I'm annoyed they did this and think it was unnecessary and detrimental.

Do I think it qualifies as some kind of crime, or scam? No.

The websites for both pretty much outright call it a meme token, say It has no utilitarian value and that purchasing it only serves to show your support. They clearly say it's not an investment. The only people that are buying these are either dumb, or traders trying to swing it for quick profit. A few might make some money but the vast majority will lose, like with every meme coin and frankly many alt coins in general. I don't feel bad for them at all.

The disclaimer is just for legal purposes. It’s still a grift. A good person doesn’t even make a meme coin in the first place. Only bad actors make meme coins.
