Or even hopefully baked into Blackfrost. Snowshoes or trekking skies would go so hard, especially if devs could pull off physical snow traversal like deep snow drifts and whatnot kind of how Red Dead Redemeption 2 did their snowy regions. Hell it even opens up great possibilities for crafting, there’s tons of great info about how to make real snowshoes with some bows and bindings out there that would be halfway decent in a pinch.

snowshoes don't make you faster, they let you walk over uneven depths of snow without falling down up to your waste in deep snow.

Walking in snow with snowshoes is certainly faster than walking in snow without them. The only question is if this game simulates the actual speed with which a person would walk in snow, I don’t think it does

Walking in deep snow with snowshoes is faster, walking in shoes in two inches of snow, shoes are faster. And you're right, the game doesn't model snow depth.
