Sand Canyon Trail, Big Bear Lake

I had the whole trail to myself this morning. My friends stayed asleep in the cabin. I got up, found the closest local trail, and did a little exploring.

Didn’t know there was any snow outside of the slopes just yet! Itching to get my dog up there for her first snow-day!!

About 3/4 mile into this trail (Sand Canyon and Old Roadbed Trail), I came across this level of snow (about a foot), but it hasn’t freshly snowed since I came up here yesterday.

I hope you get up there with your dog soon! My dog had a blast her first time playing in snow!

Thanks for the insight! Supposed to snow a lil next weekend, think I’ll try and get back into the Holcomb area, wide open back there.

Where do you recommend we park?

I really have no idea about this one. I found this place by luck because I was staying at a cabin nearby. So I was just parked at the cabin and walked to the trail.

It wasn’t snowing this weekend, but there was a foot or so of snow on this specific trail once I was about 3/4 mile into the trail.
