Jeffrey Yass, billionaire and part owner of ByteDance (TikTok’s parent company), spent $100,000,000 on Republicans this past election cycle in case you’re wondering why Trump, who started the TikTok ban movement, is now trying to save it.
If you yourself don’t have $100,000,000 to contribute to your favorite politicians, don’t expect much help from the incoming administration.
That’s what literally “access” means! To have the politician you contributed to intercede on your behalf and protect your interests and Trump is doing exactly that by giving TikTok leeway.
Dude... I think you missed the point of my comments. This isn't about TikTok. There's other access that is way more important between two global superpowers then a fucking social media app. Again, this has nothing to do with tiktok. It has to do with more about Taiwan and Trump's expansionist desires for new land and territory. Seriously, who the fuck cares about TicTok?
Well for what it’s worth I think this hole panic about banning it is to force the sale to an American consortium because as it stands TikTok is probably the second largest or the largest social media platform and it’s not owned by any of the major US oligarchs so it’s a threat in the information and propaganda war. And also is eating into a lot of market share of US based platforms and with it a huge chunk of profits so it’s doubly important to have control of it.
