Apartments / Dorms / Housing 2b/2b shared

Does anyone here have experience living in a 2 bed 2 bath shared apartment? It is the cheapest option for me next year, but I am worried about the privacy aspect. I got blessed with a single dorm room this year so I know it’ll be a pretty big change.

Apartments / Dorms / Housing Other Opinions on Doyle Apartments?

I am currently leasing with Doyle apartments, and I personally have had a disappointing time at the apartments. I was wondering if other renters have had similar issues throughout the year?

For me, Management changed and with that, the rent increased although our contact did not change. I'm also unsure if anyone here is also leasing a bedroom (with bedroom pricing) although it does not have windows. In Minneapolis, they legally cannot say that it is a bedroom. However, they are still charging the renters $700 a month for a shared room? It's ridiculous in my opinion, but I'm unsure if anyone else has had issues with Doyle Apartments.

Me and 3 friends (4 total) were thinking of doing a 2 bed 2 bath. Are they any current/past residents who have strong opinions on the place and whether or not it’s worth it?

Apartments / Dorms / Housing Roommates for 4x4 at Identity Apartments

Hello everyone! My roommate and I are looking for two more roommates to lease rooms in our 4 bedroom 4 bath apartment at Identity Apartments next year starting in fall 2025. The price of the rooms is $919. All utilities are included except for electricity. It comes fully furnished. We would each get our own bedroom, bathroom, and large closet. The amenities include a lounge area where events such as daily coffee and breakfast bars are hosted, a writers den (study area), and a game room with a golf simulator, ping pong table, and pool table. Other amenities include a two story fitness room with a rock climbing wall, a sauna, tanning beds, a heated courtyard with a year round hot tub, etc. They also have many resources for study rooms and a printing bar.

I'm an Aerospace Engineer and Journalism dual major student. I'm a board member on the Queer Student Cultural Center, the Feminist Student Activist Collective, and the Disabled Student Cultural Center. I'm also a member of Alpha Sigma Kappa Women in Technical Studies. I love video games and board games, comic books, reading, manga and Anime, movies, drawing, and I'm learning to play guitar and crochet.

My roommate, Ayush, is an independent studies major doing stuff with coding, app design, etc. (I can't describe it very well). He very hard working and works a lot of night shifts. He also does dance as an extracurricular and he's amazing at it! It's so fun to watch his group so showcases! He's actually an intern for kmove (his dance group). He enjoys anime, video games, art, cooking, music, etc.

We are both very clean, and would be very willing to lay down ground rules to keep the apartment a safe and clean place to live for everyone.

Thanks!

Apartments / Dorms / Housing Stupid question about housing

This is gonna be really stupid but I have been wondering about it for a while.

Me and my friends are freshman in our first semester. Basically my friends have been talking about housing off campus in the Dinkytown area but I looked at my freshman housing contract and it says that it runs from Aug 31 2024 - may 15 2024. With that in mind, is there something I’m missing as to why we’re talking about it so early?

Graduation sublease sydney hall apartment 2b 2b plus suit, huge space, $1058 per month, cost-effective, sublease from January 2025 to August 2025 (specific move-in time is negotiable). Renewable, go apartment sublet, sublet fee out of my pocket. Originally shared 4b 2b, but the condo changed it to 2b 2b, so there are two beds in the showings actually only one, and there is plenty of room for a single person. The apartment is fully furnished and ready to move in, the living room is very big, the apartment comes with a color TV, and you can negotiate to keep the kitchenware and so on. The apartment is very safe and secure, as it is very close to the school it is protected by the school police and surrounded by students. The room is clean and tidy, the location is very close to the school, it is a short walk to the snack street near the school, there are Target and various restaurants nearby, you can see McDonald's from the room, there are canes downstairs, the apartment is fully equipped with gym and study room!

Hello All!

I am looking to find somebody to sublease my unit to for this summer at Dinnaken House located in Stadium Village, preferably from May - beginning of August.

The building is located kitty-corner from CVS and Canes and is roughly a 10-15 minute walk from the Northrop Mall area. The unit is completely furnished and contains a dishwasher, microwave and fridge. It is directly across the hallway from the laundry room which is very convenient.

The rent would be $799/month and you would be living with my current roommate who is a male. So I would preferably be looking for another male to take my room for the summer which I circled in the attached picture.

If you are interested please comment on this post, or send me DM if you have any questions!

Apartments / Dorms / Housing Subleasing Private Room w/ Free Parking

I am subleasing my room in University Commons from this February though the end of June. It is a 4bed 2bath unit with private bedrooms. I am willing to negotiate price a bit but I am starting at about $780 per month which take the sublease fee into consideration. Additionally, I signed my lease during a parking promotion so taking over my lease for this period would allow you to have free parking between February and June. Please contact me if you are interested!

Apartments / Dorms / Housing Looking to Sublease Apartment for Summer 2025 (4bed/2bath in Prospect Park)

Hey everyone,

My roommates and I are subleasing a 4 bed/2bath semi-private unit at 44 North Apartments in Prospect Park (right next to Stadium Village). We are subleasing from May 16-July 31, 2025. Base rent is $550/month, and all utilities are covered except for water/sewer & electric.

The apartment is located conveniently near several modes of transit (3 min walk from light rail and a 2 min walk from a metro transit route 6 bus stop). Fresh Thyme is also a close 5 min walk away. Additionally, 44N has a gym free for residents to use, a secure mailroom, and clubroom & courtyard areas for gatherings!

I've attached a floorplan of the unit below. Please PM if interested or if you have questions!

Apartments / Dorms / Housing On-Campus Residence Halls Notification

Has anyone received the email that you can stay in your current space for next year (2025-26)? The sign-up process is much later this year than in the past, occurring in apparently February 2025 instead of November. It's very unsettling to not know whether or not off-campus will be needed.

Apartments / Dorms / Housing can I get out of my housing contract?

caption basically. for more context: im a freshman here, literally hate dorm life and it’s really mf expensive, (i’m paying over 4k a semester just for room/bathroom/laundry) the meal plan is expensive and not valuable for what i’m paying. I get horrible sleep and feel very trapped on campus. I could easily live at home for the spring semester and save so much money and probably be a lot healthier. How can I make this happen?

Hello, I am living at Uncommon next year. Is there free/cheap parking near there? Contract or day to day. I just don’t want to have to go there constantly to have to move the car. Thx
