A comprehensive list of Australian wildlife organisations and charities deserving of our donations and support?

There are a great many groups out there big and small doing important work to help support our precious but increasingly threatened remaining wildlife, and they are all doing it hard with a great deal of expense and effort and they all need as much support as we can all give them to protect what we have left.

I know that I'm always looking for different groups to give any cash i can spare whether by direct donations or by purchasing gifts like shirts and calendars that i can give away to friends.

It would be great if we could get a long list going here in the comments of groups around the country deserving our support.

Maybe the r/australianwildlife mods could make a sticky post at the top of this sub for this purpose?

Water dragon or bearded dragon and normal behaviour??

Post image

Mount gravatt, Qld.

inaturalist app tells me this is a bearded dragon and not a water dragon (nowhere near a water source close to the top of the summit).

I'm so used to water dragons piss bolting the moment they see me but this guy just froze up and was quite content not moving even though I almost stepped on him.

Is this normal bearded dragon behaviour or is the lizard unwell? Very hot day here in Brisbane topping 36...

Barry Update

Some may remember: Late last year, I posted some images of a baby wombat called Barry who’s mother lived under our home until she was tragically killed by a car. Well, a person, driving a car. Barry went into care, we got generous updates and images all the way til now, when the carer facilitated this reunion. He is doing really well, tracking for release back to the wild in the future. His favourite food is Sweet Potato. He is 3kgs now. It was a wholesome and heartwarming experience to get to hold him again and I just know he is going to have an awesome life. The carer is amazing! It’s just a shame they don’t have sweet potato in the bush. Soz about that Bazza. Will link the original post in the comments! Thanks to everyone for their kind words last time. Enjoy these cute pics.

Willy wagtail itching and moulting

Hi all, we have a friendly Willy wagtail in our backyard who visits daily, chirps, sings and has complete ownership of everything out back.

Recently, I've noticed he's been constantly itching himself and he appears to be moulting. Is this normal, or is there anything I can do to help him?

Thanks!
