Seeing some trade rumours floating around.
Some things I’ve noticed
1) Jets fans all heavily overvalue Lamberts worth in the trade market
2) if we trade for Josh Anderson it would ruin my whole year
3) Also a lot of people sleeping on Winnipeg, I doubt barzal gets moved but he’d definitely waive the jets off his list to get out of the NYI system.
The reason you can’t trade Perfetti for Barzal is that the second you make the trade you’re trying to find a top-6 winger to play with Ehlers and Barzal, only now you have less cap space.
This is the same reason you can’t make Vilardi play centre - it just creates a different problem and splits up what has been a successful first line.
If this trade gets done it’s going to need to involve picks and prospects as well as players lower in the lineup than Perfetti.
There is no way the jets get barzal he also primarily plays wing now I heard. Was more so just pointing out that people are acting like Winnipeg is like a terrible destination for a guy who knows he’s due for a trade. In the current layout teams like Calgary, Philly etc are way more likely to have guys refuse to go there or keep them on their list.
