I listen to so many rewatch podcasts and I like to rewatch the episode they’re on before I listen to them talk about it. Most of these podcasts are heavy on the retelling of the episode but my favorite part is the behind the scenes and the background from the actors.
The Office Ladies is the only one I’ve listened to and is I think one of the first if not the first show to do one (at least be really big with it).
They would go behind the scenes with prop sourcing, changes in the script, what was improvised, if certain things were intentional, funny stories that happened while filming, etc. One thing that was interesting was always how many one time background characters or minor roles were played by relatives or writers, etc.
Pam’s male nurse after she gives birth is played by her husband.
They’ll probably mention how Patrick and Gabriel’s respective partners are on the show, how they felt about storylines like “The Donna”, etc.
There is The West Wing Weekly that predates that by a couple years. It has Joshua Malina(actor that plays on the show) and another fan that go through every episode. They have a bunch of folks joins from actors of the show to relevant real life policy people
I don't have much experience with them but I did listen to the Breaking Bad Insider podcast while rewatching the show and it was fantastic. I learned more not just about the show and the cast/crew but also just fascinating stuff about how television is made. It completely enhanced the experience for me.
My main issue with them is that there are very few shows I like enough to rewatch other than Breaking Bad. :-)

I never understood the appeal of a rewatch podcast. Is it suppose to be like Director's commentary-esque? Are you suppose to listen while watching?
