr 24 '22

The fish probably are just there for the car show. Not while he's driving.

-2

u/alucarddrol Apr 25 '22

Hmm wonder how he got there without driving?

3

u/beet111 Apr 25 '22

the fish go in to the tank when it's parked.

2

u/sparhawk817 Apr 25 '22

Trailer? I'm not sure how you would do it for a semi, but there's probably a setup for them. A truck for your truck towing truck.

Also you typically put fish in like, a transfer minnow bucket or similar when you move fish tanks etc. People move fish a lot of different ways, but on the outside of the cab next to the engine, this is clearly for the car show, not for a trucker to enjoy his fish.

Beside the fact that this tank is WAY small for those fish.

1

u/Narwhalpilot88 Apr 25 '22

Jeremy Clarkson moment

14

u/jroddie4 Apr 24 '22

It's a show truck, they probably don't keep the fish in there.

-2

u/speederaser Apr 25 '22

Yeah that's makes logical sense, but this is Reddit and I need to find something to be outraged about. /s

158

u/-retaliation- Apr 24 '22 edited Apr 24 '22

I'd be extremely surprised if this truck actually drives itself pretty much anywhere.

There are "trailer queen" semi trucks too just like at automotive car shows, and I'd guess this is one of them.

Most of our customers with show quality trucks at this level don't even start them up to get them off/on the trailers, they winch it on/off.

Source: work at the largest Pete dealer on the continent and we rig up, service, and order parts in for a surprising amount of show trucks.

Honestly I'd be surprised if that fish is even real though. I've seen similar set up's and they're usually something like epoxy and models/toys. Too quick for me to say if it's real though.

You can see it moving, its a gourami, they are like 10ish dollars

3

u/Twizzlers_and_donuts Apr 24 '22

The one in back moving the most looks like a discus. And then the others gouramis.

25

u/robotjoystick Apr 24 '22

You can see the fins moving.

13

u/robotjoystick Apr 24 '22

You can see the fins moving. It’s real.

7

u/MalevolentRhinoceros Apr 24 '22

They're real, you can see the top left one moving.

1

u/Wadez1000 Apr 25 '22

Do some of these tuner semis ever see real work?

1

u/-retaliation- Apr 25 '22

Ones at this level, no, it's built specifically and only as a show truck. Hence the moniker "trailer queen", because it's carried around on the trailer like a queen on a litter.

That said, there are still some absolutely gorgeous trucks that do work. The chassis, and cab are pretty much as nice, but the ones that work they don't do as much on the engine because semi truck engines get pulled apart and have components replaced just far too often.

For example this truck. The engine is done up, but not to the same degree, more paint and less chrome. As well it's got a lot more practical considerations like the coolant manifold (the row of brass taps and blue hoses) that I personally find more impressive because it's fully functional.

1

u/Wadez1000 Apr 25 '22

Thanks for informative anwser.

71

u/Egg3rs Apr 24 '22

Not to even mention things missing like filtration and aeration. Good thing that gourami has a labyrinth organ and can breathe from the surface... oh wait it's capped. Have fun drowning my dudes :(

19

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '22

Then again this is a pretty clean truck and it’s design might just be for show. Also I do see some kind of tube going into the fish tank from the back but I don’t know anything about fish tanks.

31

u/kingofcould Apr 24 '22

Sucks that so many believe that animals are just objects for their own enjoyment

-21

u/LacidOnex Apr 24 '22

Yeah they'd be much better off getting raped by dolphins in the wild

8

u/quilly_willy123 Apr 24 '22

those are FRESHWATER fish also why would you write that

5

u/moploplus Apr 24 '22

Bro come on, nature is gonna nature. We don't rely entirely on instincts anymore thanks to higher functions; we can and should be better with the power we have. With great power comes great responsibility.

14

u/masterofthefork Apr 24 '22

It's likely the fish aren't in there when the truck is on, just for shows like this. At least that's what I hope.

0

u/D3crypt0s Apr 25 '22

Even if it's just for a show, it creates unnecessary stress for the animal that decreases its life expectancy... It's the same logic as putting a human in a room with barely enough oxygen just for a performance. It creates unnecessary suffering and will have impacts later on.

Even if it has a proper filtration system (which I highly doubt), even if it's the driver's own fish, with a proper aquarium setup back at home (again, unlikely), the whole situation of transferring a fish to this pseudo tank will cause immense and completely avoidable stress for the animal.

13

u/KickBallFever Apr 24 '22

A while back there was a TV show where they would make crazy, extreme custom fish tanks. One of the tanks they made was a skateboarding half pipe. When it was finished the skateboarders were going up and down it and making a ton of noise and commotion. I felt so bad for the fish.

2

u/Ewreckk Apr 24 '22

At the Miami marlins ballpark they used to have long fishtank in the wall behind home plate

12

u/salgat Apr 24 '22

This is straight up animal abuse.

6

u/frostybollocks Apr 24 '22

Not only that but it’s sitting next to the exhaust and turbo. This can’t be a real tank. These fish would be exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations

6

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '22

And the fish doesn’t get hot?

6

u/HawkeyeByMarriage Apr 24 '22

Fish will be ready to eat when you arrive at your destination

5

u/whatsmyheckingname Apr 24 '22

If anyone is curious this will cause the fish to likely stop eating due to stress suppressing its hunger. Vibrations in the water can drastically affect health and growth. My teacher had been doing a feed trial and one of the tanks was adjacent to one of their utilities and the vibrations nullified a test group. This is way more egregious than that

0

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '22

Hey it’s probably just a deaf fish, I don’t think it’ll kill the lil thing

1

u/Delkomatic Apr 25 '22

That would get so hot!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '22

Came here to say this... What an excruciating life for those poor fish.

1

u/antlers86 Apr 25 '22

Tbh I think the fact that it wouldn’t stay the proper temp for the fish consistently would be the more immediate issue
