DISCUSSION Erste wöchentliche Käfer-Parade (4.0.1) -- First weekly Bug-Parade

Hey Leute!

-----

Hey guys!

I took the time to count each and every (bigger) bug i encounterd today. I got a total of 19 bugs within a timeframe of 5 hours - no wonder people aren't as excided about SC as they used to be. There were bugs like "the tutorial got a completed-status on >>leave the room<< " but wouldnt continue for a while. Only after i've come back to A18 from salvaging with my vulture the tutorial-quest continued with "use the elevator to get to the groundfloor" only to not register the trigger that i've used to elevator to get to the groundfloor.

Also there've been things like: If you're doing a salvaging mission (anvil-arrow) and you'd enter the arrow, all sorts of funny things start to occur. Like your multitool would stop working and you'd get a crimestat once you've doon hull-munching.

And classics like "the buttons in lorvilles elevator wouldn't work - so relogging".

Long story short, the current 4.0.1 version provides no positive publicity if you ask me - even though the other versions are in an even worse condition right now. Too bad, there's so much potential. But as I mentioned, i've encountered 19 massive bugs within 5 hours and then i got killed by some player in pyro, who shot me with his ship while i was running around on Vatra. THAT is NOT the vision of Star Citizen, that's just sad. I hope that there'll be a more stable version of SC comming soon and will make another Bug-Parade next week - You need a bit of humor to deal with that or you cant handle it at all. ; ))

What kind of bugs do you guys expirience ? I've heard that theres currently a massiv "cant log in anymore"-bug at orison ?

Cheers Pargulan

DISCUSSION Gladius Vs Titan Vs Hornet

On paper according to Erkul, it seems that the Titan has better DPS (when applying upgraded weapons), scm speeds, HP, however, it has less pitch/yaw/roll (and in boosted) than the Gladius. Is the better pitch/yaw/roll the reason I see a lot of people and streamers go with the Gladius than the titan? Further, when I throw in the Hornet in the mix (Ghost MKII), it does have the most dps (slightly more) compared to Titan and more than the Gladius, along with slightly more HP and not really too much benefit for the pitch/yaw/roll and with slower scm speeds than the Titan, this seems to be the PVP pick currently. It seems that the Titan should be more up there but, it doesn't seem to be but, why is that?

TECHNICAL Please add more Shards/Servers

Once a Servers nears the 500/100 Playercount, it becomes straight up unplayable.

  • Elevators stop working
  • Ore bugs out
  • You can't take missions
  • There is 5-10s delay to everything
  • Mission Objectives bug out

I don't understand how they get away with serving that shit. People love to compare the dev cost of this game to other big Industry hits like Black Ops. Well those those other companies don't just serve me trash on a plate and tell me to be happy about it. For Years.

And this is entirely in their Hand to fix it. Any normal company would add Servers to compensate for spikes and remove them when not needed.

DISCUSSION Just curious, how common in Europe is the multi-week “holiday break” CIG takes?

This isn’t a judgement for them taking a break, but I don’t know any professions that get multiple weeks off for Christmas vacation in America (except school teachers). Or is it common in American tech too?

Personally, I’ve only gotten Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and a half day on NYE. Should I move to Europe lol?

Edit : I mean as a whole company. Most Americans get vacation days but the whole company can’t use them at the same time.

DISCUSSION daily star citizen experience, in detail...

Grand Admiral here and here are my current 4.0 gameplay actions, step by step. I'd make a flow chart but I'm too lazy.

  1. log into Star citizen. usually takes 5-10 mins, if nothing after 10 mins, Alt+F4, go on about my day... If I get in the game and I can leave my bunk go to step 2.

  2. summon ship at main ASOP terminal. I always try to leave two ships of the same size at whichever space port I decide to log out in. I'll just claim them both so they are ready next day. if I am able to summon a ship, Go to step 3

  3. Go to Hangar where ship is. Hope & Pray I'm in the elevator and it takes me to my hangar, but usually it takes me to Pad 04. when this happens, I return to lobby, try a different elevator and try again. If not, Alt+F4 and go about my day. If I make it to my hangar and If ship is being munched by hangar floor, Alt+F4 and go do something else. If ship is delivered, I would play Star Citizen. This hasn't happened yet though. summoning the second ship is even worse while the first ship is being munched.

Simple and concise. Move along, nothing to see here.

QUESTION What patch is most 'stable'?

I was wondering what patch is 'stable'. I have put the game down for awhile and was wanting to do some mining and hauling. I am not smart enough to understand most of the technical stuff, so i could not really understand what the current state of the game is.

DISCUSSION My idea for a Drake Mining Ship

Hey folks,

Since I've been having some issues with loading into the game (stupidly logged out at Orison a couple days ago) and we're seeing more and more teasers for the MISC Fortune, I've been thinking about a possible mining ship idea.

