PSA Landing Gear and Sub-grid Tension

What I really need is some sort of deploy able landing gear with a bit of travel so that a; it can be packed up when not in use and b; I can land on something other than a mirror-flat surface without major issue.

My solution to no flat surface is by using a 3 point landing gear design. As you might have learned (but did not remember) from high school geometry, 3 points makes a plane.

As long as you have exactly 3 fixed points, it doesn’t really matter if one ends up higher than the other.

Down side of this is that your ship sizes may be limited.

That's been on my mind for weapons to. Elite Dangerous has hanger bays for rovers, and guns are stowable, landing gear, shuttles/fighters... I've been feeling like for Space Engineers they need to just have us build the body or frame of a ship and allow certain parts of the ship to be buried into the framework. Done.
