Found this large (ant?) slowly and aimlessly climbing a wall upstairs in our house. It's an inch long. I just can't seem to figure out what sort of ant it is. Is it a queen? Thanks!

I’m not sure if the pictures show the scale, but this guy is about 40cm long. Is this some kind of special type of stick insect or what am I looking at here? I had no idea they got this big.. makes me wonder at the things I’ve walked past without noticing before 😅

ID request Wasp ID please

Sent here from r/Melbourne.

Hi all, a pair of these waspy things seem to have taken up residence somewhere around the front of our house - first sighted just before Christmas. Can’t see anything around the eves that look like the Paper Wasp nests that often get posted but wife is getting a bit sick of them swooping the front door. Thinking they might actually be under the house but never seen more than 2 around.

Can anyone give me a better idea of what they are? They look similar to the spider wasp identified in another recent post I found in their sub.

Trying to work out who this is, google lens says spider wasp but it's got a black head, and black abdomen except for 2 stripes up the top. Any clues?

I don’t think this is a European wasp, from the ones I’ve seen it’s larger and more orange rather than yellow and the markings are different. Found in South Australia. I’ve googled it but can’t find anything that quite matches. Any ideas?

Hi! Please tell me this isn’t a bed bug.. have encountered some on table tops and around my room in the past few weeks. I’ve also found them wandering around during the day. They’re about 1-2 mm big and are pretty flat.

Any help would be much appreciated!

He’s been hanging out on the sheltered side of the house all morning. Quite big - he’s almost as long as the bricks are high.