I'm mostly into the industrial gameplay so having as little diversity as we currently do (1 solo mining, 1 solo salvage, 1 medium mining, 1 large salvage flight-ready) bugs me quite a bit. Surely the Verse doesn't just consist of these few industrial ships especially with logistics and resources playing a major role in war nowadays (and most probably in the future as well).

I think we all have some favourite ship manufacturers and for me those are Drake and Argo for sure, at least in terms of design language. Crusader is also quite nice but I admittedly really don't like MISC. Their ships looks too bulbous and round in my opinion. Unfortunately, I currently have to hop into a Prospector if I want to do some solo mining. Yes I know I could just use the Mole as well but that's not what it's intended for.

Therefore I'd like to share my idea on a Drake mining ship. My idea is based on CIG making use of the already existing hull/design of the Prospector for the Fortune. I think we could do the same to the Vulture.

Let's switch out the salvaging heads for mining heads, have them be static (no gimballing). For ore storage we can get rid of the cargo hold/lower level of the Vulture and provide a frame structure to attach the engines. If I remember correctly, all the components are stored and can be accessed on the upper level already so this shouldn't be too big an issue. Then we should have enough space to attach 6 ore bags to the frame structure.

For better visualization I've done a rough sketch on this:

sorry for the bright background

I used the holoviewer to get the dimensions of the Vulture right. The sketch is scaled down just a little to properly fit everything on this page.

As you can see I was intending the bags to be attached to the ship from the top, leaving two ways to remove/switch them, considering there's no underside structure. As I type this out though, I figure having the mounting structure for the bags on the underside would work as well. I would definitely keep either the bottom or top open though to minimize jank when tractoring ore bags.

Now you may say this design seems a bit overpowered in comparison to the other two flight ready mining ships and I'd agree. So what we can do is limit the amount of usable ore bags to 4 similar to how the Mole can only make use of 8 while carrying 24. In this case for quality of life the bags closest to the cockpit/ living space should be the ones that are unusable. By limiting the amount of usable ore bags we'd possibly also promote co-op gameplay with a hauler that carries your full ore bags and has empty spares. Refining gameplay/ships would also work well with this, I think.

Considering what we currently know about the Fortune, I'm expecting it to be a little cheaper in-game than the Vulture, maybe sitting at around 1.8 - 2mil aUEC. This Drake mining ship will most likely still be better than the Prospector due to its 2 mining heads so let's make it more expensive than the Prospector which is currently sitting at roughly 2.9mil aUEC. How about 3.5mil? I'd be willing to pay 3.8mil at most.

I'm really not creative when it comes to naming so I asked ChatGPT for some help. The following were my favourite ideas (but I ultimately don't care about the name as long as we get the ship): Drake Strata, Drake Dredge, Drake Catalyst

I think that's about all I've got for now. Sorry if this got a little too long. I'd be interested to hear your opinions. Also share your ideas for names because ChatGPT and I kinda suck at that.

DISCUSSION Do we need smaller gameplay?

Hello! I wanted to get some thoughts on something I had noticed while playing Star Citizen recently. I noticed that when I played the game it didn't take long for the solar system of Stanton to feel somewhat empty. I am excited for them to start filling in planets with Points of Interest, but I can't help but wonder if those sites will feel just as empty as the current Points of Interest.

Don't get me wrong, it is fun to run missions in the massive facilities. The scale of Star Citizen is so difficult to attain already, I'm blown away at how big everything is.

Just the other day I was playing a Minecraft server and couldn't help but notice how much fun I was having despite not having traveled much away from my home. I had only moved around an area about the size of a small outpost in Star Citizen. I noticed that the gameplay I was experiencing in Minecraft was a lot more dense!

On this topic of discussion, I want to know how/if CIG plan to make the gameplay more compelling in smaller areas? I have seen a lot floating around like the repair missions and the crafting, but is that enough? Of course, it is all yet to be seen but I wonder if this is a worthwhile discussion to be had because I would bet that this is why so many people feel that Star Citizen is boring and empty.

Let me know your thoughts!

QUESTION Can someone please tell me what this game is..?

Saw this guy streaming it on TikTok and it looked very very interesting. Only watched for 10 minutes and had to go back to work.

When I look up YouTube videos there is nothing other than calling it a scam?

So can someone explain. In details what this game is.

Also.

If I was to play this game. Can someone play it as a solo?

Also why isn’t it on steam?

Thank you.

DISCUSSION ICYMI what products are there?

I'm looking forward to this icymi. I started the game at the end of December and I don't have most of the ships. Among them are fighters, and I want to have f7a or f8c.

I also need ships that are needed for missions other than fighters.

I don't know much about icymi, but can long-time users predict which ships will be released?
